(BL)Alpha Made-Chapter 562: Everyone loves the new couple
It had been a while since Andrew had seen Maxwell in a suit. Well, outside of his wedding suit and his birthday suit, so it was nice to see him all dressed up. His suit impeccable, his face fresh and bright, his hair slicked back without a single one out of place.
He had a truly handsome husband.
It was made better by the fact that Maxwell had even shined his ring for the day, the gem gleaming in the light as he moved his hands elegantly as he ate. Andrew sighed, watching him, in total bliss as the man ate food that he’d prepared.
"What room do you want to be the nursery?" Maxwell’s words took Andrew by surprise. He hadn’t expected the man to even bring that up, wasn’t even on his radar.
"Pardon?" Andrew was so shocked he didn’t even have a good comeback. Maxwell chuckled, turning his dancing blue gaze towards him. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"You know I like to plan, and it’ll be a good distraction. If we need to add any modifications, now is the time." Maxwell added and Andrew blinked. Modifications? To a nursery?
"What kind of modifications would we need to add? At the most we’ll need a crib, a change table, maybe a rocking chair and some toys? What else would we need?" Andrew asked and Maxwell glanced at him, his eyes creasing at the corners when he smiled.
"A door to go from the nursery to the master bedroom?" Maxwell suggested and Andrew’s mouth opened, but he had nothing to say. That was a good idea.
"Oh. Well, I’m fine with whatever room. That’s probably going to be their childhood room so-" Maxwell’s knowing smile had Andrew pausing. "Isn’t it?" He asked cautiously and Maxwell chuckled. It was such a warm sound that it wrapped around Andrew and held him close.
"Baby, are you only going to put one baby in me?" Maxwell asked cockily and Andrew couldn’t breathe. Oh.
"Uh, well, we can discuss after the first birth. I don’t want to put pressure on you." Andrew mumbled, his face warm. Maxwell pushed the chair back he was sitting in, coming close enough to grab Andrew’s face in between his hands and kiss him silly. When Maxwell came up for air, Andrew was staring at him in a daze.
"So, we might have to remodel the house again to adjust the bedrooms. Maybe add an extension on. Probably not for another few years, but good to note." Maxwell’s grin was a little feral and Andrew gulped. "I look forward to our future, Andrew." Maxwell told him. Andrew’s heart wanted to leap out of his chest and land in Maxwell’s hands, bloody and beating. He loved this man.
"Y-You should finish your breakfast so that you can get to work. Otherwise, if you continue to seduce me you’re going to be late." Andrew warned, no bite to his words but his gaze warm, already undressing the perfect man. Maxwell laughed, grinning as he planted another kiss on Andrew’s lips but did go back to his seat.
The knowing glances he gave Andrew were enough to drive the man insane, so Andrew busied himself with starting the prep work on some cookies he was planning to make. Maxwell’s chuckle followed him, toying with him.

Dropping Maxwell off at work was a bit of a situation. Not for any negative reason, but because everyone wanted to congratulate them on their marriage. Everyone was actually quite excited to see their new wedding bands and it didn’t even feel disingenuous. Everyone seriously just wanted to gush with the new couple over their wedding and new life together.
A few people on the taller side caught sight of Maxwell’s neck and the perfect bite mark that Andrew had given him and gasped, glancing towards Andrew. Andrew couldn’t help but puff up his chest, proud to be this man’s partner. That only made the groups they ran into even more excited for them.
Maxwell took the affection from his employees well. He kept himself a little distant, a little cautious, but his people didn’t seem to mind. They knew who Maxwell was, and it was enough for them that they had an Andrew as Maxwell’s counterpart. Someone who was aggressively approachable.
It took Andrew about half an hour to extract himself from the crowds, more than enough time for Maxwell to get to his office and get some work done. It was a proud moment for Andrew that he was able to help Maxwell out like he said he would, and then Andrew escaped using the old ’oh, the alpha team needs me for some tests’ and gave the rest of the onlookers a wave.
Andrew did go to the alpha department, wanting to check in with Dr. Piper and Dr. Cox after the wedding and honeymoon, and to make sure that Richard was actually okay like they had told him the other day.
Even May had assured him that Richard was doing alright, just annoying his soon to be baby daddy. Andrew trusted May, but there were only some things that you could hear from the friends of those you cared for before you would trust the news.
The two girls greeted Andrew with wide smiles and sparkling eyes. Even if they were tired from the extra workload, they were still excited to see Andrew.
Andrew listened to them, answered their questions, showed them some of the pictures Andrew and Maxwell had taken while on their honeymoon in between their moments of, uh, baby making, and the two girls ’ooed’ and ’awed’ at the views and at how sweet Maxwell looked in the one photo Andrew snagged of them out on their city date.
Andrew couldn’t stop the big goofy grin that touched his lips. He just felt a little giddy showing off to them, but he did eventually ask them how Richard was doing. Dr. Cox grew serious, but not in a bad way. She did say that he was still taking on a serious workload since Ellis wasn’t in terrible condition.
That, and Ellis was going to kill him if he didn’t do something to distract himself. While Ellis was scared, Richard was at his side. There was a fear, but it was more for the baby then it was for Ellis at this point. Richard wasn’t getting that memo, worrying for both of them, and Ellis, a patient man, was at his limits.
Dr. Cox had chuckled, a particular look in her eyes as she smiled.
"It’s nice to know that Richard can be so protective. It’s a good thing to see." She said, her smile soft. It was then that Andrew remembered that Bella, Dr. Cox’s child, was the byproduct of an omega father who had abandoned her. This probably was a nice thing for Dr. Cox to see.
Andrew smiled, nodding in agreement. He was going to have to check up on the couple, and check up on everyone in general. Andrew asked Dr. Cox how Maria and the kids were doing and Dr. Cox then went on a ten minute tangent about the kids and what antics Maria was up to. It was good to see that she had made a good friend in Maria.
It was an unexpected, but welcome outcome. Then again, few could resist the charms of Maria, Andrew included.
Andrew eventually bid the alpha department goodbye, chatting to a few of the newer members of the team that he had gotten to know before he left. Andrew even saw a few of the omega leaders that he had gotten close to when he worked there and he stopped to talk to them as well.
Dr. Liu was calmly excited to see him, and even congratulated him on his wedding. Andrew, unable to stop himself, told her that Maxwell and Andrew had bonded, and then explained that they were curious about how he would be able to help their research now that he was on the other side of suppressants. He explained what they had come up with the night prior and Dr. Liu stared at him with wide eyes, before she started laughing.
That stopped him for a moment while Dr. Liu bent in half, laughing so hard she had to hold onto her sides.
Andrew had no idea what he had said was so funny, but she clarified for him shortly after.
"Dr. er, Beckett, you just told me in one breath that you have done something incredible with the CEO of my company, and then go on about how that could benefit other omegas." Her smile reached her eyes when she finally stood up straight. Her dark eyes glistened with such warmth that it almost took Andrew by surprise. "I am glad that you worry about us. Thank you for doing so, and I think that is a rather interesting path to consider. I’m sure I’ll see a more formal proposal on my desk soon, but I appreciate the heads up." She said, all smiles. Andrew wasn’t sure how to feel. Maybe embarrassed that he’d gotten so ahead of himself?
Dr. Liu laughed again.
"I can understand what drew Mr. Beckett towards you, Dr. Beckett. You’re a sweet man who cares deeply for those who they know. I am happy to know that all omegas here are under your protection." She said, and Andrew gave a soft scoff.
"Of course they are. I’m sure it’s similar to the way that they are under your protection as well." Andrew told her and Dr. Liu’s smile grew.
"Exactly." She agreed, and Andrew didn’t quite understand the significance of her statement. They parted ways shortly after that, Andrew going home thinking about what Dr. Liu had said. He did stop by Maxwell’s office to say goodbye, getting a few smirks and a rather public kiss from his husband before he was on his way.
Dr. Liu had made it a big point that Andrew cared about the omegas at Maxwell’s workplace. That just made sense to Andrew. Of course he would, partially due to his own upbringing but also due to the fact that they were Maxwell’s people. They mattered, and their research was important for everyone.
That included alphas, since Richard was now an omega who worked to improve alpha’s living conditions.
Andrew just couldn’t understand her emphasis, and it bothered him even while he made his cookies and plotted out what he was going to do with his afternoon while he waited for Maxwell to come home.
Well, it wasn’t so much of a plot for what he was going to do, but who he was going to approach. He had a younger brother who had done something dangerous and incredible while he was gone. The cookies were a smoke screen. He was going to use them to get his foot in the door and then he was going to question him and make sure he was okay.
And maybe...scold him. Okay, probably scold him a lot. He was going to have to work on his ’I’m not mad, just disappointed’ and Noah seemed like the perfect place to start.
