There was no mistaking the words Shuu said at the moment. They sounded like farewell, and it made everyone take a deep breath out of fear of what would happen next.

They all looked at Emperor Kaiden immediately to see what his reaction was. But the Emperor had gone quiet, and he was currently not moving. The look in his eyes made everyone shiver.

"Shuu, don’t do anything stupid and come back here. This is an order and you better obey...Shuu-!"

Kaiden yelled in hopes that Shuu would listen to him. But Shuu just chuckled at him and shook his head.

"It’ll be alright. The kids are young, so they would likely forget me soon. But as for you...please take care of them for me."

Shuu’s voice sounded sad, and everyone watched as his weak and fragile body was suddenly filled with silver light.

"T-That is...Goddess’s power? No, it feels different and yet similar...what is that?"

Kaiden’s eyes widened as he sensed that sudden burst of power as well. But instead of feeling awe, he felt a sense of dread inside his heart. He knew what that familiar power was and what unleashing it would mean for Shuu’s body.

"Shuu, don’t be a fool and come here. Don’t you dare-! Your body cannot handle it-"

"I know. But this is all I can do. I am sorry that I was not able to do better."

Shuu sounded incredibly sorry, and Kaiden felt more and more hopeless by the second.

The silver light was purifying the area, and it was also putting anyone who touched it into a deep and peaceful slumber. Even Kaiden, who was able to resist this power usually, was slowly falling under it.

"Mother, no-!"

"Shuu-!"

The last thing Kaiden watched was Caelis and Rin running toward Shuu at full speed. But the kids were being pushed back by that power as well.

Shuu’s body was not taking the pressure well, and it was slowly breaking. And he did not look back, even as he faded away at the last second.

Caelis’s hands tried to touch Shuu, but he was not able to hold him. But Rin somehow made it to Shuu and grabbed that light directly.

However, Rin was just an ordinary human without any special powers, and that power immediately eroded the curse on him. His brown hair and brown eyes flashed in surprise before his body evaporated as well.

"Caelis, I-"

Both Shuu and the kids disappeared, leaving Lady Canarie behind on the ground. She was currently sleeping, but there was no trace of the goddess’s blessing left in her body.

And she was not the only one who had lost this blessing. Princess Danielle and even the priests had lost it.

"W-What did that demon do to us? O-Our blessing...the symbol of our power...he took it all away. Emperor Kaiden, what kind of demon did you bring here? He caused such a mess-"

Frosted eyes made the priest go quiet, and no one else dared to move. They all waited to see what would happen next.

Caelis was the first to move, and the expression on his face was unlike anything anyone had ever seen before.

"Tsk, it seems like they managed to snatch mother from right under our noses again. So, what are we going to do now?"

Everyone looked shocked to hear Prince Caelis speaking so calmly and without sounding childish. Even the voice that came out of him did not seem to be normal.

But it was Emperor Kaiden’s expression that made everyone scared for their lives. He looked like he was out on a conquest, and he would not forgive anyone who said otherwise.

"What else are we going to do? We are going to make sure to bring Shuu and Rin back. They might have lost their physical form, but their souls are not dead. As for this world...I no longer need it, so it can fall into ruins for all I care."

Kaiden’s words sounded detached. His eyes held no care and no light.

Everyone suddenly felt like the Emperor was an enemy they needed to save themselves from. But there was no way for them to be able to do it.

After all, as soon as that light had faded, they all had lost their abilities as well...except the Emperor.

"Nephew, what nonsense are you talking about? That demon just made us all lose the goddess’s blessing and you-"

Kaiden immediately had Duke Inferno’s neck in his hold.

"Goddess’s blessing? That goddess you spoke of long abandoned this world. The only reason I continued this ruse of ’goddess’s blessing’ over all these years was because Shuu’s soul existed here. But now that he’s gone, I no longer need it."

The world suddenly started to break apart, and everyone looked horrified.

"E-Emperor Kaiden, what are you doing-?"

"Tsk, can’t you tell, you idiot? He lost the only thing keeping his sanity together, so he’s going to make sure this world no longer exists soon."

Nero jumped into the room as well, and he looked to be on edge. Those who were hopeful that he would help quickly gave up and decided to look at Prince Yunn for safety.

But one look was enough to tell them that he won’t be any help.

"If this is what you want, then I have no desire to stop you, brother. I just wish you all the best in your next journey."

Yunn’s indifference made even Princess Danielle twitch, and she looked at him with a horrified expression. But she soon realized that he was telling the truth.

He did not care whether he died or lived. As long as it was his brother’s wish, he could endure anything that came his way.

"Don’t worry. You were good to Shuu, so we will make sure your soul reaches another world. As for everyone else...it’s goodbye."

Caelis spoke all this with a smile, but it only served to horrify them even more.

This was the moment they all knew they would die for their sins against Shuu and the Emperor.
