Si Shuo let out a huge sigh of relief and couldn’t help but chuckle. But seeing Xu Chi’s utterly clueless expression, her heart ached for him. "Xu Chi, when did you leave your clan?"

Xu Chi gestured to his chest. "When I was this tall. Father told me to leave and not look back. He said I couldn’t stay in any tribe for long, and I was forbidden from using my Transformation to fight."

As he spoke, he lowered his head slightly, his voice still cool and clear. "I’ve always avoided other Beastmen, hunting Wild Beasts every day to raise my Combat Power. I probably don’t know much... Si Shuo, are you starting to dislike me?"

Si Shuo slowly walked over and gave his clothes a tug. Just as she expected, she felt his entire body tense up. With a soft smile, she wrapped her arms around his waist and held him tight.

Xu Chi froze on the spot. His hands desperately wanted to defy his brain’s control and copy her, to hug her back.

But he didn’t dare follow his instincts, terrified he might do something to hurt her.

Si Shuo chuckled. "Silly Xu Chi, that wasn’t you actually wanting to devour me. It’s just your body’s way of showing how much it likes me."

"You want to be close to me—to kiss, hug, and lift me up high."

Xu Chi’s hands reached out, trembling. He placed them on her waist and, surrendering to the desire in his heart, pulled her against him to feel her delicate softness.

He kissed her forehead with incredible devotion, greedily inhaling her sweet fragrance. His heart filled with a joy he had never known before.

Xu Chi buried his face in the crook of her neck. "Si Shuo... Si Shuo..."

Si Shuo gently stroked his back, a smile playing on her lips. "I’m here. From now on, Xu Chi won’t be alone. How about I take you with me wherever I go?"

"We’ll go to the Central Continent and see how the Beastmen live over there."

"Even though you all are very powerful and could easily provide for me just by hunting..."

"...we can live even better. We’ll farm, raise livestock, open a shop..."

Xu Chi nodded. "Okay! Wherever Si Shuo is, that’s where I’ll be!"

The Crowned Eagle Beastman had his own agenda. While leading Si Shuo away from the Luoni Tribe, he deliberately chose routes with difficult terrain—mountain ranges, lakes, deserts, forests, and even swamps.

Si Shuo looked curiously at the object in her hand: a light-blue bead strung on a silver beast tendon. She smiled, hung it around her neck, and asked, "What’s this?"

"It’s a Sumeru Space. They’re made by refining the Crystal Stones of our clansmen after they die. The size of the space inside depends on the Level of the clansman it’s refined from."

"This one is my A yue’s. Yours is from my Grandma."

"Grandma wanted to protect you!" Xu Chi added, showing her the black bead from his own neck.

Si Shuo froze for a second, then pulled him into the lean-to. "A space? You mean I can put all the food from outside in here?"

Xu Chi nodded. With a flick of his wrist, a large Beast Skin Bag appeared. The crisp clinking from within was a sound Si Shuo knew all too well.

"It’s the dowry Father told me to save up!"

Si Shuo opened the bag. It was stuffed full of Crystal Cores, almost all of them Level 6 or higher. The highest were Level 10, and there were quite a few.

’Her Beast Husbands are more lavish than the last...’

"The low-level ones weren’t good enough to give you, so I just absorbed them. Once my Combat Power increases, I’ll hunt even more powerful Wild Beasts for you!"

"Xu Chi, are you really only at the third level of Combat Power?"

Xu Chi leaned close to her ear. "You’ll see when I become your Beast Husband and undergo my Transformation."

Si Shuo couldn’t help but tilt her head up. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulled him closer until their noses gently touched, and felt his body give a slight shiver.

She chuckled. "Xu Chi, are you ready? I’m so delighted, I’m going to eat you up!" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

’I feel like the Big Bad Wolf coaxing an innocent little kid.’

’And of course, this silly boy took her seriously.’

Xu Chi’s expression turned solemn. He closed his eyes, his breathing growing uneven. His voice held a trace of reluctance, but it was still firm. "Your body is weak, Si Shuo. Eating me will help you recover your strength."

But the more he acted this way, the more Si Shuo wanted to tease him. Her hand gently traced his brow. "But aren’t you afraid it will hurt, Xu Chi? Is there anything you want to say before I eat you?"

"I’m not afraid of the pain. I just... haven’t spent enough time with you yet. Could you maybe wait a few days before you eat me? Don’t you want to see my Beast Form?" Xu Chi opened his eyes, his clear gaze filled with earnest pleading.

Si Shuo felt her eyes well up as she leaned in and kissed him. "Not a chance!"

Xu Chi didn’t say anything, his gaze lingering on her, full of reluctance and resignation. He simply let her have her way with him.

Gradually, the clarity in his eyes clouded over with a layer of mist. His breathing grew ragged as a strange, dark tide washed over him. When Si Shuo deepened the kiss, the last thread of his restraint snapped, and he seized the initiative, learning from her as he kissed her back.

Si Shuo was so dazed by his kiss that she could barely breathe. Finally, she gave his chest a light tap.

Startled, Xu Chi let her go. His fair face was flushed red, and he looked completely flustered.

’The male is even shyer than I am! How am I supposed to feel shy now?’

"Did you like the appetizer before the main course?" she asked with a soft laugh, her fingers tilting his chin up as her eyes narrowed playfully.

Xu Chi stared eagerly at her soft, pink lips and nodded honestly. "I liked it. More!"

Si Shuo burst out laughing and collapsed into his embrace. "Xu Chi, how can you be so adorable?"

"You believe everything I say, don’t you? What am I going to do with you? I think I’m liking you more and more..."

Xu Chi held her, and seeing her so happy, a glimmer of light appeared in his cool, clear eyes. "I like you too, Si Shuo. More and more."

A high-pitched "HONK HONK" came from the sky. Xu Chi’s expression turned cold, and the arms holding Si Shuo tightened slightly.

Hearing the sound, Beastmen emerged from their lean-tos one by one. They saw a young man in black robes seated atop a White Goose Beastman.
