Became a Demon with Pregnancy System-Chapter 70: Zoe is my goddess!
In the Colosseum, aside from Nate Dawson, the remaining five summoning students stepped forward into the cage. Their intent to gang up on Zoe was clear.
The crowd erupted into boos.
"Shame on you! Five against one?!"
The summoning students ignored the jeers, focusing on their strategy.
"Damn it," said Ian Harper, one of the summoners. "If we all work together, we can bring her down. We just have to."
"Hmph, it’s too bad we have a liability on our team," Wesley Grant said, glaring at Nate Dawson.
Nate, unfazed, took a sip of water and waved casually in return.
"Is your summoned beast really incapable of fighting, Nate?" asked Everett Holland, head of the summoning department, his brows furrowed in frustration.
"Director, if it could fight, I’d be the first one in there," Nate said with a shrug.
Everett sighed heavily. "Fine. Let’s just hope they can surprise us."
Moments later, five summoning doors flickered open in the Colosseum. Out stepped five summoned beasts: Ian’s Stone Titan, Wesley’s ominous Bone-Eating Demon, a scrawny wolf beast, and two reptilian lizards. Their roars reverberated through the arena.
Ordinarily, such a scene would intimidate beginner mages. But Zoe stood unfazed, her expression calm as she observed the beasts.
To Zoe, their roars were almost... cute. They didn’t compare to the fearsome howls of the Demon Wolves she had faced in the Upper Wolf Valley.
With a gentle smile, she turned to Brandon Brown and tossed him a small vial. "This is for your White Armor Sting. With proper care, it’ll be good as new in a week."
Brandon caught the vial, stunned. It took him a moment to register her words.
Meanwhile, the other summoners remained oblivious to Zoe’s goodwill. To them, this was still a battle, and they prepared to fight.
"Ian, your Stone Titan has higher fire resistance. Let it take the front line while we look for an opening," Wesley commanded.
"Yeah, I know," Ian replied gruffly, directing his Stone Titan forward.
The two lizards darted toward Zoe from opposite sides, attempting a feint. Above, Wesley’s Bone-Eating Demon hovered in the air, searching for a critical strike opportunity.
"What about me?" asked the short, nervous boy whose trembling wolf beast mirrored his own anxiety.
"Just follow the lizard on the right," Ian snapped impatiently. "Look for a chance to strike."
Despite their efforts, the formation was chaotic. Zoe watched the disorganized group with a faint smile. She decided it was time to end the fight quickly.
Flame stars began orbiting Zoe as she traced her star path. Three seconds later, a brilliant purple flame ignited above her.
"Purple Flame—Fierce Fist—Boom!"
With a sharp step back, Zoe launched her flaming attack directly at the Stone Titan.
"Damn it! Fierce Fist?!" Ian shouted. "Stone Titan, defend yourself!"
The Stone Titan braced itself, but the fiery attack overwhelmed it in seconds. Flames consumed its massive frame, reducing it to smoldering rubble.
The Fierce Fist continued its trajectory, exploding directly beneath the Bone-Eating Demon in midair. The impact sent shockwaves through the arena, leaving the demonic spirit incapacitated.
The two lizards, caught in the residual flames, collapsed in charred heaps. Only the nervous boy’s wolf beast remained untouched, its frail form shivering as it crouched near its master.
Zoe approached the boy with a soft smile. She crouched down and gently stroked the trembling wolf beast. "Don’t worry," she said, her voice kind. "You’ve done well."
She handed the boy a small bottle of healing potion. Then, standing, she addressed the remaining summoners. "You all have potential. With hard work, you can become powerful mages."
Zoe distributed more potions to Ian, Wesley, and the others, treating their injured beasts. Her actions left everyone—freshmen and summoners alike—stunned.
The audience, previously tense with excitement, now stared at Zoe in awe.
"Wait... she’s a healing mage too?"
"She destroyed them in seconds... and then healed their summons?!"
"Who is this fearless, merciful queen?!"
Zoe smiled warmly, her actions silencing even her harshest critics.
"Elegant, so elegant!"
"Marissa, I’m sorry, but from today onwards, Zoe is my goddess!"
"I can’t believe the gentle and powerful Zoe is also a skilled healer. That light—it’s too warm!"
The crowd erupted in a round of applause, completely enchanted by her awe-inspiring display. Her petite and graceful stature was disarming for the audience, almost unequal for the omnipresent destructive flames that she was wielding so effortlessly.
"Oh, well, she’s not just a fighter! She’s a healer too! Who would want someone like her on their team?" sang a male freshman, much to the applause of his friends.
"I would join the healing department this minute if she were my mentor," said another with a wink, gathering a wave of laughter.
Zoe’s calmness was but the icing on the cake. The crowd was astonished that there would be such a gentle creature like her being capable of simultaneously utilizing such devastating and restorative powers.
Meanwhile, the defeated summoning students exchanged uncertain glances- unsure of how to process this loss. Ian Harper sighed. "We lost," finally, unable to look up at anyone.
"Yeah.. Let’s just go," echoed Wesley Grant, his arrogance suddenly deflated in full acceptance. But when his eyes fell on the healing potion Zoe handed him, they softened.
"Nate, it’s your turn," Zoe called out, a challenge ringing in her voice, while she beckoned Nate to come forward.
Now she was here to check her progress against Nate.
"Do you two know each other?" Everett Holland, head of the summoning department, asked, raising his eyebrows in curiosity.
"Yeah," Nate scratched the back of his neck with a lopsided grin. "We went to the same high school and fought together before."
Zoe tilted her head slightly so someone could catch a glimpse of that infectious smile. "Come on, Nate. Show me what you’ve got."
