Chapter 41: Episode 41: The Alpha is Ready! [19+]

After that system announcement, Roxy was anxious about the next step.

It was finally time to get pregnant, so she had to get everyone ready.

The Iron-Wood cabin was warm and toasty. The cast-iron stove Roxy had installed was roaring, filling the room with the scent of burning pine and the faint, sweet aroma of the vanilla candles she had scattered around.

It was a stark contrast to the freezing, damp hellscape they had come from.

Roxy sat at the newly crafted wooden table, reviewing her inventory. She was trying to calculate how much LP she would need to build a perimeter fence because, frankly, Zarek was coming, and she preferred her ex-husband to have to knock before burning down her new house.

"System, what’s the price on a Fire-Retardant Wall?" she muttered, tapping the air.

[Item: Enchanted Stone Wall Blueprint - 10,000 LP]

She choked on an orange juice she was sipping with a wooden cup.

"Robbery," Roxy hissed. "Absolute highway robbery."

The heavy wooden door creaked open behind her. A gust of cool night air swirled in, only to be cut off immediately as the door slammed shut. Then, she heard the slide of the iron bolt locking into place.

Roxy froze. She spun around in her chair.

Kaelen stood there looking back at her with fire in his eyes.

He looked nothing like the starving, desperate creature she had dragged out of the swamp weeks ago. The protein shakes, the steak dinners, and the grueling construction work had done their job.

Roxy gulped.

Is it just me, or has the room gone ten times hotter?

He was shirtless, his skin glowing with health. His chest was broad, the ribs that used to protrude now buried under thick slabs of muscle. His silver hair was clean and tied back, exposing the sharp, predatory line of his jaw.

But it was his eyes that made Roxy’s mouth go dry.

"Kaelen?" Roxy squeaked, her voice jumping an octave. "Is... is everything okay?"

Kaelen didn’t answer. He walked toward her, his movements fluid and predatory.

He stopped right in front of her, placing his hands on the arms of her chair, trapping her. He leaned down, his face inches from hers. He smelled of pine and raw, masculine heat.

"You fed the Wolf," Kaelen rumbled, his voice vibrating deep in his chest. "You cleaned the Wolf. You built the Wolf a home."

"I did," Roxy swallowed, her heart hammering against her ribs. "It was... a community service project."

He didn’t understand her words and didn’t care.

"The project is complete," Kaelen whispered, his lips grazing her ear. "The Wolf is strong now. And he is hungry."

He pulled back slightly to look her in the eyes.

"You said we would try again when I was ready. When my blood was burning for you." He took her hand and placed it on his hardened length. His heart was beating slow, powerful strokes, like a war drum. "Feel it, Roxy. I am ready."

He wanted to claim her again.

[System Analysis: Target Kaelen.]

[Status: Peak Physical Condition.]

Stamina: Infinite.]

[Libido: Critical.]

Roxy gulped. Oh no. I can feel my upcoming death.

"Well," Roxy said, trying to summon words to counter him, though it sounded breathless. "I guess I should inspect the merchandise. Quality control is very important in my line of work."

Kaelen smirked, a dark, dangerous expression that did things to Roxy’s insides.

"Inspect me," he challenged. He was slowly getting to understand her strange words.

He stood up and pulled her out of the chair. He didn’t carry her this time; he backed her up toward the [King-Sized Faux-Fur Bed].

"Last time," Kaelen said, his hands finding the sash of her robe, "I was weak. I was trembling. I took you because I thought I would die if I didn’t."

He tugged the sash. The robe pooled at her feet.

"Tonight," he growled, his eyes sweeping over her naked form with heat, "I take you because I can. Because I want to hear you scream my name until the moon falls from the sky."

"That sounds... loud," Roxy whispered.

Kaelen didn’t laugh. He pushed her onto the bed. The furs were soft against her back, but Kaelen was hard everywhere else. He crawled over her, bracing his weight on his arms, caging her in.

He kissed her.

It was slow. Deliberate. Masterful. His tongue swept into her mouth, tasting her, owning her. He kissed her like he had all the time in the world.

"Kaelen..." Roxy moaned, arching into him.

He pulled back, trailing kisses down her jaw, her neck, biting lightly at the sensitive cord of muscle there, where his mark stood. "You fixed me, Roxy. Now, let me break you."

He moved lower, his hands mapping her curves, squeezing her hips, his thumbs pressing into her soft flesh.

"You like this?" he murmured against her breast. "You like a strong Alpha?"

"I like... a quiet Alpha," Roxy gasped as his mouth closed over her nipple. "Less talking... more..."

He chuckled darkly against her skin. "As you wish, my Queen."

Where the fuck did he learn all these things?

He teased her, using his rough tongue and his skilled fingers until Roxy was a writhing mess on the furs, begging him to just finish it. But Kaelen was proving a point. He wanted to remind her that he was a beast.

And Roxy was getting the message clearly.

"Please," Roxy whined, her hips bucking. "Kaelen, seriously. I have things to do tomorrow."

"Tonight is your only task," he growled.

He positioned himself between her legs. He looked down at her, his eyes glowing blue in the dim light. He looked majestic. Savage.

"Take me," he commanded.

He thrust into her.

Roxy screamed. It was deep. So much deeper than before. He filled her completely, stretching her, claiming every inch of space inside her.

"Oh god~" Roxy panted, digging her nails into his shoulders.

Kaelen groaned, "You feel... perfect."

He set a pace that stole her breath. It was powerful, rhythmic, and relentless. The bed frame creaked in protest. The fire crackled. Roxy lost track of time. She lost track of where the cabin ended, and she began. There was only Kaelen. His heat, his weight, his scent.

"Mine," he grunted with every thrust. "My mate. My mother of wolves."

Roxy wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him deeper, matching his ferocity. "Yes, I am yours, your mother of wolves..."

That was the trigger.

Kaelen growled as he increased his pace, slamming into her as if he wanted to snap Roxy into pieces, and Roxy? She was loving everything, she loves her sex rough, and these beast men always seemed to give her what she wanted.

"Fuck!" Roxy gasped, feeling him swell inside her. "Kaelen!"

"I cannot stop!" he roared, slamming into her one last time and locking them together.

The sensation was overwhelming, a feeling of absolute fullness, of being anchored to him. Kaelen collapsed onto his elbows, burying his face in her neck, shaking from the sheer force of his release.

He poured into her, wave after wave, growling low in his throat.

They lay there for a long time, locked together with him still buried inside her, while the fire died down. Kaelen peppered her face with kisses, whispering praises in her ear, treating her like the most precious thing in the universe.

"That," Roxy wheezed, staring up at the ceiling, "was definitely better than the riverbank."

Kaelen chuckled, a deep rumble against her chest. "I told you. I am strong now."

Finally, Kaelen pulled away with a reluctant groan, rolling to his side but immediately pulling her into his arms.

She waited for the chime.

[Ding!]

Here we go.

[Task Update: Secure the Wolf Bloodline.]

[Mating Status: Highly Successful. (Host Satisfaction: 10/10)]

Roxy smirked. Damn straight.

[Conception Status: FAILED.]

Roxy’s eyes snapped open. She sat up, ripping the furs off.

"WHAT?!" she shrieked.

Kaelen sat up, alarmed, reaching for her. "Roxy? What is it? Are you in pain?"

"I’m annoyed!" Roxy shouted at the air. "System! Explain! He ate the steak! He drank the shakes! He just railed me for three hours! What is the problem?!"

Kaelen didn’t know who she was talking to, but just sat by her side, looking everywhere.

[Analysis: Wolf King Sperm Count is rising rapidly. Motility is excellent.]

[Reason for Failure: Biological timing. Ovulation window missed by 4 hours. Or perhaps just bad luck. The Universe works in mysterious ways.]

[Suggestion: Try again immediately. Frequency increases probability.]

Roxy stared at the blue screen. She looked at Kaelen, who was watching her with big, confused puppy-dog eyes.

"What did the spirits say?" Kaelen asked hesitantly. "Is there... a pup?"

Roxy let out a long, frustrated groan and flopped back onto the pillows.

"No," she muttered. "The spirits say you missed the window."

Kaelen frowned. He looked at her, then down at himself. A slow, wicked grin spread across his face.

"Missed?" he murmured, moving over her again, his weight pressing her into the mattress. "Then I must try again. Until I hit the mark."

He kissed her neck, his hands already wandering.

"Practice makes perfect, my Queen."

Roxy sighed, feigning annoyance, though she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Fine," she whispered. "But if you don’t get me pregnant this time, I’m putting you on a diet of only kale."

Kaelen growled, biting her earlobe. "I will fill you with a litter if I have to."
