Awakened: Evolving to Godhood-Chapter 244 - Truth (b)
Theo cleared his mouth and replied, "Six and a half years."
It was hard to master something you weren't familiar with, and it was even harder to master something written in a language you don't speak. Theo had to spend three years learning the language of the soul race, and only after was he able to get to the central part. Others would need dozens of years to do the same as him, but Theo wasn't proud of himself. It's because he wasn't anyone else but himself, because he always wanted to surpass his limits, and also because there was someone better sitting next to him.
"What's your profession?"
Although it was something that he should hide from the world, he didn't find it necessary to keep this a secret from Elliot. Not only was he his friend and wouldn't betray him, but Theo also believed that it would be better to tell him so that he wouldn't choose the same subject as him and indulge in something else. What they needed right now wasn't similarities but varieties!
"Celes'te Artas A—ways of Nurturing and Destroying planets. Know it sounds weird, but it's great. It not only teaches you how to extract vitality and different types of energies from a planet to use it for your own cause but also how to feed it to other planets. A normal-grade planet like what Earth once was would advance into a magic-ranked planet. Once mastered to the supreme level, you can siphon vitality directly from the core of the planet to destroy it and make it impossible for one to farm or do other productive activities. At the same level, you can also give life to dead or dying planets."
Theo learned it for the last reason. He lived in a beautiful world, but the demonic gods invaded it and quickly took it over. The resistance put up by his people was crushed under the stomps of the raging beasts. Their stampede was impossible to stop. They lost so fast for another reason. The elves and the other races never shared the same ideals and thus were divided. A divided world was more accessible to conquer than a world where all the races had started to communicate, resonate and fight together.
"That sounds extremely impressing."
Elliot and Lucy's eyes were sparkling so brightly that Theo managed to read their thoughts.
"You guys shouldn't learn it, especially not you, Elliot. You already have the life sword, and using it, you can nurture the world already. It will be better if you guys learn a different profession from John and me. What we need right now is diversity. The more distinct knowledge we can bring back to our world and spread amongst trustworthy people, the better."
Elliot, Lucy, and the two beasts were fine with his decision. Time was limited, and they couldn't be too picky about what to do and what not to, and it was better to have people specializing in different people than to have many specialists in the same field.
"What about you?"
Elliot suddenly asked John about what he had learned over the years.
John smiled—his sharp canine teeth visible to everyone's eyes—and said, "I started with Esoteric engineering, but after I tapped into it and gained an intermediate-level understanding of it, I realized that it was pretty similar to talisman making. So, I later learned how to create talismans too. I am not the best there is, but I can make basic-grade combat mech and intermediate-grade talisman without a chance of failure. Oh yes, I forgot to tell you that all professions are classified into five major ranks, them being the novice-level, basic-level, intermediate-level, advanced-level, and finally, the supreme level. The destruction, productive, defensive, or auxiliary capabilities of one creation determine their rank."
Elliot was extremely expressed by what John had accomplished. "When I saw you that you were using your scouting skill to catch the movement of your opponent on the stage, I knew that you were a genius, and today you've proved it."
"Am not. You're just overpraising me." John felt embarrassed. Although he quickly learned the soul language and multiple professions, he never considered himself a genius.
"He isn't; you got a good head above your shoulder." Theo's gaze, which was a bit intense, landed on John. He was being honest with his praise as he was a person who didn't mind telling the truth when it mattered. John was a genius; he knew that since a long time ago. The pale vampire could learn new stuff far more quickly than others. While Theo failed to grasp the fundamental of his high-grade profession even after five years, John took half that time to learn what he chose.
Thus, he was a genius with a high IQ.
John laughed it off. 𝒇𝗿𝙚ℯ𝑤ℯ𝑏𝒏𝑜ѵe𝙡.c𝐨m
He didn't bother telling others that at first, he could only memorize things a lot faster than others. Still, after he drank blood and awakened to his true self, his memorizing ability got even better, and it became easier for him to learn more stuff in less time.
"Ah, what is happening?"
Suddenly, numerous blue flickers manifested in the room.
"It's a message from the queen."
When Theo said those words, the flickers moved towards the center of the table as one, looking no different than a stream of crystal clear light in the eyes of the onlooker. They grouped up to form a scroll with many words on it. It was hovering above the table and facing Theo.
Seeing his gaze focused on it, Elliot knocked on the table twice and asked, "Who is the queen?"
"The split soul of the saintess. She developed a personality of her own after spending thousands of years in this place." Theo answered.
"Oh, I see." Elliot was surprised to find out that a split soul could develop multiple personalities. If he ever gets the chance, he wouldn't hesitate to check it out.
"Umm, What's the message about?" Lucy asked right after.
