Beast taming, starting from zero point-Chapter 51 - 48 Bai Xinsai
Chapter 51: Chapter 48 Bai Xinsai
“Tooth!”
The bark of the Fire-Toothed Dog yanked Qiao Sang back from her thoughts.
Looking down, she realized that an entire bottle of Qi Yuan milk had been guzzled.
The Fire-Toothed Dog gazed at its Beast Tamer, eagerly hoping for another bottle.
Qiao Sang handed over some water she had prepared beforehand.
Now, when her entire fortune was down to just three digits, she had to mix water with milk, or else her assets might hit zero before even getting to the Bai Xinsai.
The Fire-Toothed Dog had no objections to this arrangement.
After gulping down the water and munching on a couple of super invincible insanely spicy roasted wings, it turned around and plunged back into training.
Qiao Sang watched with mixed feelings.
It seemed the Fire-Toothed Dog was really eager to learn Mars Rain.
Qiao Sang watched the Fire-Toothed Dog spraying flames non-stop for a while, then took out her phone to search for training institutes in Hangkang City that offered lessons on Mars Rain.
Soon the phone’s browser displayed several skill training institutes.
One of them was just three streets away from her current location.
Qiao Sang clicked on it.
[One-on-one nanny-style coaching]
[One of the domestic most renowned training institutes for the signature moves of Fire Attribute Beasts]
[Nearly 500 trainers in the team, with 1 A-rank Beast Tamer, 12 B-rank Beast Tamers, and 122 C-rank Beast Tamers]
[Over 20,000 successful signature skill trainings every year]
The descriptions looked exaggerated; if it were one of the most famous in the country, they would have to add another zero to the 20,000 successful trainings a year.
However, if they truly had an A-rank Beast Tamer as a trainer like the introduction claimed, the institute’s strength was not to be underestimated.
Qiao Sang clicked further to inquire about the cost of training for Mars Rain.
The reply with the price came quickly.
Qiao Sang’s head spun for a moment.
So many zeros…
Individual, ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand, hundred…
Qiao Sang couldn’t bear to look any further and quickly closed the page, stowing away her phone.
It would be better to let the Fire-Toothed Dog continue its training as is; seeking professional training shouldn’t even be considered…
…
…
June 30th.
Qiao Sang took the bus 63 early in the morning to the Pet Beast Arena in Shouke Garden.
The entrance to the arena was already lined with people, most of whom seemed to be around the same age as Qiao Sang.
There were also a few reporters with microphones, randomly grabbing people for interviews.
Carrying the Fire-Toothed Dog, Qiao Sang deliberately took a long detour to queue up at Entrance 2, fearing that some sharp-eyed reporter might corner her for an interview.
After all, with sunglasses on, the Fire-Toothed Dog was quite noticeable among its fellow rookie Beast Tamers of the same age.
The Fire-Toothed Dog wasn’t wearing sunglasses out of its own volition; it was Qiao Sang who decided to put them on.
After making no progress with Mars Rain training these past few days, the Fire-Toothed Dog seemed to have lost some confidence and had been talking less. So Qiao Sang took the initiative to put sunglasses on it.
With the sunglasses on, the Fire-Toothed Dog may not have become more talkative, but its spirits had at least improved.
After standing in line for about twenty minutes, Qiao Sang checked in, received her competition tag, and made her way to Section D, Row 11 of the arena.
“Qiao Sang!”
Someone in Seat 5 of Row 11 was waving their arms and calling out to her.
Qiao Sang sat down beside Fang Sisi and asked, “Aside from you, how many others from our class are here?”
They had chatted on the phone last night when Fang Sisi reached out to Qiao Sang, and through the conversation, they realized they had both signed up for Bai Xinsai on June 30th, leading to this encounter.
“Not many, around 4 or 5, I guess. The Bai Xinsai is coinciding with a few matches of The Interstellar Cup, and everybody doesn’t want to miss the live broadcasts of those matches,” Fang Sisi replied, her eyes gleaming as she focused on the Fire-Toothed Dog.
It was her first time seeing the Fire-Toothed Dog with sunglasses.
It was just too cool!
Fang Sisi thought to herself about how cool the Fire-Toothed Dog was, and she couldn’t help but say it out loud.
Normally, if someone complimented it like this, the Fire-Toothed Dog would have puffed out its chest and strutted around, barking proudly.
But now, it just puffed out its chest without making a sound.
The Fire-Toothed Dog wanted to bark and show off as well.
But it couldn’t, because these past few days it had eaten way too many super duper abnormally spicy grilled wings.
Its throat hurt…
“Your Cotton Caterpillar is looking good, it seems much bigger than last time,” Qiao Sang complimented.
Actually, she meant to say fatter…
In just a short five days, the Cotton Caterpillar had plumped up a lot more than before.
However, Bug-Type Pets like the Cotton Caterpillar have short evolutionary cycles, and if they eat and sleep well, they develop much faster than other Pet Beasts.
This kind of change was visible to the naked eye.
“Cotton~”
Feeling shy when praised, the Cotton Caterpillar turned around, presenting its back to Qiao Sang.
“Is it that big? I haven’t really noticed,” said Fang Sisi as she directly picked up the Cotton Caterpillar to weigh it, “It does seem like it’s gained quite a bit.”
Cotton Caterpillar: “…”
They were expressing the same thing, but why did it feel so awkward when its own Beast Tamer said it…
After chatting idly for about twenty minutes, the seats around them gradually filled up.
Accompanied by the loud bangs of fireworks, the Bai Xinsai officially began.
“What’s your number?” Fang Sisi asked.
“123, what about you?” Qiao Sang responded.
“11,” Fang Sisi replied.
Qiao Sang: “…”
“Shouldn’t you be heading to the waiting area to line up? I think it’s going to be your turn soon,” Qiao Sang couldn’t help but remind her.
The preliminary battles at the Bai Xinsai were not determined randomly, but by matching contestants by their numbers in pairs, like 1 with 2, 3 with 4, and so on.
“Can’t be, there are still five pairs in front of me. I’ll head backstage when the fifth pair starts; I want to watch more of the matches,” Fang Sisi said.
Even though Qiao Sang felt it wasn’t right, she didn’t say anything more.
What Fang Sisi said made some sense; it would take some time for the host to finish introducing the event and then a few matches to be fought.
16 minutes later.
“Damn! How did it get so fast! Qiao Sang, I can’t talk to you any longer; I’ve got to hurry!” Fang Sisi picked up the Cotton Caterpillar and left her seat.
Then she sprinted down the aisle towards backstage.
In the 16 minutes, the host’s introduction alone had taken up about 10 minutes.

The remaining time practically saw a match every minute.
The F-rank Beast Tamers entering the stage all had only low-level Pet Beasts with simple strategies; basically, in just about three rounds, if the opponent managed to land the first attack, it usually meant the end of the match.
Qiao Sang herself had thought that it would be either in the afternoon or even tomorrow by the time it was her turn.
Now it seemed like it would definitely be her turn this morning…
“Contestant number 11, Fang Sisi.”
“Contestant number 11, Fang Sisi.”
The Pet Beast Arena’s host called out Fang Sisi’s name twice, but she was nowhere to be seen.
“Let’s congratulate…” The host was about to declare the contestant number 12 the winner, but then a voice came through the earpiece.
“Let’s congratulate contestant number 11, Fang Sisi, for her spectacular entrance!”
Since the start of the competition, the host had been announcing the contestant numbers and names in a very straightforward manner, and this was the first time the word ‘spectacular’ had been used during a contestant’s entry.
For a moment, the expectation of the audience arose.
3 seconds later.
Fang Sisi appeared on the field, out of breath.
By her side, the plump Cotton Caterpillar struggled to move along…
