Back To The 90s: The Resilient Daughter-In-Law-Chapter 2039 - 2057: Monitoring Ji Yuanjie
Is she... is she still that lazy niece who loves to eat?
Didn’t the people from the old hometown say she was lazy and foolish?
Shen Zian finished chopping, put the knife down, "Third Aunt, does this look good to you?"
"It... it looks great, really great." She’s been doing household chores since she was little, and after years of chopping, her skills aren’t this impressive. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Shen Zian nodded in satisfaction upon hearing this, "Seems cooking isn’t that hard after all! First time chopping, and achieved this result." She truly is a genius, not only in military, but also quite adept in culinary skills!
"Third Aunt, whatever you need me to do in the future, just let me know directly."
Zhao Honglian didn’t know what to say upon hearing this. If Little An can improve and stay at home, it wouldn’t be hard to accept. She could help with the children and housework, allowing Zhao Honglian some time to earn money, which she wouldn’t find so hard to accept in her heart.

Su Hai came out from the noodle shop and directly got into the car Secretary Sun came to pick him up.
"Director Su, should we return to the headquarters? The commander has mentioned you several times during your absence." Secretary Sun spoke cautiously, as the Director had been busy with his niece’s matters and had taken quite a long leave.
Su Hai pinched his brow, his pale white fingers could dazzle anyone’s eyes. Secretary Sun immediately looked away, not daring to look further.
"First, let’s go to the compound to get the luggage Aunt packed, then head to the headquarters!"
"Yes!"
As the car started and left the noodle shop, Su Hai glanced back, his brows furrowing slightly, "Little Sun, arrange for someone to keep an eye on Ji Yuanjie. Report to me if there’s any movement."
Secretary Sun was taken aback, not expecting the Director to have him monitor Ji Yuanjie. Though curious, he wisely chose not to ask, knowing the Director must have his reasons, and he just needed to follow orders.
"Yes!"
In the compound of the Su family, only Su Hai and his nephew Su Huaian live there now, with Su Huaian spending most of his time in the school dormitory. Su Hai’s eldest brother, Su Jiang, serves as a commander in the Southern Military District and rarely returns, and when he does, it’s usually for work.
The large Su family home is usually cold and quiet, becoming lively only during the New Year. Su Hai spends the most time living there, and the housekeeper Aunt couldn’t be happier to see Su Hai come back, having packed two large boxes of luggage.
Secretary Sun looked shocked, as the Director’s luggage was certainly the most he had ever seen among anyone.
"Director Su, during your absence, Meng Ping came looking for you several times. Also, Lieutenant Colonel Huo."
Su Hai had always been kind to Meng Ping, and hearing he came to find him, a subtle smile appeared on his handsome face, "What’s that kid Meng Ping looking for me for?"
"He didn’t mention it upon hearing you weren’t here." Aunt shook her head.
"Alright, I got it." Su Hai nodded and instructed Secretary Sun to load his luggage into the car, then went to his room to change back into his military uniform, ready to head out.
Aunt hurriedly asked, "Director Su, aren’t you eating at home?"
Su Hai got into the car and responded, "I’ve already eaten."
On the way back to the headquarters, Su Hai seemed a bit distracted, lowering the window, he rested one hand on it, watching the scenery pass by with a distant gaze, his eyes deep and enigmatic. Secretary Sun stole a glance, not daring to disturb him.
He had followed the Director for many years, belonging to the absolute direct line of the Su family. He remembered when Director Su was still just Su Hai, a bright young man, handsome and outstanding, the secret crush of many.
