Billionaire Legacy: I Became Overpowered With My Spending System-Chapter 66 - Friendship and Boldness
Chapter 66: Chapter 66 - Friendship and Boldness
Heading into the reaction testing room, the doors slowly shifted shut behind him.
Multiple lights lit up on the back wall, revealing holes the size of tennis balls.
’So I got to dodge whatever shoots out there,’ Logan thought, nodding.
Turning to a hologram device embedded inside one of the walls, he pressed a button to start the first round.
Slowly, a countdown showed up on the back wall, counting down from ten.
’Let’s do this,’ Logan thought, getting into a proper stance to dodge whatever was coming his way.
As the countdown reached zero, a small light flashed before a green ball flew out of the wall.
Logan could easily respond, stepping aside to dodge the ball before it got close to him.
Standing still again, he waited for the next ball.
After three seconds, two flashes of light appeared on the wall, shooting out two balls at the same speed.
Logan dove down, dodging both with relative ease once again.
Standing back up, two more lights flashed before two balls shot out of the holes, this time faster than before.
’So this is how they increase the difficulty,’ Logan thought, preparing himself for the next volley of balls.
Slowly but surely, the difficulty increased as more balls shot out at faster speeds.
Eventually, eight balls shot out at the same time, some even curving in the air before hitting Logan.
’Damn,’ he thought, seeing the test had ended. ’That last one was different.’
Looking at his results, Logan nodded, satisfied, as the door opened behind him.
’’I reached the final level of difficulty stage 3,’’ Logan read. ’’Meaning my reaction speed and body coordination should be around a high Bronze rank.’’
Walking out into the hall, he passed another waiting student and found Julien walking through the corridor, seemingly having just left another room.
Julien raised his head high upon seeing Logan, clearly believing himself to be far superior.
’Weirdo,’ Logan thought, continuing on without much care.
Stepping out of the corridor back into the main area, Logan joined Robert on the bench.
’’Is Grant taking his tests now?’’ Logan asked him, sitting down.
’’Yup,’’ Robert nodded, pointing towards Grant near a speed measuring device. "I’ll need to go now as well though."
’’Ah, good luck then,’’ Logan said, giving Robert a pat on the shoulder.
’’Yeah, thanks,’’ Robert said, standing up. ’’Just wait for me here, it’ll only be a few minutes.’’
Sitting alone on the benches, it didn’t take long before other students noticed and headed over to strike up a conversation.
’Ugh,’ Logan thought, putting on a polite smile.
After being forced to hear cringey lines for a while, Grant and Robert returned one by one, causing most students to back away and excuse themselves.
"They’re just like a bunch of flies swarming a pile of shit," Grant remarked with a slight frown.
"Appreciate that," Logan replied, shaking his head with a smile. "Glad to know where I stand."
’’Oh,’’ Grant said, scratching his head while Robert started laughing. ’’I didn’t mean it that way.’’
Logan started chuckling, Grant following right after.
After they calmed down again, Logan remained silent for a while before he turned to them.
’’Say,’’ he started. ’’What are you guys planning to do later?’’
’’Later?’’ Robert asked, still wiping away a tear.
"As in, after our time at the university," Logan added, glancing over the field of students.
’’I don’t know yet,’’ Robert replied, shaking his head. ’’I’ll probably dive dungeons and help my father whenever possible.’’
Logan nodded, turning to Grant next.
’’What about you?’’
’’I’ve never really thought about it either,’’ Grant admitted, scratching his chin. ’’I’ll probably keep working with my dad though.’’
Logan nodded with a small smile.
’’What about you, Logan?’’ Robert asked, turning around.
Logan paused for a moment, collecting his thoughts.
’’I plan to keep growing my company and become one of the strongest,’’ Logan said, his voice firm. ’’No matter what happens, those goals will never change.’’
Grant and Robert exchanged a look, taken aback by his certainty.
"That’s... a big goal," Grant said with a wide grin. "But I wouldn’t expect anything less from you."
’’Same,’’ Robert nodded, smiling.
After a while, Professor Li finally announced the end of the training.
’’Both groups have finished, which marks the end of this lesson,’’ he said loudly. ’’Your current ratings with a few tips will end up in your student mail before the end of the day.’’
’’You can all go now,’’ he continued. ’’But don’t forget about tomorrow’s mana control class.’’
’’Finally,’’ Grant muttered, not liking sitting still.
’’Come on,’’ Robert said, pushing his elbow into Grant’s side. ’’It wasn’t that bad to spend some time talking with us.’’
As they stood up, they regrouped with Thomas and Layla before leaving the room.
’The class took three hours,’ Logan thought, surprised by how fast the time had gone by as they walked through the corridors.
’’What are you guys planning on doing now?’’ Logan asked, turning to the others.
’’I’ll head back to eat something and cultivate for a few hours,’’ Thomas spoke up, to which the others nodded.
’’Alright, then I’ll do the same,’’ Logan responded, nodding in agreement to their plans.
’I’ll use that time to get my fastfood research started,’ he thought, satisfied.
Walking down the corridors, they reached a point where they would split up to head to their rooms. freewebnσvel.cøm
Before splitting up, Grant turned to Logan.
’’Do you want to go spar again tonight?’’ Grant asked, smiling.
’’Sure,’’ Logan responded, happy to gain more experience.
’’Good, good,’’ Grant said, smiling broadly. ’’Then I’ll see you tonight.’’
"Until tonight," Logan said with a nod, saying his goodbyes to the others before heading to his own room.
After the others left his sight, Logan noticed a skinny boy with chaotic hair approaching him.
"Hey, uh... I know this is probably super weird to ask, but... you wouldn’t be open to, like, sponsoring someone? Just a little help. Doesn’t even have to be money, just gear, better food, anything."
"I—what?" Logan blinked, yet to see someone this bold.
"Sorry, forget I said anything," the boy mumbled, backing off. "Had to try."
The boy disappeared around a corner just as quickly as he’d approached, leaving Logan stunned—unsure whether to applaud his boldness or get annoyed by his nerves.
