Back to the 80s: Raising my Wolfy Boyfriend-Chapter 51: That’s My Sister—Watch Out or I’ll Beat You Up!
She thought the old man would grumble, expressing his dissatisfaction, but she didn’t expect him to mention this.
Arranged marriage?
Gu Jin never really had any thoughts about marriage this lifetime; her previous life’s marriage drained all her emotions.
A husband with perverse hobbies, treated as a discard by the family, left to be tormented and pressured by her in-laws.
The nominal but empty marriage tormented her for a lifetime and made her emotionally exhausted. This life, she didn’t want to touch marriage again or get involved in emotions.
Those things were a form of torment for her, leaving a shadow in her heart.
Old man Gu saw his granddaughter’s complex expression, yet she showed no regret, knowing she didn’t care about this.
The old man sighed softly, turned, and slowly left to return to his room.
In the yard, Gu Decang and Chen Hong looked at Gu Jin with a regretful expression, thinking that after today’s incident, it would surely be hard for Gu Jin to find an in-law family in the future.
After everyone left, the couple didn’t talk to Gu Jin either, but started dealing with the wild boar meat in the yard.
Most people in the village who wanted to buy meat had already done so, but there were still several hundred pounds of pork left, and they didn’t know what to do with it.
Gu Minmin stood aside, her eyes shining brightly as she stared at Gu Jin, looking as if she wanted to approach her, but didn’t have the courage to step forward.
However, the only outsider, Wu Zhiren, patted Gu Jiajie’s shoulder with his big hand: "Jiajie! Your sister is awesome!"
That wasn’t enough to express his admiration, Wu Zhiren gave Gu Jin a thumbs up with his other hand.
"Amazing, you don’t often see such a bold girl!"
He withdrew his hand, touched his chin with one hand, and stared at Gu Jin, who was comforting a child in the yard.
"Get lost!"
Gu Jiajie shook off his friend’s arm, his expression somewhat displeased at his words.
He was a man himself, often hanging around with his buddies, frequently talking about which woman’s breasts were big, which woman’s butt was big, and how their figures were.
Even with his buddy, Gu Jiajie still raised his fist.
He waved his fist in front of Wu Zhiren as a threat: "That’s my sister. If you dare have any ideas, I’ll beat you up!"
"No, no, I wouldn’t dare!" said Zhiren as he moved closer to Gu Jiajie, whispering in his ear: "Good buddy, tell your sister, let me join you guys at the black market tonight."
Gu Jiajie pressed his lips, glanced at Gu Jin standing in the yard, who was gently whispering something to the little wolf pup.
This made him feel complicated for a moment, not because of good buddy’s suggestion, but because of the little wolf pup in Gu Jin’s arms. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
This kid seemed to have struck it lucky, getting his cousin’s attention, and was even being raised by her.
He couldn’t tell if he felt envy or rejection; he just had very complex feelings towards the little wolf pup.
"Alright, I’ll ask later, but don’t get your hopes too high."
"Just hearing you say that is enough for a buddy!"
The two turned and went back to the house.
In the yard, Gu Jin held the child in her arms, comforting him for a long while. Once he calmed down, she softly said: "Little An, be good. I’m hungry. How about we go to the kitchen and find something to eat?"
As soon as Gu Jin mentioned she was hungry, An Mingji immediately let go of her waist.
The child then took her hand and led her toward the kitchen.
After this entire ordeal, Gu Jin was truly hungry, but luckily there were leftovers from lunch being kept warm in the pot.
She served a bowl and ate it with some coarse grain buns.
The coarse grain went down her throat, a bit scratchy, and Gu Jin thought of buying some fine flour another day.
