Billionaire's Secret Twins and Rebellious Wife-Chapter 773: Sibling Murder
Upon hearing Yan Xinxin’s answer, Mu Jingheng’s face lit up with joy and he grasped her hand excitedly.
"Is this true? Really true?"
He pressed for confirmation, his eyes once again reddening.
Yan Xinxin immediately pulled out the examination report she had just completed from her bag, smiling as she handed it to Mu Jingheng.
"Dad, take a look."
Mu Jingheng quickly reached out to take it. As he read the contents, he couldn’t hold back the tears welling up in his eyes.
But he quickly wiped them away with his hand, though the hand holding the report trembled lightly.
"This is wonderful, Yuan is expecting again..."
He expressed his gratitude, lifting his moist gaze.
"Shaoqian caused a scene at your and Chuxi’s wedding, which led to Yuan losing the baby. As your father, I’ve always felt guilty about this. Knowing you’re my precious daughter now makes me feel even more heartbroken and regretful..."
Mu Jingheng sighed heavily as he spoke.
"It’s good... it’s good..."
He murmured.
Yan Xinxin also let out a soft sigh, but her delicate face still bore a smile.
"Dad, you don’t need to feel guilty. It really wasn’t your fault."
"Does Yuan still harbor resentment toward your brother?"
Mu Jingheng hadn’t forgotten the scene of Yan Xinxin holding a knife, intent on avenging her baby against Mu Shaoqian.
Sibling strife—something no parent ever wishes to see.
Yan Xinxin nodded at his words, then shook her head and followed with a faint smile.
"I won’t deny that in that moment, I truly wanted to kill him to avenge my child. But now..."
Yan Xinxin lowered her gaze, looking briefly at her barely noticeable belly.
"No matter what, he, Mom, and I are bound by the ties of blood. Even if I can never return to the Mu family in this lifetime, even if they choose to hate me and loathe me forever, I will never again act impulsively."
Mu Jingheng felt even more helpless and heavy-hearted upon hearing these words from Yan Xinxin.
Standing nearby, Mo Chuxi’s heart ached as well, though his feelings leaned more toward sympathy and care.
"How about we find somewhere to sit and talk? There are too many people passing by here. If someone with bad intentions sees us together and notices Dad gripping Xinxin’s hand so emotionally, it could stir up unwarranted gossip."
Mo Chuxi suggested.
Mu Jingheng immediately let go of Yan Xinxin’s hand upon hearing this. Seeing her small hand slightly reddened, he felt apologetic.
"Yuan, was Daddy too excited just now? Did I hurt you?"
"Not at all."
Yan Xinxin smiled, her crescent-shaped brows and sweet grin seemed to Mu Jingheng like a long-lost innocence.
The previous meeting had been ruined by Ning Zitong, but today, Mu Jingheng finally felt satisfied.
Looking at Yan Xinxin’s bright and cheerful sweet smile, Mu Jingheng felt both comforted and pained.
His little princess, since the accident at the age of six, had walked a thorny path throughout these 18 years.
But thankfully, she’d ended up marrying the Brother Xi she had idolized since childhood.
It was destiny, indeed.
Even through years of separation and estrangement, their mutual yearning to be close to one another remained unquenchable...
After returning home, Yan Xinxin was like a child, overjoyed as if she had just tasted the sweetest candy.
Today, she finally called him "Dad!"
This one word, "Dad," was uttered with such difficulty.
Yan Xinxin was in high spirits today; the baby’s examination showed no issues, and she reunited with Mu Jingheng, filling her with joy.
During afternoon tea time, Mo Qingning skipped happily up to the 16th floor. Seeing Yan Xinxin heading downstairs to the dessert shop, she glanced at Xiao Yize’s empty office before turning to take Yan Xinxin’s hand. The two women happily took the elevator down.
"Saozi, you seem to be in a great mood today. Did something good happen?"
"Hmm... you could say that."
"What’s the good news then? Tell me so I can share in the joy."
"Oh..."
Yan Xinxin thought for a moment and was about to speak when her smile suddenly froze and her steps came to a halt.
Mo Qingning, looking straight ahead, stopped in surprise as well.
"Oh my god!"
