Chapter 615: Dreams and Reality

Qiao Sang immediately looked at Little Treasure with admiration.

A genius!

He had only been learning for a short time, yet he could already recognize words, form sentences, and even understand their meaning!

She wondered if there were educational pathways for pet beasts. She felt like Little Treasure could definitely handle more advanced content…

"Xun Xun…"

Little Treasure shivered inexplicably.

Qiao Sang returned to her thoughts, feeling reassured.

With how smart Little Treasure was, and having just practiced hypnosis, even though she wasn't sure if it had worked, the two Chan Chan Stones seemed unaffected. Hypnotizing other pet beasts later shouldn't be a problem.

Even if the task failed, she could just pay the task issuer to perform a Dream Projection herself. She had an unlimited credit card, plus Lubao’s Healing Light, there was no way the issuer wouldn’t be tempted.

With this plan in mind, Qiao Sang was about to put the two Chan Chan Stones back into her pocket and head straight to the RV.

But just as she moved her hand, something occurred to her. She looked down at the two Chan Chan Stones.

"Chan Chan?"

The two Chan Chan Stones looked at her in confusion.

The next second, Qiao Sang, still holding the Chan Chan Stones, walked into the restroom. She stepped up to the sink, washed the two stones clean, and only then put them in her pocket.

That was close, she almost forgot they had just been licked…

At that moment, two well-dressed Caucasian women walked out of the stalls while chatting.

"I'm planning to request a new Swift Moth. This one is just too dumb. Other than the powder from its wings helping amplify emotions during acting, it’s completely useless."

"Forget it. Not every actor here even gets a Swift Moth. You were only assigned one because you’ve had scenes recently. Once your part is done, the Swift Moth will go to someone else."

"But I heard the fourth female lead in our crew successfully switched hers just a few days ago."

"That’s because-"

The two women noticed Qiao Sang and immediately switched to a language she had never heard before.

What gossip am I not allowed to hear…? Qiao Sang thought to herself but showed no change in expression.

She walked out of the restroom and headed toward the task issuer's RV.

Because of what she had overheard, Qiao Sang subconsciously paid more attention and soon spotted several Swift Moths along the way. She noticed that none of them were wearing identity bracelets.

So these Swift Moths were all wild pet beasts, probably working here like the Chan Chan Stones. Their wing powder amplified emotions, making them useful for actors… Qiao Sang speculated.

Soon, she arrived at the task issuer’s RV.

Inside, there was now an additional Swift Moth, looking uneasy as it faced the task issuer.

"It's this one." Sylvia signaled with her eyes before getting straight to the point.

Though there were two Swift Moths in the vehicle, their expressions were completely different, making them easy to distinguish.

"Now?" Qiao Sang asked.

Sylvia nodded.

"Now."

Hearing this, Qiao Sang nodded toward the empty air beside her.

"Xun Xun~"

Little Treasure immediately materialized in the direction of Qiao Sang’s nod, his eyes glowing purple as he stared at the nervous Swift Moth.

The Swift Moth was still focused on the task issuer, completely unaware of what was happening.

The next second, its head turned uncontrollably toward Little Treasure.

"Xun Xun…"

Before the Swift Moth could react, it locked eyes with the glowing purple gaze and immediately fell into a deep sleep.

"Done." Qiao Sang turned to the task issuer.

"Do you need me to step out?"

Since the task issuer could offer Dream Projection as a reward, it meant she had a pet beast capable of performing the technique.

Many people were particular about privacy when issuing tasks. Some didn't want the task details shared, while others wouldn't even disclose any information to the task taker, only instructing them on what to do.

The current task issuer was clearly an actress and had not provided any information about the task beforehand. To avoid complications in case the hypnosis failed, and to better negotiate an alternative trade for a Dream Projection, Qiao Sang asked considerately.

Otherwise, if the Dream Projection revealed something private, negotiating later might not go smoothly.

"Ah…" Sylvia snapped out of her thoughts.

"What did you say?"

As she spoke, she couldn't help but glance at the two unfamiliar pet beasts.

She hadn’t expected another ghost-type pet beast in the RV…

And the young girl was holding a psychic-type pet beast…

She had clearly seen it use telekinesis earlier, there was no mistake.

It was common knowledge that the lightweight miniaturization pet beast shrinking bracelets were only available for beasts over six meters in size.

Psychic-type and fairy-type pet beasts generally had smaller bodies compared to other attributes.

For other types, reaching six meters typically required reaching General rank at the very least.

For a psychic-type pet beast to exceed six meters, it was likely at least General rank…

As these thoughts raced through her mind, Sylvia heard the girl repeat, "Do I need to step outside?"

"No need, it’s nothing sensitive." Sylvia finally showed a friendly smile.

With that, she formed a hand seal.

A white star array lit up.

A pet beast with a white upper body, pink-blue tentacle-like hair, and an octopus-like lower half appeared.

"Look at its dream." Sylvia instructed, pointing at the sleeping Swift Moth.

The tentacle-haired pet beast nodded and placed one of its tentacles on the Swift Moth, then closed its eyes.

Two seconds later, a transparent bubble with a scene inside slowly emerged from the Swift Moth’s head.

As it rose, the bubble expanded.

When it reached about twenty centimeters in diameter, it stopped growing and floated in mid-air.

With her sharp eyesight, Qiao Sang could clearly see the scene in the bubble.

A group of Swift Moths was lined up, and a black man at the front was handing out something resembling boxed meals.

The dream was in first-person view, so the Swift Moth’s own expression wasn’t visible, but judging from the other moths’ appearances, they all seemed happy.

"This isn't the dream I’m looking for." Sylvia suddenly said.

"If I describe a specific scene, can your pet beast create a dream around it? Or if I give a specific time, can it hypnotize the Swift Moth into recalling memories from that period?"

Qiao Sang thought for a moment and nodded.

"It can create dreams."

Back when she taught Crowned Meow instant teleportation, Little Treasure had used hypnosis to create a dream for it to learn in.

At the time, Crowned Meow was aware it was in a dream.

Since they were going to construct a dream, Sylvia recounted the events with a calm tone:

"This Swift Moth used to be my assistant, and we worked well together. But one day, it suddenly quit, saying it didn’t want to follow me anymore.

"Even though the studio paid its salary, I never mistreated it. I gave it the same food I provided for my Dream-Hunting Beast."

She paused, realizing she was going off-topic, then continued:

"That day, in the dressing room, a different Swift Moth came in. When I asked about it, I was told it had been reassigned. But when I found it and spoke with it through my Dream-Hunting Beast, I learned it had left by choice."

"I want you to make it dream of that moment, when I was questioning it, so I can hear its subconscious response and see if it matches what it told me before."

So she suspected the Swift Moth hadn’t left voluntarily… Qiao Sang’s expression grew complicated.

She hadn’t expected the task issuer’s goal to be this.

People often said those from Chaosu Star had poor relationships with pet beasts, but perhaps she had been biased. With such a large population, not everyone could have the same mindset.

Just as Qiao Sang was about to instruct Little Treasure to create the dream-

"Wait!" Sylvia suddenly exclaimed, staring at the bubble with a sharp tone.

Did it show what she wanted to see? Qiao Sang curiously turned to look.

And what she saw made her pause.
