Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 312: Aikess’ Anger Management
The Void Leviathan burst through the Phoenix’s hellfire, its serpentine body twisting through the air as it slashed forward with its clawed hands. Space itself shattered at its touch, forming spiralling black rifts that sucked in everything around them.
The Phoenix, undeterred, flared its flaming wings, creating a wave of searing golden fire that swept across the battlefield. The two attacks collided, and the resulting impact shook the planet to its core.
One could almost hear the painful scream of the Planet’s Consciousness as it lamented its misfortune.
A shockwave of destruction blasted outward, carving deep trenches into the ground and sending massive boulders flying like weightless debris. The mere aftershocks of their battle reached the far-off spectators, sending them into a panic.
People screamed, desperately trying to flee as despite the great distance, the sheer pressure and devastation left them breathless, their bodies trembling under the immense power of the two titanic creatures.
The Planet Lord and members of the royal family, all of which were Deities, sprang into action, unleashing their own powers to form immense barriers that shielded the terrified citizens.
But even their combined efforts couldn’t fully contain the devastation.
The Void Leviathan and the Phoenix continued their battle without a care for the poor planet, their strikes carving through the land and sending magma geysers spewing into the air.
A swing of the Leviathan’s tail tore through space, sending a whirlpool of Void energy slamming into the Phoenix’s body. The impact sent the flaming beast reeling, parts of its burning feathers scattering into the sky.
Yet, the moment the Phoenix’s flesh was torn, its wounds caught fire and regenerated instantly, not a single mark remaining.
The Void Leviathan, however, wasn’t as fortunate.
The Phoenix retaliated with a blinding burst of solar fire, striking directly at the Leviathan’s coiled body. Its shadowy flesh burned and twisted, deep gouges forming as the extinction flames ravaged its body.
The Leviathan screeched in agony, its black blood spilling onto the battlefield like an inkstorm. Unlike the Phoenix, its wounds did not regenerate.
After all, the Phoenix was a Beast of the END, wielding the power to bring about the END. Wounds inflicted by it did not heal easily—if they could heal at all.
But the Void Leviathan’s power was just as lethal to the Phoenix. If the Phoenix’s armour of flames weakened for even a moment, the Void energy would seep into its soul, corrupting and consuming it.
The two continued clashing in the sky, the Pheonix’s flames carving fiery arcs in the sky while the Void Leviathan’s presence corrupted space, its presence devouring the light around it.
Every time its fangs sank into the Phoenix, void energy surged forth, attempting to erode the extinction flames, but the Phoenix screeched in defiance, its wounds igniting and sealing shut as if burning the corruption away.
The Leviathan lunged, its massive jaws gaping wide, but the Pheonix twisted mid-air and dodged, unleashing a blaze with the force of a collapsing star.
In response, the Leviathan gathered its Void power, condensing it into a sphere of absolute darkness—an artificial singularity born from an extreme compression of Void power.
It hurled the attack towards the Phoenix, and the two devastating forces met in an apocalyptic collision that ripped apart the planet’s atmosphere and magnetic fields.
’Oh, this is bad.’
That thought flashed through Jamie’s mind as he released cosmic energy, forming a massive spatial barrier to protect the planet below and isolate the space around the two battling existences.
But his hastily constructed spatial isolation barrier was shattered by the power of their clash, their unleashed energies erupting in a blinding surge of light.
When the light died down, the body of the Void Leviathan crashed to the ground. A blinding explosion erupted upon collision, vaporizing the entirety of the tournament arena battlefield.
Smoke and flames spiralled high into the sky as the beast’s body burned, disintegrating into countless particles of light. The laws of summoning took hold, forcefully banishing the defeated creature back to the void from whence it came.
Orikar stood frozen, his breath caught in his throat. His legs gave out, and he collapsed to his knees, staring at the ruptured space where his strongest summon had once occupied.
The Phoenix, still burning like a second sun, descended slowly, its gaze locked onto him.
Watching this scene, Jamie chuckled.
"Well, that was fun."
Dusting off his hands, he strolled toward Orikar, who, pale with fear and disbelief, scrambled backwards, dragging his body away.
"This... this isn’t possible," Orikar stammered. "How can you have such power?!"
For millennia, he had reigned supreme across Kaelithis and the surrounding planets, convinced that few could match him in summoning. His confidence had only solidified after forming a contract with the Void Leviathan—his ultimate trump card which had just been defeated.
And because his confidence had soared so high, the sting of defeat cut even deeper.
"Come on dude. You’re just an Inferior Mid-Tier Deity. Did you think you were invincible just because you could summon High-Tier Deity Realms?"
Jamie rolled his eyes as he walked closer to Orikar, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he continued.
"Oh well, watching you break would normally be fun, but honestly, that kind of thing isn’t as entertaining these days."
Orikar’s expression of disbelief slowly twisted into anger, glaring at Jamie as he released law energy in his soul.
He lashed out, sending a surge of telekinetic force to blow Jamie away, but Jamie simply caught the invisible telekinetic arms with his bare hands and crushed them with ease.
Still defiant, Orikar’s gaze snapped toward the direction he sensed Planet Lord’s location and called out.
|Unseal the Keystone! Let’s use its power to kill him! We can summon one of the Hero’s invincible summons and end him|
Jamie followed his line of sight and spotted the Planet Lord gripping a runed-inscribed box.
Then, he burst into laughter.
|Bahahaha! I almost forgot about that! You seriously think your ’Stellar Keystone’ is gonna save you against me, of all people?|
Orikar, still clinging to his belief in victory, forced himself to his feet. A staff materialized in his grip, and as he slammed it into the ground, a portal ripped open.
From within, his true body emerged and he instantly returned his soul to it, sending his adopted son’s body through the portal for safekeeping.
His full Deity Realm aura exploded outward as he bellowed—
|Sylvastion was the greatest Summoner in history! No matter who you are, you cannot defeat the summons called forth by the Stellar Keystone—his legacy!|
Orikar’s bold declaration only made Jamie laugh even harder, clutching his stomach as his laughter echoed through the ruined battlefield.
|Hahahahaha! Oh, this is priceless! Seeing you so clueless is absolutely hilarious!
Stellar Keystone? Hero’s legacy? Your so-called ’Hero’ stumbled upon a fragment of my power over a million years ago. He mistook it for some divine blessing and claimed it as his own. How laughable!|
Before Orikar or the Planet Lord could even begin to process Jamie’s words, he casually extended his hand.
The box clutched in the Planet Lord’s grasp shattered instantly, revealing the rhombus-shaped stone within.
The moment it was exposed, the stone shot straight into Jamie’s palm.
A blinding light erupted from it as it released an overwhelming amount of spatial power, far greater than anything the Kaelithians had ever imagined it could produce.
All that overwhelming power surged into Jamie’s body, and within moments, the once-radiant stone dimmed, its energy completely drained.
Now nothing more than an ordinary rock, Jamie lazily tossed it back to Orikar.
|Here. Have your ’Keystone’. |
"You..." Orikar whispered, his voice filled with terror.
"Me," Jamie said with a smirk.
Before Jamie could say another word, a third voice echoed from behind him.
|And me as well.|
"huh?"
Jamie had barely turned around when something massive—a curved appendage of bone and keratin—descended with terrifying speed. It pierced straight through the top of his skull.
The flames surrounding the appendage spread to his head, and in an instant, his silver hair was ablaze.
|What the hell?! Are you insane?!|
|I should be asking YOU that!! You promised to visit every millennium, and you went and broke that promise 15 times in a row! |
The Phoenix—Aikess—screamed back at Jamie, their brow twitching in annoyance.
|I was asleep for 12,000 years, you dumbass! Didn’t you get the memo?!|
|I know you’ve been awake since last year! So why the hell didn’t you come over?!
And now you just summon me out of nowhere to beat up some snake and think you can just send me back like nothing happened?!|
Aikess’ words revealed that their summoning should have expired after they defeated the Void Leviathan.
Yet, they were still here.
The reason? They had used their own power to extend the summoning, increasing the percentage of their full strength they could use in this dimension. They had stayed silent while Jamie spoke to Orikar because they had been busy with this, but now that they were done, it was time to vent 15,000 years’ worth of pent-up grievances.
Jamie, having already extinguished the flames in his hair, shouted back in exasperation.
|Can’t you use that birdbrain of yours to figure out that I didn’t visit because I had more important things to do?!|
|You motherfucker! Don’t you dare insult me!|
|Oh, I just did! What’re you gonna do about it, BIRDBRAIN?!|
Being called ’birdbrain’ not once, but twice, sent Aikess into a rage. The flames on their body flared violently, melting the earth beneath them as they swung their wing at Jamie with full force.
|You stupid bird, don’t destroy this planet! There are important people here!|
|You think I give a damn about some random planet?!|
