Chapter 61: Chapter 61 - Space Ring And Mana Stones

[Redeeming 1 billion US Dollars...]

Logan glanced anxiously at the system interface, hoping for something worth his money.

[Ding!]

[Congratulations! You have successfully received a Medium-Grade Space Ring!]

Logan frowned, a deep black ring appearing inside the palm of his hand.

He’d never even heard of a space ring before.

’What the hell is this?’ he thought, taking a closer look at the ring.

On the outside of the ring sat engravings that looked nothing like anything he’d ever seen before.

Holding it up to his eye, Logan found text he could read inside the ring.

"Black Halo T7," he read, causing his eyebrows to raise.

When he searched the name on his hologram, only a few decorative angel rings for cosplay showed up.

"That did not help," Logan shook his head, staring at the ring.

’Surely the system wouldn’t give something that could hurt me,’ he thought, bringing the ring close to his finger.

Pushing it on his ring finger, Logan immediately felt mana drawn from his core towards the ring.

’What’s this?’ he thought, trying to pull it off.

But it was of little use—the ring stayed on until it stopped draining mana from him.

Suddenly, the ring flashed a red light, making Logan alert.

Logan only relaxed after a minute passed without anything happening.

’What the hell is this ring?’ he thought, observing it closely on his finger. ’And how is it worth 1 billion?’

He sighed, knowing the system wouldn’t give him an explanation either.

While he thought about an explanation, a small mana thread rushed towards the ring.

Suddenly, Logan held a small black card in his hand.

"What?!" Logan shouted, dropping the card as he jumped back and knocked over his chair.

He stared at the card on the floor, tense. For a few seconds, nothing happened.

Then, cautiously, he stepped forward remaining on high alert.

[BLACK HALO T7 - STORAGE DEVICE MANUAL]Manufacturer: Black Halo SystemsRegistry Code: T7-Ring-ClassStorage Capacity: 100 cubic metersAccess Type: Mana-Bound and Blood-BoundWarning: Do not use on living creatures.

"..."

Logan was speechless.

He turned the card around and read the short introduction to the ring.

’This... this is unheard of,’ he thought, his mouth wide open.

Glancing at a stack of papers on his desk, Logan put his hand on it and focused.

Not even a second later, the stack of papers vanished into thin air.

Pushing some mana into the ring, Logan saw the inside of a spacious compartment.

’Wow,’ he thought, marveling at the ring.

Glancing around the compartment, Logan noticed something else. ’What is all of that?’

Inside the corner of the compartment, he found a small pile of stones in all kinds of different colors, a few herbs he’d never seen before, and some paper manuals.

"Was this someone else’s before?" Logan wondered, looking at all the items.

He shook his head, forcing himself to stay focused. ’Before I do anything, I need to see how to get the items out,’ he thought.

Focusing on the stack of papers in front of him, Logan sent a small mana thread towards the ring.

Opening his eyes, he found the stack of papers back on his desk.

"Damn," he muttered, scanning through the stack of papers to make sure it wasn’t damaged.

"And I suppose the items stay inside the ring until I pull them out?" Logan mumbled, glancing at the pile of items still inside the ring.

Logan wasn’t sure what to do—or if it was even safe to take these unknown items out.

After contemplating for a bit, he decided to do it.

’I have my bodysuit on,’ he thought. ’So I should be relatively safe no matter what comes out.’

Pushing a mana thread inside, a small glowing blue stone appeared in Logan’s hand.

After a few seconds of nothing happening, he let out a sigh of relief.

"Now what is this stone?" Logan mumbled, holding it closer to his eye. "And why do I feel such incredibly dense water mana inside?"

Putting the stone with water aside, he decided to pull out an orange stone.

"This stone has fire mana inside?" Logan mumbled, inspecting it.

After a quick look, he gripped it firmly in his hand.

’I might have an idea what these stones are,’ he thought, glancing at it. ’If it goes wrong, I’ll stop immediately.’

He closed his eyes and channeled a thin thread of mana into the stone.

The moment his mana touched it, the stone flared up. freewēbnoveℓ.com

A warmth slowly spread up his arm, reaching his core in no time.

"This is..."

Mana kept flowing out of the stone, drifting into his core with no intention of stopping anytime soon.

Logan’s eyebrows raised as he inspected his core.

The fire mana threads from the stone were dense, strengthening his core at speeds he had never reached before.

’The mana also isn’t as aggressive as other external products,’ he thought, speechless.

He put the stone aside and took a deep breath, a wide grin slowly spreading across his face.

"I’ve absolutely hit the jackpot with this system draw," he said, almost laughing.

Still grinning, Logan turned his attention back to the ring and began searching through the pile of stones, finding more blue, yellow, and orange ones.

Looking at the manuals and herbs, he decided to check them out later.

Logan glanced at the ring, excitement in his eyes before the realization set in.

’’Wait a second,’’

"Where did this come from?" he mumbled, glancing back at the ring.

He searched the name Black Halo Systems up once more, just in case.

But nothing popped up.

That alone told Logan enough.

The more realistically he thought about it, the more a dreadful realization set in.

’If something like this existed on Earth, it would’ve been mass-produced and distributed everywhere,’ he thought, shaking his head.

There was only one conclusion left.

This ring wasn’t from here.

He looked out his window at the stars in the dark sky.

’So, either something else is out there,’ he thought, a bad feeling creeping in as he remembered the text in the Flaming Body manual, ’or there’s a civilization underground that’s far more advanced than us.’

’Both situations are terrible for us,’ he thought, shaking his head.

Logan sat in silence, completely lost in thought.

Many questions ran through his head, none of which he had answers to.

After sitting in silence for a while, Logan shook his head.

’I can’t let this bother me,’ he thought, determined. ’Even if there’s something out there, sitting here thinking about possibilities is useless.’

’Every second I waste thinking is a second I could have used to strengthen myself in case something happens.’

Looking at the ring, he smiled softly.

’This will come in handy in the future,’ he thought, a broad smile on his face. ’As for the stones, they’ll increase my cultivation speed immensely.’
