Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 581 - 501: All Cunning People! (Seven Updates)
Yi Luowa slightly furrowed her brows, "Not only could someone as smart as her figure it out, even Danton did, but he just doesn’t want to say it. And as for Queen Haotian, she knows full well that even if she speaks up, there’s nothing she can do about that person."
Long Che propped his face with a hand, "Queen Haotian just pleaded with me, asking me to pressure Emperor Haotian."
"You didn’t agree!" Yi Luowa pursed her lips and smiled, "That Queen Haotian really is clever all her life yet muddled for a moment. How could she think you’d help her handle such personal matters?"
Long Che shook his head in disapproval, "She’s very clever. She first asked me for something she knew I couldn’t agree to, then followed up with something I would have no choice but to agree to."
Yi Luowa pouted, "What a clever woman! Now it’ll be hard for you to refuse her. Dad, don’t tell me she asked you to investigate the incident from back then. With evidence, she could force Emperor Haotian to choose between his son and his sister."
Long Che tilted his head and looked at her, smiling, "You and Queen Haotian not only look alike, but you even think alike."
"It’s just some small schemes women think of—nothing worth mentioning in front of you."
"Then take a guess, how do you think I responded to her?"
Yi Luowa fluttered her long lashes, "You must have pushed this matter onto my husband." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"Hahaha... such clever people!" Long Che quickly stifled his laughter to avoid waking the two children.
"Dad, now that you’ve finished telling me about this, I need to tell you something, too. Just when you were talking to Queen Haotian, Danton almost got into trouble..."
Yi Luowa recounted what had happened to Long Che.
Long Che slightly furrowed his brows, "So how do you plan to root out this spy?"
"Here’s what I’m thinking. See if this works: tonight, let Dapeng and Xiao Luozi monitor the phones of everyone Danton and Queen Haotian brought with them. Tomorrow we’ll pretend to go out for fun. If there’s a mole, they’ll surely make a move."
"And if they don’t dare take action?"
"Heh heh... even if they don’t, it’s fine. Just keep monitoring their calls—I don’t believe they can stay silent forever. Oh, right, Dad, didn’t something go down at the apartment today? Was there any activity on that social media site you mentioned?"
Long Che shook his head, "None."
Yi Luowa pressed her pink lips tightly together, "Could it be two separate groups of people?"
"Before Rui’er comes back, follow through with your plan. Once Rui’er returns, the two of you can strategize together."
"Alright."
"Waa waa..." A baby’s cry came from downstairs.
Long Che furrowed his brows slightly, "The little loudmouth is at it again. Go on, get downstairs, but tell Pengpeng not to come up yet."
Yi Luowa laughed as she ran out.
Pengpeng had been quite upset, but the moment he was in Yi Luowa’s arms, his tears stopped immediately. Yi Luowa playfully tapped his little nose with a laugh.
"Looks like Yi Luowa is just naturally good with kids! No matter who it is, they’re at ease with her." Tong Jiaqi chuckled as he patted Pengpeng’s head, then turned to Mi Xiaosi, who was holding a chessboard, and said, "Xiaosi, since we have guests at home, let’s not disturb. Take this unfinished game between me and Grandpa Charles to the study, and we’ll continue there."
Prince Charles, hearing the mention of the chess game, quickly stood up, "Queen Haotian, you two carry on chatting. We won’t disturb you."
Queen Haotian smiled warmly, "Elders, please go ahead. I’ve intruded upon your game—my apologies."
Prince Charles smiled gently and followed Tong Jiaqi into the study. Once inside, the two old men didn’t immediately settle in to play but instead marveled at how Queen Haotian and Princess Nancy resemble Yi Luowa so much!
Queen Haotian noticed Yi Luowa still walking around the hall holding Pengpeng and said with some concern, "Yi Luowa, why don’t you sit down while holding him?"
Yi Luowa turned her head and looked at Queen Haotian, smiling gratefully, "I’m not tired, Queen Haotian."
"When will your twins wake up? I heard from Danton that they’re absolutely adorable."
"They should wake up soon. Once they’re awake, I’ll bring them down for you to see."
As if summoned by their conversation, before they could say more, they heard Long Che upstairs calling for the nanny.
Not long after, Long Che came downstairs with the nanny, each holding one of the little ones.
Queen Haotian didn’t wait for Long Che to bring the babies over. Instead, she stepped forward eagerly. When she saw the adorable little Sangyu, she froze for a moment. Then, waving to Nancy, she said, "Nancy, come over quickly and take a look! You looked exactly like Sangyu when you were born."
Nancy furrowed her brow ever so slightly and walked over swiftly. Lowering her gaze to look at little Sangyu in Long Che’s arms, she said, "This little one is so cute!"
Sangyu stared blankly at Nancy for not even two seconds before bursting into tears with a loud "Waa—"
Long Che’s expression immediately darkened, and he pulled Sangyu away from Nancy.
Feeling awkward, Nancy looked at Queen Haotian, "Mom, I scared Sangyu."
"That’s odd—she shouldn’t be. You look so much like Yi Luowa. She should feel close to you." Queen Haotian shook her head helplessly, "If I’d known, I wouldn’t have called you over."
"Waa waa..." Sangyu’s cries grew louder. Yi Luowa, distressed by her daughter’s tears, handed Pengpeng over to her mother-in-law and quickly approached Long Che.
"Little Sangyu, look! Uncle brought you a fun toy!"
Before Yi Luowa could soothe her daughter, Danton started waving a laughing doll in front of Sangyu.
Sangyu immediately stopped crying and let out a series of giggles.
