Beastmen Love-Chapter 186: Names of the Sun

The days pass, and the battle for the Kingdom of Dinosaurs comes closer, but Astri shows that she has good humor. She’s humming as she takes care of her garden, being sure they will have plenty of medicines.

Ian and Bono arrived at where she is working. Atlas is playing with the soil next to her.

"Astri? Did you call us here?" Bono asks.

"Yes, I did. Bono, can you take that wooden box here? Ian, can you take a bag of seeds on that chair? I forgot it there." She asks, pointing at things for them.

They look at each other a bit confused, but do what she asks.

"Here." She says, giving a plant pot to each of them.

"What is this?" Ian asks.

"Farming is very interesting, because plants don’t speak, but they say a lot of things. Plants are sensitive. They also have souls. They also help us have the air we breathe. Plants are like people." She explains.

"Just like people, they need to eat, and especially, they need roots to grow big. But for that, they need a healthy earth to grow. So, we will mix earth with the rest of the food that would naturally go to their roots after decomposing. Decomposing is when we die, our body starts to rot, and mixes with the earth. The same thing happens with food, leaves, and fruits. We put the earth in the plant pot... Like this. And then we make a little hole in the center, put the seed in it, and cover it carefully." She explains as she’s doing it.

She shows them her pot.

"Now you do it." She says.

They start to do what she did. When they finish, they give it to her, but she gives it back to them.

"It’s yours to take care of. To have a strong, big tree, you have to nurture it, water it, and show it the way it’s supposed to grow. It will not always be prepared to be on the ground, so we put it in a pot to grow healthily, so it becomes strong enough to be on the ground. Sometimes it will never be ready to be on the ground, it’s fated to not be big and to be moving, but it will still be important and beautiful." She says and pours water on their pots. "Just like people. You, as leaders, need to treat your people the same way."

Now they understand what she wanted to say. They need to do more than protect their people. They need to lead their people on the right path so the future generations can keep growing.

Ian was told about who she is, and is happy to know that she sees him as a good leader.

"I won’t ever let it die." Ian says, looking at his pot.

Bono has mixed feelings. He wants to be with her, but he has the mission to lead the dinosaurs to the right path again, and their kind doesn’t become extinct. He’s now looking at the pot as the symbol of the love he will nurture not only for his but for her as well.

"This tree will become the most beautiful, the biggest, and most sacred of this tribe. And I’ll treasure it forever." Bono states.

"I believe you. On both of you. Trust each other, and remember to think differently." Astri says.

She keeps working on the plantation, and she teaches them about farming and how they can teach people to take care of plantations for feeding and for medicine.

"MOM! MOM!" They hear Hopin calling and running outside.

"What is it?" Astri asks.

"The eggs are hatching." Hopin answers excitedly.

"Oh my.."

She runs to wash her hands. She runs to grab Atlas, and go inside. Bono sighs, wanting to go inside but not going.

"When are you planning to ask her to be her male?" Ian asks.

"Never." Bono answers.

"Why not?"

"We have a big mission to save our kind. Once King Freyd and Juno are dethroned, she will go back to her home. I can’t be her male and still be here."

"I see.. How will you live with that? You’re too in love with her already."

"Making a Kingdom worthy of having her presence. A Kingdom that will know her name. A place where, anywhere I look, I’ll see her smile because I know she would love it." Bono answers, smiling and looking at his flower pot.

Ian smiles, taps his hand on Bono’s arm.

"You will be a great King. I’m honored to have you as our King. I’ll help you build this kingdom that will be worthy of her."

Bono smiles and nods, also happy to have Ian on his side. He never imagined he would find a friend of a very different kind compared to his, but in the end, they look very much alike. Both are smart and think differently from others. They have different perspectives, but they believe that this is a good thing to have. Easily, they started to become friends.

They see some of Astri’s spouses running inside. Astri, her spouses and children are watching the eggs hatching. Astri is anxious, seeing the eggshells cracking and moving slowly. She watches a little beak poking outside from the right egg, then it started to crack more and more until it breaks in half, showing a little eagle almost the same size of a grown chicken.

"Aww.. My mighty little eagle. Welcome." Astri cries, watching it move awkwardly.

"My boy.. You will have the color of your mother’s hair." Lee says, happily helping the boy to remove the eggshells from its beak.

The little eagle has the same color as Astri’s hair. When the little bird could stand, he looked up and his eyes stopped at Astri, and he chirped a little sound.

"Yeah. It’s mommy. Welcome home, my little mighty eagle." She says, taking him slowly and bringing him to her chest.

She kisses his head, hugging him carefully, already filled with the love she naturally feels for her children. She gives him to Lee to welcome him, but soon their attention is on the next egg, which is moving more and more.

They watch the eggshell breaking in half and exposing a red eagle, but everyone gasps in amazement.

"What? What is it?!" Astri asks worried, looking around the little eagle.

The little eagle started to shift, until it became a little baby, shocking everyone, and Astri understood that it was a female eagle.

"Aww.. A little girl!" Astri cries, bringing the baby slowly to her.

"We have sister!" Yuki happily screams, running around happily because she will have a sister to play with.

Everyone is beaming. Lee is happier and is thrilled to have his two little eagles.

"Tiny female version of Lee." Wayde says, with a big smile, looking at the little female in Lee’s arms.

"Do you want to choose their names, love?" Astri asks Lee.

"I don’t think I’m good at this. They look like the sun in the morning and at the end of the afternoon." Lee says, looking at the two of them.

"It’s true.. How about Aurora for the girl and Albus for the boy? Both names mean sun." Astri says.

"Aurora and Albus... I love it." Lee says, playing with his nose on them. "Boys?" Lee calls.

Elias, Kai, and Hopin come forward. "You have one more female to protect. If any boy comes at Aurora and Yuki, you kill them!"

Everyone laughs, but Astri could notice all her spouses agreed with Lee. They spend the rest of the day in family, bonding with each other and the new family members. During the afternoon, Astri and Lee brought Aurora and Albus outside to get some fresh air and also meet the guards.

"Look at that. Leader Lee is so lucky to have a female. Lady Astri had three pregnancies and already had two females. That is amazing." Galion says.

"No male is allowed near our girls. Only if it’s for protection." Lee warns everyone.

"Skalven can get near them." A guard pouts.

"Skalven is different. He’s their guardian." Lee says back.

"We can be too."

Everyone laughs. All of them knew Lee is possessive of his things, but now with a daughter, this side of him is at least two times worse. Astri thinks it’s cute, she’s happy that she has amazing spouses who will show her daughters what to expect from a male.

That day was a day where everyone took as opportunity to forget the upcoming battle. It will be a dangerous battle, but Astri is sure that everything will be all right in the end. She can see that Bono’s soul is lighter after forgiving his mother, and also believing in himself more. She knows his heart is big for his people, that is different from the other world, the dinosaurs will not be extinct because of him.

On the next day, everyone went back to worry about the preparations for the battle, remembering that this battle is not only for them, it’s for the next generations that deserve to live in peace just as much as they do.
