Billionaire's Unforgettable Ex-Wife-Chapter 149 - 127 What your daughter, that child is not yours 2
Chapter 149: Chapter 127 What your daughter, that child is not yours 2
Looking at her at this moment, Hunter Warren couldn’t help but swallow.
She was very beautiful; even though she had two children, her figure still maintained a girlish look.
Recently, he had been thinking about her nonstop, so now he felt a burning sensation.
The command to throw her down kept spinning in his mind.
Faye Townsend looked at Hunter Warren and was also momentarily stunned.
Why was he covered in foam from head to toe?
His bathrobe only covered his lower body, and despite having some foam on his upper body, it couldn’t hide much of his physique.
Her eyes caught his eight-pack abs, and she quickly looked away, "What new game is this in the middle of the night?"
"Game? This is truly the first time in my life that I’ve encountered something so embarrassing.
I was showering, and the water ran out."
As he finished speaking, Faye turned her head and gave a rare smirk, seemingly trying to hold back laughter.
Seeing her expression, he sighed inwardly. Although it was quite embarrassing, seeing her genuinely smile was worth it.
"Why are you coming to me when there’s no water? I don’t produce water."
Her words left him speechless.
"So, are you just going to watch and not help me?"
"I told you to go to a hotel, but you insisted on staying at my place.
This is what you deserve.
Don’t you know people pay for their wrong choices?
I really think you deserve this now."
Hunter Warren raised his eyebrows, "Fine, I can’t communicate with you anymore.
I’ll go ask my son for advice; surely he’d know."
Seeing him turn to leave, Faye quickly grabbed his wrist.
Her palm was warm, as warm as his passionate heart.
He turned to look at her, "What?"
"Explain yourself. What do you mean by ’your son’? That’s my son, nothing to do with you."
"Fine, it’s nothing to do with me, then I’ll just go find Darnley."
"Are you even human? Darnley kindly let you stay, and you’re disturbing his sleep like this."
"Then hurry up and help me figure out what I should do now?"
Faye looked at his ridiculous appearance and raised her eyebrows, "I don’t know."
"Really?"
"Yes." She didn’t want to help him; he should suffer a little.
Hunter Warren raised his eyebrows, a sly smile appearing on his face.
"It doesn’t matter if you don’t know now; you’ll know soon enough."
After he said this, he reached out his long arm, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her into his embrace.
Faye was startled by the sudden pull, and when she came to her senses, she was already held in his arms.
The two of them were pressed closely together; he wasn’t wearing clothes, and she wore only a thin nightdress.
Faye just stood there quietly, both of their gazes somewhat unfocused.
After a long while, Faye pushed Hunter Warren back a couple of steps.
"What are you... what are you doing?"
He pointed at the front of her.
Faye glanced down and saw that her robe, her arms, and neck had all been smeared with foam from his body.
"Hunter Warren." Faye stomped her foot in anger and couldn’t help but let out a low growl.
Hunter Warren started laughing, "Now we’re partners in distress; hurry up and think of a solution."
Faye clenched her teeth and glared at him. After a moment, she muttered, "Follow me."
The two went downstairs, and Faye took drinking water from the fridge into the kitchen and poured it into the kettle.
Hunter Warren walked up behind her, "What are you doing?"
"I bought this little courtyard, which was once lived in by an old couple.
Their home had its own private water storage with a large reservoir.
We’ve been busy these days, and I guess Lucia forgot to fill the tank."
"So, I’m the unlucky lottery winner here?"
With her back to him, Faye pursed her lips. She had encountered this situation once before and dealt with it the same way.
She couldn’t handle filling the water tank herself, and it was too late to ask Lucia to get up and help.
Once the water had warmed slightly, Faye carried the kettle to the bathroom.
Seeing Hunter Warren standing in the living room, Faye glared at him, "What are you standing there for? Don’t you want to rinse off?"
He followed her into the bathroom, and Faye said, "Lean your head over the sink."
Hunter Warren hesitated for a moment, looking at her, "You’re going to wash me?"
"Otherwise, are you going to pour it over yourself with the kettle?
The water is so little, if you pour it into a basin, it’ll just get more foam dirty in one go.
Or... are you going back to the hotel now?
I can lend you my car keys."
Hunter Warren lowered himself forward, resting his head over the sink, "Come on, save some water, I still need to wash my body later."
Faye poured the water while helping to scrub his head.
Hunter Warren lay there and rather enjoyed it, "You’re pretty good at this; it’s quite comfortable.
How come I never knew you had this skill before?"
"I didn’t have it before; I developed it washing the children’s hair after I gave birth.
I have two kids, so my experience is double."
Faye spoke casually, her voice not changing much.
Hunter Warren suddenly fell silent, his eyes fixed on the foam-laden water drops falling from his hair, filled with heartache.
But what right did he have to speak in such a moment?
"Okay." After helping him rinse his head, Faye put down the kettle and pulled out a towel for him to dry his hair, "Wipe your hair, and I’ll go boil another kettle for your body."
"Okay."
He got up and watched Faye walk out. Standing at the bathroom door, he looked at her from afar, her actions of pouring and boiling water skillful and smooth.
Once upon a time, she was a pampered young lady from a wealthy family.
At home, she didn’t lift a finger; everything was managed perfectly for her.
But after meeting him, her fate seemed to change overnight.
She gave birth to two children alone in a foreign land, one of whom was constantly ill.
He couldn’t imagine what kind of willpower she relied on to raise these two children, becoming such an excellent woman and mother.
After the water had boiled, Faye brought the kettle over to him, "Alright, I just checked; the temperature is just right. Use this to rinse your body. I’m heading back."
"You’re not going to help me with the rest?"
Faye glared at him, "Your hands aren’t crippled; if you can’t reach your head, can’t you at least reach your body?"
Seeing her annoyed expression, Hunter Warren started laughing.
She let out a huff and turned to head upstairs, "Crazy."
"Hey, where are you going? Aren’t you going to wash?"
"There’s no water. I’ll just use a towel to wipe upstairs."
After going upstairs, Faye locked the door from the inside. She lifted her left hand and slapped the back of her right hand softly.
"Serves you right, helping him."
She stomped her feet, frustrated beyond belief, Hunter Warren, such a bad omen.
But what was going on with Charles anyway?
He used to say he hated this Second Master Warren, that he would bully him when he grew up to take revenge for her.
Yet tonight, he insisted on helping him.
Could receiving a phone from Hunter Warren really make him change sides?
Was raising this son all for nothing then?
Faye heard the sound of doors opening and closing from the room next door.
A moment later, her phone beeped.
She picked up her phone to check; it was a message from Hunter Warren.
’Faye, we are husband and wife, and I don’t want to say thank you.
What I said at the gate tonight, I meant every word.
I know I’ve wronged you, but I can wait for you. I’ll give you time.
If one day you want to turn around and look back, I’ll always be there.’
Faye looked at the message, her eyes reddening slightly.
These words came too late.
She selected the message, intending to delete it, but with her thumb just above the delete button, she couldn’t press it.
Throwing her phone aside, she covered her ears with her hands.
It’s just words; she shouldn’t be tempted.
You have your life, and he has his.
You are no longer people from the same world.
Faye, you have to be tough, absolutely cannot be soft-hearted. If you soften now, all your previous efforts will have been in vain.
Thinking this, she took a deep breath and nodded, then picked up her phone again. Without any hesitation, she deleted the message.
For some reason, that night, Faye slept quite well, extraordinarily without dreams.
When she got up in the morning, she felt very refreshed.
She went downstairs to help Lucia prepare breakfast.
"Lucia, it seems the reservoir ran out of water last night."
"I noticed this morning, and I’ve already turned on the power to refill it, don’t worry."
Faye nodded, "Let me help you."
"It’s okay, breakfast is almost done. I’m brewing chicken soup for Miya according to a recipe from Eldoria.
Go wash your hands; breakfast will be ready soon."
Faye nodded, washed her hands, and ground a cup of coffee.
Lucia watched her grind coffee in surprise, "Don’t you usually not drink coffee in the morning?"
"This isn’t for me," she said, pointing upstairs, "Last night Darnley sheltered a stray; this is for him."
"A stray? Oh, my heavens." Lucia was a little taken aback.
Just then, the man referred to as a stray came down from upstairs.
His well-dressed appearance relieved Lucia. How could this be a stray?
He was clearly a typical male friend of Faye’s, good-looking and fit.
"Good morning."
Lucia waved at Hunter Warren, "Good morning."
Hunter Warren raised his eyebrows, "You must be Lucia."
"Seems this gentleman has heard about me."
"Darnley said you’ve taken very good care of them, thank you."
"But why... would this gentleman... thank me?" Lucia was bewildered by Hunter Warren’s gratitude.
"Because I am Faye’s..."
"Hunter Warren," Faye interrupted Hunter Warren, placing the cup of coffee on the table with a thud.
"Here’s breakfast, eat up and then leave."
Hunter Warren smiled and walked to her side, speaking in Eldorian, "Look at how nervous you are."
Faye snorted and sat at the table, ignoring him.
Lucia went upstairs to tidy the rooms.
Hunter Warren merely picked up the coffee and took a few sips, and for a moment, his forehead entirely relaxed.
