Back to the 80s: Raising my Wolfy Boyfriend-Chapter 28: Why Is the Silly Kid So Happy?
Seeing his expression, knowing this was no joke, Village Chief He’s face turned significantly serious.
He stared at Gu Jin, disapprovingly saying, "You’re just a young girl, don’t create trouble for your family. Think more about the consequences of your actions and consider your family."
The village chief assumed that Old Gu would also be unwilling, so with good intentions, he advised Gu Jin, completely disregarding An Mingji beside him.
An Mingji was already in a daze upon hearing Old Gu’s words, his expression remarkably striking, devoid of his usual simple disguise, and his clear eyes turned murky and obscure.
He looked up in disbelief, staring at Gu Jin beside him.
After hearing Village Chief He’s remarks, his face turned pale.
Indeed, if he remembered correctly, Gu Jin was two or three years older than him, so how could she adopt him?
Gu Jin sensed the child’s grip on her hand tightening, knowing he was anxious.
She smiled and spoke to the village chief, "Grandpa He, I’ve already decided. I’m sixteen now and can’t live separately, so I came today to ask if you could take me to the town to change my age to make me two years older so that I can split from the Gu Family and add young An’s name."
"You... you child..."
Village Chief He didn’t expect her to have considered this far and didn’t know what to say for a moment.
Old Gu said, "Old He, just take the kids for a trip. The meat at home hasn’t been sorted out yet. Once the matter is done, I’ll have the child make another trip to deliver the pork leg meat to you."
Upon hearing this, Village Chief He found it hard to refuse.
That pig leg contained a lot of meat, twice as much as the seven or eight pounds in front of them.
It’s just a matter of going to the town, so he nodded, "Alright, when do we do it?"
Gu Jin looked at the anxious child beside her and smiled, "Grandpa He, the sooner the better. I think today is good. When we get back, we can catch the meat just in time."
"Alright!"
Village Chief He, thinking of the pork leg meat, returned the wild boar meat he was holding to the house, informed his family, and led Gu Jin and An Mingji towards the town.
Fortunately, when they left the Gu Family, they brought the family household registration book, saving an additional trip back home.
Old Gu was getting on in years, so he didn’t join the trip, saying he’d wait for them at home.
All the way, An Mingji held Gu Jin’s hand, feeling unreal.
Not until the afternoon did the matter get resolved, and Village Chief He led the two children back to the village.
Upon entering the village, Village Chief He parted ways with the two at the entrance. Gu Jin smiled as she said, "Grandpa He, I’ll have young An bring the pork over to you later."
"Got it!" Village Chief He walked home with a big grin.
Gu Jin led the child towards home, holding two household registration books, one for the Gu Family and one for her and An Mingji.
All the way, An Mingji kept staring intently at the new household registration book, his gaze hot and bold, utterly direct.
Gu Jin saw his bright eyes and lightly tapped his head with the brand-new household registration book.
She smiled and said, "Silly boy, you’re this happy?"
An Mingji nodded vigorously, unable to say a word.
He felt it was unreal, just like dreaming.
For the past few years, in poverty and distress, barely getting by day to day, suffering from the villagers’ humiliation, though he hadn’t completely broken down, he couldn’t hope for a brighter future.
Especially now, with his father gone, mother ran away, and grandmother passed on.
He had lost his relatives, and as for his uncle’s family, they were strangers and enemies to him.
