Belated Moonlight: He Regretted Only After I Left-Chapter 118: Eighteen Young Models for Shane Donovan
As the engagement feast approached, Evan Hughes and a few others returned to Crestfall early to join in the excitement.
A few close friends specially opened a large private room at the club to welcome Evan Hughes back.
Evan Hughes lazily sank into the sofa, with one arm casually resting on the shoulder of a nearby young model, his fingers twirling a glass of whiskey, the ice cubes clinking against the glass with a crisp sound.
He glanced sideways at the circle of party friends surrounding him, the wildest bunch in the Kaelon circle.
"Tsk, I say, have you noticed?" a blonde-haired guy spoke lackadaisically, successfully drawing everyone’s attention, "Our Young Master Donovan hasn’t come out to hang with us for a while, right?"
A nearby young master in a floral shirt immediately chimed in: "He’s the president of Innovatech Bio, not quite like us idle rich boys..."
"Before, when he returned to Riveria a few times, didn’t we always gather? Damn! He gets engaged, and he’s just gone, probably had his soul taken by that little girl from The Sterling Family!"
"Hahaha!" Everyone burst into laughter.
Another sleek-haired man winked and teased: "Young Master Donovan used to be so aloof, and now he’s turned into the perfect fiancé! I bet once the engagement feast is over, he’ll be tied down for good, calling him out to have fun again? Tough luck!"
Evan Hughes tilted his head back, downed his drink, smacking his lips as mischievous ideas bubbled up: "No kidding! Just think, going out to have fun without Shane Donovan’s cold face to keep order, how dull!"
His eyes shifted, and he suddenly sat up straight, slapping his thigh: "No way! We can’t just let him ’settle down’ like that! Before he steps into the marriage grave, we have to give him a proper lesson! Let him experience the ultimate madness one last time!"
"Young Master Hughes, how are you planning to play?" the guy in the floral shirt perked up.
Evan Hughes grinned wide, his smile roguish and sly: "Get him out here! Today I’ll get him eighteen young models, short ones, tall ones, every type imaginable! Let him be dazzled! Let’s see if he still remembers that little lawyer at home!"
"Holy crap! Young Master Hughes is amazing!"
"This idea is brilliant!"
"Quick, quick, quick! Make the call!"
The private room was instantly filled with ambiguous laughter and whistles, the atmosphere so lively it was almost lifting the roof off.
No one noticed that the heavy carved wooden door of the room was not fully closed, and a tall, cold figure happened to pass by outside.
Aidan Sterling had an appointment next door to talk business tonight, and as he finished and stepped out, he heard Evan Hughes loudly shouting Shane Donovan’s name...
His steps suddenly halted, his face instantly darkening, his eyes seeming to freeze over with a layer of ice.
Shane Donovan!
Very good indeed!
How many days has it been?
And he dares to sneak out behind Stella’s back to engage in such debauchery!
Eighteen young models, no less?
Aidan Sterling’s thin lips tightly pressed, his jawline tensed like the edge of a blade.
Just you wait!
...
That night.
The "Aura" club, Crestfall’s top luxury den.
Aidan Sterling rarely frequented such places, the deafening music seemed to pound directly on his temples, causing his brows to knit into a tight frown.
He sat with a sullen face in the VIP lounge just a wall away from Evan Hughes’ room, the whiskey before him untouched.
He had arranged with the club’s servers in advance to notify him the moment Shane Donovan showed up.
Rationally, he thought Shane Donovan was unlikely to come; he had seen the sincerity of Shane’s concern for Stella, it didn’t seem fake.
But emotionally, just thinking about those eighteen young models and the so-called final frenzy that Evan and his cronies were clamoring about made his anger surge uncontrollably.
He was determined to see if Shane Donovan truly dared to pull such a stunt before the engagement feast!
However, not even half an hour later, a server cautiously pushed the door open and reported in a low voice: "President Sterling, Young Master Donovan is here, just entered the adjacent ’Stardust’ room."
Aidan Sterling’s face instantly turned so dark it could drip ink.
Alright!
Shane Donovan!
You really dared to come!
He suddenly stood up, the chilling aura he emitted made a passing minor celebrity shrink back in fear, not daring to strike up a conversation.
Aidan Sterling crossed to the door of the Stardust room in a few strides; he couldn’t even be bothered to knock, kicking the door open—
"Bang!"
With a loud bang, the heavy solid wood door was kicked open by him, colliding with the wall and making a dull echo.
"Shane Donovan!" Aidan Sterling shouted sternly, scanning the room with sharp eyes.
However, the expected scene of revelry and drunkenness did not appear.
The lights in the room were soft and warm, soothing blues music played in the background, and the air was scented with a light fragrance of fruit and alcohol, without a hint of choking smoke.
And on the sofa, Shane Donovan sat leisurely, his long legs crossed, holding a beautifully colored cocktail.
Beside him, the one holding a colorful drink garnished with a small paper umbrella, blinking her big eyes and looking over in confusion...
Who else could it be but his sister Stella?!
"Big brother?" Stella looked at Aidan Sterling, who had barged in full of murderous aura, bewildered, "Why are you here?"
Aidan Sterling was completely stunned, his mind momentarily went blank.
"...Stella?"
Once he reacted, Aidan Sterling’s Adam’s apple involuntarily bobbed, "You... why are you here?"
Stella raised the cocktail glass in her hand, "Shane Donovan said the bartender here is amazing, with a few special cocktails you can’t find outside, so he brought me to try them."
As she spoke, she used a small spoon to scoop a cherry from the edge of the glass, "Hmm, not bad. Brother, do you want to try?"
Aidan Sterling: "..."
At this point, Shane Donovan finally leisurely put down his glass, looked up at the motionless Aidan Sterling standing at the door, a faint, half-smile on his lips, "President Sterling, what a coincidence. So worked up? Care for a drink to cool off?"
"No need!"
Aidan Sterling squeezed out three words from between his teeth, his tone hard, "You guys... take your time with your drinks!"
After speaking, he turned to leave.
This place was intolerable for even a second longer!
However, the moment he turned around, he caught out of the corner of his eye an all-too-familiar silhouette— 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Elara Forrest was exceedingly beautiful.
Her exquisite face was no less than a top celebrity, her skin almost glowing with whiteness, and she wore a black velvet cheongsam that accentuated her curves with a high slit revealing a long, straight, and fair leg, her slender waist tantalizingly delicate, and her full bust inviting endless imagination.
Completely different from the gentle and quiet girl in his memory.
Like a completely new person...
At this moment, Elara Forrest was conversing with a few friends, her lips curved in a languid yet distant smile, while many men’s gazes seemed glued to her, with some boldly trying to strike up a conversation under the influence of alcohol, only to be casually rebuffed by her.
Aidan Sterling’s feet seemed nailed to the spot, with only the thunderous pounding of his heart reverberating in his ears, making his eardrums buzz...
