(BL)Alpha Made-Chapter 277: Finally, back to normal
Chapter 277: Finally, back to normal
It took another 4 days before Andrew was fully out of his rut, and allowed Michael to enter the home. On the third day he did allow Jenny and Luis to enter and check on them, just to test the waters and bring in the kit that Michael normally used to get a few tests done.
Andrew still felt like he behaved like a caveman, but it was a good sign that he was allowing anyone to enter the home, and when he woke up on the fourth day, he felt almost normal.
Maxwell was glad to hear it. Not because he didn’t like being at home with Andrew, he very much liked it, but because Andrew felt better about the fact that he wasn’t behaving strangely. Andrew wasn’t jumping at his own shadow, or glaring at where he could smell the alpha security guards were. Outside of the house.
So, both Maxwell and Andrew were very excited to go back to work on the fifth day. Andrew was all excited, wearing a new outfit that Luis had brought over for him that she and Thomas had picked out. Maxwell was looking nice in a suit, a few skin-tone bandages on his neck to cover up the still red bite marks on his shoulders.
Michael had checked them. They were healing properly, Maxwell just healed slowly when it came to cuts and bites. At least, that was what they told Andrew, and for his own peace of mind, he believed them. He was pretty sure that most people would have a hard time healing from the bites he’d left. His biggest worry was that he would leave scars. He confided in Michael about it after he had checked Maxwell.
Michael told him that as long as Maxwell didn’t pick at them, they should heal well. Worst case scenario, they would look like little marks, maybe even moles. Andrew kind of knew that Michael was lying to him to make him feel better, and he appreciated it.
He was sure that Michael had seen the after affects of other alphas during their ruts. He was sure that this wasn’t his first time comforting someone over the marks. He assumed that usually it was the omega. Maxwell, however, seemed to be glowing that he had marks from Andrew to show off.
Andrew was sure that if Maxwell couldn’t tell how awkward it made Andrew to see the marks that Maxwell would have been showing them off from the moment he got them. That was how much Maxwell liked them.
Maxwell had also continued to wear a collar since Andrew’s rut. Andrew had asked him about it, since he was surprised to see him wearing it as he had been pulling on his dress shirt for his suit in the closet.
Maxwell had smiled to himself and told Andrew that over the last little bit he’d gotten so used to it that it felt strange not to wear it. He did ask for Andrew’s opinion on which of the ones he’d bought that he should wear.
Thankfully, with his suit, it was hard to see the collar. For some reason, Andrew found his face a little flushed every time he saw Maxwell wearing it. Andrew only knew the collar as a thing Maxwell had worn when he had been at his lowest. Andrew had distinctive thoughts of Maxwell, sprawled on the bed, holding his knees as Andrew pounded into the man.
The velvet collar had been on full display. A shock of darkness against the pale creaminess of his skin. It would be hard to not associate sexual desire to the collar, especially since Andrew had never grown up around omegas or alphas who fell into the norm of secondary sex households.
May was an alpha, and Ford was a beta. They didn’t need to wear collars of whatnot to show that they cared for each other. Their wedding rings were enough. Then, there was his Mom.
His Mom who refused to hold onto anything that her mate had given her except her son and the determination to not need anything from him. His Mom who didn’t live the life of a regular omega because she was already bonded, already mated, to a man who easily gave away his bite, his mark. A man who Andrew didn’t even care to know his real name, who he had no plans to ask.
So, he was coming to terms with the fact that there were quite a few cultural things that Maxwell understood quite well, that Andrew just didn’t get. Maxwell was also understanding that Andrew was smart, but some things just didn’t always land.
It was a nice balance, and so, Andrew dealt with his slight embarrassment every time he saw the collar peeking out from under Maxwell’s collar of his dress shirt, and Maxwell tried his best to comfort his big, loveable alpha who was still embarrassed about his behaviour during his rut. They both were trying to navigate this new life that they were forging with each other, and everyone around them was there to support them.

Andrew was sure his nervousness was clear as he stepped into the company again, Maxwell’s hand in his own. Maxwell had insisted that they hold hands. Said it was too cold to walk the few steps from the car to the door without it. Andrew did believe him, though he was sure that the other man was also lying to provide him comfort.
Maxwell shivered at the lightest breeze, he could only imagine how well he was taking the cold weather.
Maxwell’s hand tightened on Andrew’s, giving it a squeeze as the doors opened and Andrew and Maxwell walked in. They were a little late, Andrew having to change his shirt last minute after he spilled some juice on it. That meant that there were quite a few people in the lobby loitering around. One of them was Ben, who had a visibly pregnant Amir with him.
The couple hadn’t been able to visit Andrew and Maxwell because Ben had been afraid of what Amir’s reaction would be around another alpha who was in rut that wasn’t him. Andrew hadn’t argued with him. Maxwell had said he had been ridiculous, but honestly, Andrew thought it was sound reasoning.
Amir had miscarried once, they had every right to be scared and cautious about the most silly things. Andrew was sure Maxwell agreed internally, he was just being difficult outwardly because Amir hadn’t been on the call, and Ben was his older brother.
There was just something about that relationship that Andrew didn’t fully understand, as he didn’t have siblings in the true sense, but he had Rose and Richard. He knew that even though they had been apart for so long, they did treat each other as more than just friends, and more like family.
No matter how much Andrew tried to downplay how big of a role they had in his life.
"Well, you both look okay." Ben said with a grin as Amir got to his feet. He was showing at this point, and his hand was proudly resting over his hand as he moved his gaze between Maxwell and Andrew.
"You do seem to be more than okay. Max looks like he’s glowing, even though I’m normally drained after your ruts." Amir said, a smile on his face and in his voice. Andrew felt his face flush at they way they were able to speak about it easily. Ben moved towards them, reaching out and squeezing Andrew’s shoulder.
"No need to look so ill, Andy. I have no desire to criticize you. You’re both adults, and we all have our own lives to live. With that said, Amir and I need to get going. Amir’s obsession with Kim’s cafe’s drinks haven’t faded, and he’s about five minutes out from a temper tantrum." Amir’s face turned red. While Ben’s words should have sounded nitpicky, the man looked like he was pleased as punch saying that.
Ben was proud that his partner was pregnant, and that he was able to have these cravings and emotional mood swings. It was sweet, even as Amir smacked and punched his side.
"Ben!" Amir warned, his nose wrinkled as he hit the other man. Ben just laughed.
"What? Isn’t it true? We just wanted to drop in and see them, right? So now let’s go get you your treat, hmm?" Ben’s voice dripped honey, so sweet and cloying that Andrew couldn’t hide his smile.
"It’s alright, Amir. I’m grateful that you two wanted to check up on us. It was nice to also see happy faces as soon as we came in." Andrew told the couple and Maxwell squeezed his hand.
"Don’t let Andy’s words stop you. Yo ucan continue hitting Ben. I’m sure he’s done something to deserve it." Maxwell said, undercutting Andrew’s words and making Amir’s lips turn up in a smile while Ben frowned.
"Look at you. Finally find your partner and now you are disrespecting me in public? Even after Dad has finally gone through the official first steps to hand over the company to me? How terribly rude." Ben huffed, a glimmer in his eyes. Maxwell rolled his own blue ones. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"Oh whatever. That only means you have a 20% share in my company. Dream on if that makes you think you can get whatever you want from me." Maxwell shot back. Andrew, who knew very little of this world, was pretty sure having a 20% stake in his company was a big deal, but wasn’t going to poke that beast.
Instead, he let the siblings ramble on for a little bit longer, poking fun at each other, before Mr. Newman eventually showed his face, looking a little flustered until he saw that Maxwell was at work, just caught up in a bicker match with his eldest brother.
With Mr. Newman showing his face, it was time for the others to officially leave and a few handshakes and hugs later, the couple was gone, and Maxwell and Andrew were back to their work lives.
Andrew was a little nervous about what state the office was in after he had been gone for a while. Nearly two weeks.
