Avatar: Mage of All Elements-Chapter 122
Chapter 122 - 122
You could say that we were on our honeymoon. We enjoyed each other and spent all our time together. Most of the time we were out of bed, but we didn't forget to stay in shape.
After that break, I started working out again. I didn't dive into it, no. Why should I? Because now I had enough time to realize many of my ideas. For example, I tried to improve my eyes myself using Kaguya's method.
It wasn't much, but as a hobby, it was okay. Another idea I had was to create my own lava magic. According to my idea, I would have to sprout two energy channels from the core of earth and fire, then grow additional elemental nerves that would do essentially the same thing, and finally connect the energy channels to the additional nerves. Theoretically, this would give me lava magic at the expense of earth and fire magic.
But if you think about it, you could do the same thing with all four elemental nerves. And don't forget about energy magic. Anyway, there was a lot to do.
The first month was followed by the second, then the third. Sometimes, Zahir sent reports about Kaguya's adventures. But it wasn't always possible, because he moved around a lot and it wasn't possible to send a message everywhere. But we waited eagerly for each letter, and depending on its content, we felt different emotions. Joy, excitement, amazement, confusion, and anger.
One day, the letter was about Kaguya's attempted rape. Azula stopped me and insisted that Zahir had already destroyed the village and everyone involved. Zahir had done his job one hundred percent and was doing what he had to do.
I continued my experiments, wanting to be able to control the lava. I just couldn't get enough of it, that's all. It took me a long five years of experiments. Of course, I did them not on myself, but on not very conscious citizens of other countries.
And it took so long only because it's very difficult to find a magician who has the potential to develop two elements at the same time, but there were few, but there were such people.
As it turned out, growing energy channels and connecting them to the elemental nerves was difficult because I had very little information. I needed a base, which was energy magic. I also needed a new magic nucleus, one that had no color and was large enough to develop, which I took from baby animals that had the ability to develop magic.
Another funny thing was that the pure females' essence was not suitable for males, and vice versa. I didn't know why that was, but I found it amusing.
Of course, as I wanted to do, I didn't stop there and went a little further. There are only six combinations for the four elements. I made one, and when I understood the principle, I made the other five. I didn't know what I was going to get out of it.
It took me seven years to do everything. And I got there just in time. One day the energetic background began to change at a tremendous rate. Neither I nor Azula nor any of the islanders were affected, and we used magic as best we could.
However, I was well aware that this was not a normal development. Something had happened to accelerate events that should have taken decades, if not centuries, to unfold.
As a result, almost everyone lost magic over the next three years. Of course, this did not affect the countries in the best way. Everything that was tied to magic and mages stopped working.
But I learned the reason for the change. It turned out that Korra had gone to the spirit world for a reason. She wanted to find a replacement for Rava. She didn't, except she somehow found one of the tree's roots. Without thinking, she wanted to get Rava back by ripping her out of the tree and destroying it.
But she overlooked an important factor. This tree is an integral part of the world, and destroying or changing it can affect many. As a result, Korra was crushed into dust by the energy recoil. All of this was witnessed by her friend Asami, who told all of this in the Republic City, where my people had already learned this information and passed it on to me.
It was a miracle that chaos didn't break out. But small wars began. I carried scrolls and books from the greatest libraries under the clamor of the people. The island would survive no matter what, so preserving history was a priority.
The funny thing is that it wasn't me who came up with the idea, it was the island leader who organized the whole thing, I just supported him and the great looting of the libraries began. At some points I had to intervene to keep things quiet, but mostly I didn't have to. I just smiled about it.
