Attribute Farming System-Chapter 52: Slaying the Harpy Sky Sovereign

The Half-step Soul Formation Realm Harpy Lady—otherwise known as the Harpy Queen—didn't understand what was going on.

"You don't know how you got here? How can that be—"

SHING!

"Wha—!?"

In the split second that the Harpy Queen let her guard down, Knox blink-stepped and stabbed her in the stomach. A second Intent Sword slash followed, separating her head from her neck.

"T…The Queen!!"

"S-She has died!!"

"The human killed the Queen—!"

"Be quiet," Knox said as he blurred before reappearing in the same spot. Dripping off the edges of his black Intent Sword was the reddish-gold blood of every Harpy in the surroundings. "I'm trying to track a powerful presence that got a little too nosy just now. Stop distracting me."

Of course, the furious and vengeful Harpies didn't heed his warning. Too overcome with grief, sorrow, and rage, they mindlessly charged at him, incidentally ravishing the picturesque Greek-like scenery in the process.

The whole floating island was designed to look like a Greek paradise, with snow-white pillars and old architecture scattered about. There were even lush, green hills and softly falling waterfalls sprinkled here and there. Up above all this was a very big temple. Its dragon-coiled pillars—the size of Texas—held it in the air.

OOOM!

An extremely powerful aura blasted out from the huge temple, causing it to crack in several places. The cliff-lip it sat on started to crumble and break apart, its structural integrity failing.

"ROOOAAARGGHHH!!!"

Adding another layer of surprise was the sudden movement of the coiled-pillar dragons that had once appeared to be stone statues. They unwrapped themselves before springing off the pillars and ascending to the heavens.

The dragons numbered ten in total, with the lead black-colored one being the largest and most formidable. A singular lightning-covered horn stuck out the front of its scaly head, lying just between both its draconic eyes.

Stranger yet was the comparatively tiny humanoid figure standing atop the strongest dragon's head. He had four pairs of wings, a Sky-ranked lightning-infused spear twice his size, and a terrifyingly scary face that contained enough anger in it to drown the world.

"This is Stratos Heaven! One of our race's holy places!!" the figure bellowed, his voice reaching every inch of the hundred-mile-wide floating island. "And not only have you killed my son—the current King of the Harpies—you've also killed his wife and all their children!!"

Knox's brows furrowed in displeasure as he spun his Intent Sword around in a laid-back manner.

"Hey, dude, don't put it like that," he said. "Their children were all hundreds of years old. Furthermore, I heard from some villagers before I came here that your son, his wife, their children, and just about every single birdperson in this place have been killing humans. Not only that, they actively captured and set humans free, only to hunt them for game."

"Yeah, buddy, I'm not the bad guy here," he continued, conjuring hundreds more strands of Sword Intent. "I'm the good guy. The Savior. The Hero."

"!!!!"

Despite the supposed heroic speech, the mysterious figure didn't seem to care. More likely than not, he had been involved in the heinous acts committed by his people.

Hell, it was highly possible that he was the very one who created the sport.

"Human Clans and all humans in them are treated like slaves in this world of Pandora," Knox coldly uttered as he leaned back, pumping his muscles and calling upon his Innate Energy Sea. "Although I'm not the justice type or especially patriotic, every good hero needs a valid enough reason to begin killing sprees. Thankfully, you and the rest of the farm animals give me all the reasons I require and then some."

"SHUT UP, WORM!!"

"ROOOARRGHH!!!"

RUMBLE!

The mysterious Harpy figure rushed forward—the dragons following quickly behind. They burned through the atmosphere, moving many times the speed of light. Fire and lightning blazed and crackled behind and in front of them, creating a vibrant magical conflagration of elements that instantly incinerated entire cities and all the Harpies in them.

"Arghhh!!"

"P-Please help me!!"

"I…I don't want to die—"

No matter how much the denizens of Stratos Heaven screamed out in anguish, their Almighty Ruler ignored their pleas. His fury melted away the last of his sanity as he put everything he had into a single, devastating attack.

Knox shook his head.

He moved. He disappeared.

SPURT! SPURT! SPURT!

"What even was the point of doing all that?" he asked in a tone devoid of emotion, slashing off all the blood on his Intent Sword. "Losing your mind in battle is about as stupid a move as one can make. A pity, really. You were stronger than any of the farm animals I've encountered thus far. But you wasted all of it by letting your anger consume you."

Held within Knox's left hand was the head of the mysterious figure, his lifeless face frozen in disbelief.

SHA! SHA! SHA!

All around Knox, his Intent Swords were constantly clashing with the dragons. A few of the dragons had died before they could activate their Innate Barriers, including the black one that he personally decapitated. This left only six dragons still alive, all of whom were put on the steep defensive as Intent Swords cracked their Innate Barriers.

Within seconds, every single dragon's Innate Barrier had shattered. The Intent Swords then immediately took the opportunity to pierce through their tough scales.

SPLASPURT!

A massive bloody display followed as hundreds of enlarged Intent Swords skewered the six dragons. All traces of life faded, with even their Nascent Souls having been completely erased.

The System Notifications and Attribute Orbs then rained in.
