Becoming the Villainess: I Dominate the Cultivation Realm with My Wok!-Chapter 469
Whether it was Chu Wuxin’s own room or outside, wherever Chen Muxue went, she had never felt such warmth. Could it be that this ordinary kitchen, in Chu Wuxin’s consciousness, was actually a place to relax and unwind?
"Come." The old lady took out a small stool, seemingly used for picking vegetables. She gestured for Chen Muxue to sit properly and placed another normal-height stool in front of her, presumably to serve as her little table.
"The noodles will be ready soon."
In the dim kitchen, the old lady ignited the stove fire. The slightly orange flame illuminated them, making Chen Muxue look like a little girl brought up by a rural grandmother, obediently sitting and waiting for the grandmother to cook a bowl of noodles that she could never eat again after going to the city.
Chen Muxue seemed compliant, but she had already seen clearly the items on the chopping board. The old lady had been cutting a kind of meat that looked extremely tender. Although the old lady was elderly, she was meticulous, and the slices she cut were thin, looking crystal clear and very tempting.
Yet, with her years of experience as a chef, Chen Muxue could not identify what kind of animal’s meat it was.
The steaming noodles were soon set before Chen Muxue. It was a simple soup noodle dish, with the flour used not being pure white flour, hence the noodles had a mottled color. But the green vegetables on top were fresh and enticing, complementing the noodle’s color beautifully.
Clearly, just some garlic was sauteed as the base, yet the dish possessed a magical deliciousness. This bowl of noodles, in adulthood, inexplicably became something that could never be perfectly replicated. No matter how many noodles she ate in the future, no matter how refined, she would occasionally recall this simple and unadorned bowl of noodles from before.
Chen Muxue didn’t immediately use her chopsticks. She seemed to casually glance at the meat on the chopping board.
"Craving for the meat? You should come back in a couple of days. The meat now is prepared for the gentlemen..." The old lady seemed unwilling to say more. She just touched Chen Muxue’s head with her calloused hand.
Though one should be extremely cautious here, and particularly attentive regarding such food, Chen Muxue felt a gut instinct that this bowl of noodles was absolutely safe and delicious, and she could eat it without reservation.
Taking a look at the old lady’s smiling face, Chen Muxue decided to follow the intuition of this body and picked up a mouthful of noodles to eat.
With one bite, it was as if a floodgate had opened and she couldn’t stop, until she drank even the soup clean. The satisfying feeling in her belly and the warm sensation enveloped her whole body, pulling Chen Muxue’s mind back, with a warm current rising from her heart. She flexed her arms and legs slightly, finding her strength had undergone a qualitative improvement!
Chen Muxue sensed the familiar power, her eyes showing a bit more confidence.
It seems the limit of this body wasn’t Chu Wuxin’s limit at this point but rather was based on her own maximum potential!
"Thank you, grandma!"
Seeing Chen Muxue visibly more spirited, the old lady smiled even more happily: "Good child, make sure not to obey."
The words she said while patting Chen Muxue’s head seemed to carry deeper meaning.
No time for deeper thought, the old lady pulled her to send her out: "It’s time to start preparing dinner, you better leave now."
Why is it "leave quickly," not "get back quickly?"
Chen Muxue looked at the various chaotic figures gradually approaching from afar. She quickly sidestepped to one side, looked back at the old lady, who opened the kitchen door, casually giving her a kind, comforting smile.
