(BL)Alpha Made-Chapter 323: Moving day
Chapter 323: Moving day
Andrew didn’t get caught. He put on a great act that he hadn’t done a single thing. He’d just gone for tea. He hadn’t just taken one of the large weights off of his shoulders and pretty much just put it into someone else’s hands until they molded it into something beautiful and sparkly that he could give to Maxwell.
So, the week went by, and now the weekend was upon them. Andrew was feeling confident, happy, pleased with himself. He’d gotten away with it. He felt so sneaky. Was this how parents felt when they hid presents from their kids? This was nice.
Their weekend wasn’t a slow one though. It was going to be two very big days full of bossing others around, er, Maxwell bossing other people around. Andrew’s task was to unpack everything that they would need right away and keep everything else tucked away in rooms that weren’t being touched right away.
There was a reason for this chaos so soon. Maxwell was insistent that he wanted to live in the new house at least a few days first before Richard moved in. Not because of any ’this is my house first’ reasons, but because he wanted to know all the places that he couldn’t smell Andrew. All the places he could hide, essentially.
Maxwell was convinced that Andrew’s smell was going to be a problem to Richard when he moved in. Andrew couldn’t exactly say that that wasn’t going to be the case. It was a worry that Andrew had as well, and Maxwell had a uniquely omega view on this. He was going to trust him on this.
So Andrew agreed with him. That meant, as soon as they knew Richard’s discharge date from the capable hands of his Doctors, they were in rush mode. And that date had been announced rather quickly too. Richard was doing quite well, which meant, crunch weekend. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Hence the reason why Maxwell had been in contact and yelling at the contractors earlier in the week. All week. Honestly, ever since they bought the place officially. Maxwell had been arguing and bickering with these contractors the whole time. Andrew was actually convinced that he just liked to bicker with them.
Andrew found out why when he’d stepped into the new house while the moving company pulled up the truck behind them and the contractors were busy at work like little bees.
They were all alphas.
Every single last one of the members of the contracted construction team were alphas. As an omega...it must have been quite the power trip. Andrew was sure that Maxwell was used to being able to boss others around, but at the same time...
Now that Andrew knew what he assumed was up, he could notice the way Maxwell’s eyes sparkled just a little bit more as he watched the alphas move about. Sweating, groaning, complaining as Maxwell complained about the work they were doing.
On one hand, Andrew felt a little bit of sympathy for them. They were just some people trying to get a job done. He was sure they were good people. Maxwell wouldn’t have hired a company with bad reviews.
On another hand, Andrew was enjoying it as well. The part of him that had been a beta for so long was soothed watching this. It probably hurt their pride a bit that their boss was such a pretty man. An omega. Who was greatly displeased with some of the work that they were doing.
Andrew knew, thanks to the two kisses he’d given Maxwell over the video call, that they knew about Andrew, but he didn’t think that they knew about him. So he made sure to show off a bit of his true alpha characteristics as he met the crew, smiling, showing off his fangs. He could see how affected they were by that, especially the ones who weren’t the head contractor.
The minions almost looked like they were horrified as they realised that not only was a higher level alpha involved, a true alpha, but that he wasn’t the one in charge of this reconstruction. Not really. It was all Maxwell, and Andrew was happy to show off just how much Maxwell had him wrapped around his fingers.
He could see how shocked some of them were, but Andrew didn’t care. It was clear that they thought that Andrew would stand up for them. He wasn’t going to. If this was what made Maxwell happy, he didn’t mind. Plus, no one was getting hurt.
Andrew did make sure to take off his shirt while moving things around the house though. That wasn’t an alpha thing, that was to make sure that Maxwell still knew he was around. Andrew only smirked when he felt Maxwell’s gaze on his body. Good.
At least he was still the best looking among all of the young blood alphas.
Jenny and Kim stopped by, obviously living in the area and Kim was all smiles, all sharp fangs as well when she met the construction company. Jenny was all smiles and laughter, and when Andrew asked about their kids, they both sighed.
They wanted to stay home, play games. It was fine. They were obligated to come to the housewarming party once Andrew and Maxwell decided to have it, and their new roommate was more adjusted.
Andrew could feel how every contractor who overheard them looked at Andrew like he was the man, but Andrew chuckled. He knew that they were thinking he was getting another partner, but Andrew wasn’t going to let anyone think of Richard that way. Not even for a damn second.
"Yeah. It’s rather tragic that my brother manifested so late, but it’s great that we have the space and the knowledge to take care of him." Andrew said loud enough that everyone in the immediate area could hear.
Maxwell and Jenny had stared at him like he was a lunatic, but Kim’s lips twitched. Andrew didn’t chalk the fact that they hadn’t picked up on the strange behaviour to them being omegas. He didn’t think being an omega had anything to do with it. He was pretty sure they hadn’t picked up on the behaviour because they were just happy to boss around half naked handsome men.
Andrew was used to seeing how alphas looked at omegas from an outsider perspective, so that’s why he thought he was pretty good at picking up on the vibe that they were giving off. Kim? He did chalk her behaviour up to being a true alpha. She’d been that a lot longer than Andrew, and there were bound to be some things she’d pick up that Andrew wouldn’t.
Kim ordered food for the whole crew. Movers, contractors, Andrew, Maxwell, and made sure that everyone was able to get a break and eat. She got in good with the head contractor, spreading good will while Andrew and Maxwell discussed what they wanted for the kitchen again. Andrew wasn’t aware of it, but since their decoration and design ’conversation’ Maxwell had gotten some samples.
He’d been carrying around a bag all day but Andrew just assumed it was snacks? He was wrong. They were full of samples for different rooms that he wanted to show to Andrew when they had time.
So they were eating pizza while discussing, or more like arguing about what they wanted to make the kitchen counter out of. Andrew wanted something practical, while Maxwell wanted something impractical. Andrew was pointing out that they were going to need to raise and lower the counters, so a heavy stone counter wasn’t going to be the right answer.
Maxwell was pissed, since he wanted a similar kind of stone tops to what he had in the house they were living in right now. He had several samples of different styles of stone, and Andrew was just shooting them down on weight alone.
Until the head contractor overheard their arguments and put some of Andrew’s concerns to rest. While under normal circumstances, Andrew’s concerns would be valid. But, they didn’t really have a budget limit, and they could get specialty pieces made. The hinges could be made thicker, and with regular maintenance they could have a very long lifespan.
It helped calm Andrew’s worry, and obviously made Maxwell feel victorious. Andrew still shot down marble, since he was pretty sure it was still too damn heavy. Maxwell had pouted, but Andrew put his foot down. Maxwell barely cooked, and while he had a better eye for this kind of thing, it wasn’t his feet that would be in danger if things collapsed.
Maxwell finally relented, and they agreed on a quartz countertop. Maxwell had muttered under his breath, and Andrew pretended not to hear the things he was saying about him. He was allowed to mumble, as long as they didn’t get too personal.
Then Andrew would consider punishing him. Probably with tickling him. Or...no, that wasn’t a punishment. Maxwell would like that too much. A punishment that would suit the crime might be...to deny Maxwell kisses?
No. That’d hurt Andrew too much.
It was Andrew’s turn to mumble to himself. He grew a little desperate as he realised he didn’t really know what he could use as a punishment. No blowjobs? Only receiving? That kind of made Andrew feel like an asshole, but that was kind of the only thing he could think of.
Andrew didn’t want to say it out loud, but sex was kind of like...Maxwell’s only hobby. It was work, Andrew, and sex. All three of them were highly involved with each other.
Andrew had to get Maxwell outside more. Get him some more hobbies because that was no life to live. He shouldn’t live just to work, and he shouldn’t live for just Andrew either. Andrew then came to a horrifying realisation. Most of the people around him didn’t have hobbies either.
He was too busy to fully dwell on this new, terrifying fact that he’d realised.
After their food was consumed and Andrew and Maxwell had gone over every sample, the movers left having gotten everything to the appropriate rooms and Andrew unpacked the boxes he needed.
They didn’t have to change much in the master bedroom. The bathroom would need a tub upgrade as well as a showerhead upgrade so that Andrew could shower comfortably and they could have baths together, but it was functional when they had moved it. They had gotten the showerhead changed out immediately, but the tub was ordered and on its way. The closet shelves had been adjusted on one side for Andrew’s sake, with a small rolling step ladder having been added to both for Maxwell’s use.
They were huge closets, and Andrew knew that Maxwell’s was going to be full from day one. Andrew hadn’t even realised how much clothing he had received until he was unboxing it. He’d filled almost a quarter of the space and that fact made his head spin. Maxwell’s parents really hadn’t held back at all.
Andrew finished his task, and when he came back downstairs, the contractors were packing up for the night, the movers were well and truly gone, and Jenny and Kim were still over, helping Maxwell set up the living room.
Andrew could tell by the way his brows were drawn together that he wasn’t happy with the furniture. He wanted new stuff, right now, but it was just slow on arriving. Andrew went over to him, wrapping his arm around him and giving his forehead a kiss.
"Soon, angel. Soon. Have some patience." Andrew told him and listened as Maxwell grumbled.
"I don’t want to be patient. I want it right now." He sounded bratty. Entitled, but Andrew knew that this was a privilege that only he got to see. He held him closer.
"I know, Angel. I know." Maxwell continued to grumble, but wrapped his arms around Andrew, holding him tight. They both stood there, in their new home, quiet. They were taking the next steps in their life. Together.
