(BL)Alpha Made-Chapter 574: Side story 4
Andrew had never felt like he would have this much love in his heart, ever. However, the day that his children were born, Andrew knew he was going to have to reevaluate his whole life.
Maxwell was exhausted, his body having gone through a major surgery so that he didn't tear himself apart trying to push out the little bundles of joy in his arms. He had barely let them rest outside of his arms as soon as they got back to the room and he was in the clear to hold them.
It was cute, it was endearing, and in the few moments that they hadn't had the little babies by their side, Andrew and Maxwell had finalised the names for the little ones.
They were big names, names they were going to have to grow into, but Andrew had no doubt that his children would be able to do so.
Luis was swooning over the little babies, tears pouring down her face as she stared at her son with his children. She was already a grandma twice over, but this was different. She constantly fussed over Maxwell, making sure he was okay, even as she couldn't stop crying.
Andrew couldn't blame her. Maxwell looked good holding their children, but the man needed to rest. So did the babies, so Andrew had to be the bad guy and take his children away from him, much to the pouting and distress of Maxwell.
However, now that they were alone, Andrew could coat the man in his pheromones and soothe him that way. It was a small miracle, something that Andrew appreciated now that he had the headspace to do so.
"What did you decide to name them?" Luis asked after Andrew had put them in their cradles. They settled quickly, seeming to also appreciate Andrew's pheromones. Andrew chuckled. Sweet little creatures.
"Well, we talked about it, and for the girl we're thinking of Flora Dianna Jen Beckett, and for the boy Oliver Thomas Kimber Beckett." Maxwell told his Mom. Luis sat there for a moment before her eyes watered.
"Your father is going to love that." Luis whispered, reaching for her son's hand and giving it a squeeze. "Oh Max, those are pretty names, but big names for those little babies." Luis said carefully and Maxwell laughed. His eyes hadn't really stopped watering since the birth, his emotions high still.
"I know, but we both had so many opinions that this was the best we could settle on. I really wanted the name Chrysanthemum for a daughter, but Andy talked me down to Flora as a good middle ground." Maxwell told his Mom. Luis let out a slight laugh, shaking her head as Andrew tugged the chair closer on the other side, taking Maxwell's other hand in his own. He pressed a kiss against the back of his hand, staring at his husband with adoration.
"Someone had to be the voice of reason. We have rather sensible names, Maxy. We can't curse our children like that. I think Flora and Oliver are good names, sensible ones, and they can have cute nicknames too. I can already see him as a little Ollie." Andrew teased and Maxwell's lips broke into a smile before his eyes began to leak in earnest.
"Oh fuck." Maxwell whispered but Andrew didn't mind. He reached up, wiping the tears away.
"It's okay to cry, my love. This is an emotional time." Andrew soothed. "I'm a weepy mess myself, so is your Mom." Andrew sucked in a deep breath as Maxwell quietly leaned into Andrew's touch. He truly loved this man.
"No one else cried like this after giving birth." Maxwell muttered and Andrew chuckled.
"Well, they probably did it when we weren't here." Andrew countered. "Plus, if they had patience, everyone would have been here waiting for them tomorrow. Our children were too eager to meet us, and then got upset that they arrived." Andrew teased. Maxwell's shoulders shook as he laughed silently, shaking his head as his tears quietly poured down his face. "Angel, don't cry too much. If you do, you won't even be able to see them." Andrew told him softly and Maxwell's lips sucked in a deep breath.
"I can't stop them." Maxwell whispered. Luis, ever the smart woman, stood silently.
"I'll go grab you two something to eat. Max'll need all the strength he can get to heal." She spoke softly and Andrew gave her a grateful look.
Luis left them, giving the new parents a moment to celebrate just by themselves. Andrew shifted so that he could hold his husband in his arms, cautious of the fact that he was stitched together, held together by Michael's handiwork along with a team of doctors and nurses who cared for him deeply. Who also did this almost every day.
Andrew comforted him, kissing him tenderly, whispering soft nothings into his ears as Maxwell let himself relax. Andrew knew that the man had taken on all of the stress of the pregnancy onto his shoulders, knew that Andrew was already anxious, and now that it was 'over' it was Andrew's turn to carry the heavy load.
It wasn't a heavy load to Andrew. It was love, kindness, and consideration that he was going to give back to his husband. He was so thankful that things had gone easily, without any issues. He could never thank Maxwell enough for doing what he had.
Maxwell better be prepared to be pampered, adored and loved for the rest of his life.

Thankfully, their friends and family gave them the day outside of Michael checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly, Will making sure of the same thing, and Luis being around to be there for Maxwell.
It was the first time that Maxwell had really relied on his Mom since he'd manifested as an omega, and Luis was not about to let her son down.
When the family began to pour in the next day, the first to arrive were Jenny and Kim, along with Leo and Alyssa. Both wanted to see their new family members and while the family had been told that they had one of each, the names had been kept from them because Maxwell and Andrew wanted to tell them personally. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Kim had bright amber eyes, red rimmed from crying even before she entered the room, and Jenny held a big hydrangea arrangement as she came in, her own eyes rimmed red as well. Andrew and Maxwell smiled at them warmly, knowing inside that both women were going to sob like children when they heard their names.
Leo and Alyssa greeted their sleeping cousins, staring at the little babies. Since they were so young, so fresh, they didn't really have any defining characteristics. Both babies were born a little underweight, but that was to be expected for twins. Neither was born with hair, and their eyes hadn't settled on a colour yet. They just looked…new.
Andrew made sure that they were both sitting before he told them the names of their children. It took both of them a moment to realise it, since the names weren't exactly the same, but when they got it, both women wept. Andrew wanted to honour both of them, since without them he wouldn't even be here.
It was a given that if he had a daughter they would have his Mom's name, but he didn't want to turn his back to the other important people in his life, and Maxwell had agreed.
Kim hugged both of them, Jenny crying into her hands until Leo came over and wrapped his arms around his Mom, supporting her from behind.
"You'll make the babies cry." Leo warned, and that only made them all laugh.
From that moment on, the room was a rotating door. Everyone came who could come, including Walter and Aster. They beamed as they saw the little babies and told both Maxwell and Andrew that they were going to make great parents. Amir's, Andrew's grandparents brought plenty of gifts for the little babies, grinning and pinching Andrew and Maxwell's cheeks with happiness. Even Amir came, newborn in hand, tired eyes filled with happiness when he saw Andrew and Maxwell's bundles of joy.
"I am so glad that I have you as a pregnancy companion." Amir admitted. "We won't be alone." He said quietly and Maxwell seemed a little surprised to hear that, but just like Amir he seemed…relieved.
Maria was a storm when she came in, gushing and melting over the little babies while also handing Maxwell her personal recovery kit. She admitted without missing a beat that Hewie had been a C-section, so these were products she swore by that helped in the recovery. She didn't think it would be too much of a difference between male and female omegas, but she would be happy to help if he had questions. She also had hired a chef weeks ago to make them a bunch of meals to be put in the freezer, and with Luis and Thomas' help, they were getting delivered as they spoke, along with the freezer.
Andrew had to blink several times when he heard that. Andrew had also prepared, but Maria had shaken her head, smirking.
She promised that they were going to need more. Not only did they have Maxwell who was recovering from a C-section, they had two newborns. It was going to be hard on them, and Maria, who had three kids, would know. Andrew eventually just thanked her, because no matter what, she was helping.
Maria accepted her hug graciously, grinning before she held both babies and cooed at them warmly. The babies didn't even know that they were so loved already, and Andrew thought back on his Mom. She'd not been alone when she had given birth, but she hadn't had this kind of love all around her.
Andrew's heart squeezed, thinking about how she had done this all alone. No husband at her side, Kim and Jenny there to support her, but no family support without strings attached. Once again he was impressed with the strength of her.
He hoped she was watching over them, her grandkids, and knew that because of what she had done and all of the sacrifices she had made, they were going to live a better life than even Andrew could ever imagine. There was never going to be a day in his kids life where they would think that their parents didn't love him, because Andrew had never doubted his Mom's love for him.
They would never get to meet her, but she would always be there in spirit. His kids would know that while their blood grandma was no longer with them, she had loved them just as much as their parents did.
When it got warmer, and Maxwell was feeling better and healed, Andrew would bring the little ones to meet his Mom. It would be delayed, but he knew that she would understand. Health came first.
Andrew stood next to Maxwell, holding his hand, watching their blended, messy family move about the room and care for every single person in the room. Someone offered Maxwell orange juice, another person asked if he needed another blanket, and Andrew quietly wiped away his tears. They were happy ones, always would be at this point. There was no way he was ever going to cry in sadness again when everyone was so caring.
"You okay?" Maxwell asked softly, turning to care for him and Andrew nearly cracked.
"Yeah." Andrew told him, squeezing his hand tightly. "Just emotional." He admitted and Maxwell smiled at him warmly.
"That's my Andy." The possession in his voice had Andrew swooning. There was nowhere he'd rather be.
