Becoming Secret Nanny for Possessive CEO-Chapter 34: I Like Being Your Designer
Edith felt like throwing up when she read the DNA test results, which were as she had expected. Right now, she was at a loss for what to do. If she made the wrong move, her life would be miserable. She also couldn’t bear to see Callum cry because of her own selfishness. Therefore, she wanted to hide the DNA test results in her desk drawer. No one should know about them. For some reason, she still felt something was odd about Cliff and Callum’s DNA test results, as if someone were manipulating them.
Her eyes grew even more teary as she continued to think about the DNA test results, tearing her heart apart. Now she was trying to forget everything and continue designing the dress she would wear to the ball. As she was about to sew a seam in the skirt, she accidentally pricked her index finger with a needle.
"Ouch!" She quickly ran over to the storage rack, looking for the first aid kit she had prepared.
At the same time, Callum entered the room carrying a paper bag. Seeing his girlfriend frantically searching for the medicine cabinet with her bleeding index finger, he immediately ran to her and placed the paper bag on the sofa.
"Edith, what’s wrong with you? Why are your hands bleeding?" Callum immediately led his girlfriend to sit on the sofa, grabbed a tissue, and then stopped the blood that continued to flow from her tiny index finger.
Edith looked down in shame, staring at the storage rack. "Actually, I accidentally made a mistake while sewing my dress."
"You’re still so relaxed, even though your finger is bleeding!" Callum immediately ran to the storage rack and grabbed the first aid kit from the top shelf. "This can’t be allowed to happen!"
Edith’s heart pounded as she watched Callum’s overly exaggerated behavior. Only Callum could treat her with such affection. For five years, every time she was hurt, no one cared about her, not even Cliff. Seeing Callum acting like her real husband made her doubt the DNA test results she had just seen even more. That’s what made her want to protect Callum now. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
She kept saying to herself that Callum was so mean to her. Her eyes were now filled with tears, not because she was in pain from the needle prick, but because she couldn’t bear to see Callum being so nice to her. She was going to be mean to him soon, so why couldn’t Callum be sensitive to her? Especially when Callum carefully treated the wound on her hand, making her heart ache even more.
"If I treat your finger a little roughly, you have to complain," Callum said gently.
Edith shook her head slowly. "No. I actually wanted to thank you for treating me."
"But why are you crying so hard? Does it still hurt?" Callum spontaneously wrapped his arms around his girlfriend warmly. "I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked you to be my designer."
Edith was more likely venting her frustration at the lack of action she could take. If she’d told the truth, Callum wouldn’t have been as nice as he was. She’d grown so comfortable with Callum’s pampering that she wanted to be selfish. However, every time she saw Callum’s face, she cried.
"It’s okay. I actually really enjoy being your designer." Edith lifted her head, rubbing her eyelids. "I can’t wait to see you in my clothes."
"I don’t want you to work too hard. When it’s time to rest, you should follow your heart’s desire."
"Seeing you now take the initiative to visit me, I don’t feel lonely anymore."
Callum rolled his eyes. "So, have you been feeling lonely all this time? I should have visited you more often."
"It’s okay. Just ignore what I said earlier." Her eyes fell on the paper bag placed on the table. "By the way, what did you bring me?"
"I brought you macaroons." He took a jar from a paper bag and opened it. "I know you’ve been craving macaroons. Especially since you’ve been working so hard, even overtime. I can’t bear to see you starving from exhaustion."
Edith took a strawberry macaroon and popped it into her mouth. She’d been crying at first, but now a sweet smile returned to her face. Thanks to Callum’s special macaroon, the bad mood vanished in an instant.
"I really like this macaroon."
"This macaroon was your favorite when you were pregnant." Callum accidentally let slip a word about his girlfriend’s past. He smacked his lips and looked away.
Meanwhile, Edith didn’t care about her past. She just wanted Callum to stay with her now. Her arms wrapped around his broad back and she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Can I finish the macaroons you just bought?"
"Of course. If you feel it’s not enough, I can buy another box for you."
"Not today. I want you to buy me macaroons sometime. Right now, I just need you."
Callum looked at his girlfriend with pity. It was unusual for her to be so clingy. Was Cliff threatening her again?
"By the way, did something happen to you?"
"I just want to be with you today."
"But, can I pick up the kids now?"
Speaking of children, Edith almost forgot her primary role as a secret nanny. She slapped her forehead and broke the hug.
"Oh my gosh! I should be picking up the kids now!"
"I will pick them up."
"But aren’t you busy?"
"It’s okay. You need to rest once in a while. You haven’t been getting enough sleep lately making our clothes."
"I’m so grateful to have you, Callum. If you weren’t in my life, it would be miserable."

Meanwhile, at school, the twins were walking together toward the lobby. They were waiting for their mother to arrive, but the person who appeared wasn’t their mother, but another man, making Eliana feel uncomfortable.
Erdin started to become afraid and hid behind his younger brother. He didn’t really get along with adults easily.
"Eliana, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other," Cliff said.
"What are you doing here, uncle?"
"Of course, I want to introduce my true identity to your brother."
