Billionaire Legacy: I Became Overpowered With My Spending System-Chapter 62 - Benefits
Chapter 62: Chapter 62 - Benefits
Glancing at the ring, he knew he no longer had to worry about anyone discovering his system items as long as he stored them inside.
’The mana drain at the start should have been the binding process,’ he thought, glancing at the card. ’No one else should be able to access it other than me.’
As for how he was able to access it even though someone else clearly used it before?
He had no idea.
’It might be the system,’ he thought. ’The old owner could also be dead or something.’
Remembering the Flaming Body manual, Logan nodded.
’’The system must have some kind of fetish for taking dead people’s stuff,’’ he mumbled, smiling.
Turning to the space ring, Logan poured in a small mana strand again, planning to count exactly how many stones he had and what the herbs and manuals were.
Logan spent nearly half an hour sorting mana stones and examining the manuals and herbs inside the ring.
’Whoever this used to belong to wasn’t exactly organized,’ Logan thought, shaking his head in misery as he dug through the manuals.
’I can’t even read half of these,’ Logan thought, dumping them in a corner. ’The only ones I can read seem to have some relation to water-type technique’s.’
After browsing through some of the water-type technique’s, he could follow parts of the instructions, but not enough to fully grasp the techniques.
’None of these texts mention anything about affinity. Instead, the only thing I could find had something to do with bloodlines,’ he thought. ’Whatever that might mean.’
Sorting through the herbs next, Logan found some very potent flowers that seemed to be at least S-rank.
’Great, these herbs will be a big help—and they’ll earn me some money too.’ he thought, happy. ’There are just two fire-type herbs, while water and lightning each have four.’
He planned to sell the water and lightning herbs through the auction house and use the two fire herbs himself during cultivation.
Finally, he’d sorted the stones and figured out exactly how many he had.
’18 fire stones, 19 water stones, and 16 lightning stones,’ he thought, glancing at the three piles.
’That should be all,’ he mumbled, letting out a deep breath.
He had no clue how long the stones would last during cultivation, but he was certain they’d help him make up a part of the two-year gap. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
’While it might not be a great solution long-term, they’ll do for now,’ he thought. ’I reckon, once I redeem a larger amount of money, I’ll be able to find something more permanent.’
Logan looked at the time and decided to cultivate for two hours using the stones before heading to bed.
’Tomorrow, I’ll begin hiring people to research the food chain business,’ he thought, sitting down cross-legged on his bed.
The next day, Logan woke up at 6 AM once again and looked at his watch, which displayed over twenty unread messages.
’’What happened?’’ Logan mumbled, rubbing his eyes.
’’Did a bomb go off or something?’’ he muttered, looking at the number of messages.
Seventeen of them were worried messages from his friends.
’’Oh,’’ Logan said, starting to feel guilty. ’’I guess I forgot to send them a message after meeting with the SSS-rank.’’
He’d been so caught up with the system and the mana stones afterward that he completely forgot about them.
’Who would’ve thought that the dense mana inside the stones would boost my cultivation speed by three times though,’ he thought, shaking his head.
Now he only needed to cultivate for a little more than two months to reach the Silver Core stage.
’I’ll probably reach the Silver Core stage a month and a half after Grant and Robert,’ he thought, knowing how close they were. ’Which might be for the best, since I still need to improve my mana control and physique before the breakthrough.’
Glancing at the hologram, he quickly replied to their messages, apologizing and explaining that the meeting had taken longer than expected.
Looking at the remaining messages, he found messages from Silas, Edric, and surprisingly the board member in charge of all legal representation, Marissa Caldwell.
’’Huh,’’ Logan said, opening Marissa’s message.
’’An update on Harold’s situation,’’ he mumbled, his eyes widening as he stared at the message.
’’He’s received a lifetime sentence and all his assets will be transferred back to the company later today,’’ he read.
Logan couldn’t help but feel some pity for Harold, a wry smile appearing on his face.
’I still think he’s being used as a scapegoat,’ he thought, shaking his head. ’His Platinum Core was broken, and he’s spending a life sentence for something he likely didn’t even do.’
Though, the additional assets were a big plus for him.
’That’s over two billion dollars being added to our liquid holdings,’ he thought, a satisfied grin forming on his face.
He knew how much this would help with his food chain plan.
Opening the messages from Silas and Edric, he found that they were just casual topics, nothing that needed his attention right away.
Swiping to another tab, Logan checked the time and decided to get dressed in his training clothes.
’I’ll do a quick workout before changing clothes and heading to class,’ he thought, stepping out his door.
Heading over to the packed training areas, Logan managed to sneak into one of the special treadmill rooms with a VR setting.
’Let’s do some actual difficult running this time,’ he thought, smiling as he selected a high mountain.
After almost half an hour went by, Logan stepped out of the training room, breathing heavily.
’That was something else,’ he thought, no longer smiling. ’No one told me the room would lower oxygen levels to match the mountain’s height.’
Heading back to his room, Logan felt a pang of hunger in his stomach.
’’The first class is only in around an hour,’’ he mumbled. ’’I should order something to eat before I go.’’
Even though he’d held back and stopped partway through, he wasn’t sure he could recover his strength in time for the assessment unless he ate something soon.
