Attribute Farming System-Chapter 47: Entering The Secret Realm, Watching from the Outside
'I suppose I'm the only one among us who isn't out there exploring for inheritances,' Knox thought as the depression settled in. 'On a side note, what the hell is a Crazy Human!? Has her insanity affected her so much that it altered her goddamn race??'
Just as that thought formed inside his mind, a loud disturbance came from off to the side. And when he saw what caused it, his sadistic side emerged as he knew just what his Side Quest would be on this little outing of his.
"The Tracker Amulet is ringing like crazy, Count!" someone shouted. "That weasel-like bastard must be somewhere around here!"
"Yes, I can tell as much," said Count Buford as he took out a communication talisman and contacted his fellow conspirators. "He's here. Knox Falazar is here among the crowd."
Count Roderick, Count Thorne, and the Ten Thousand Poisons Sect Leader had their eyes widen in surprise. They immediately sent out their Divine Senses, but seeing as they weren't the strongest gathered there, they retracted them almost as soon as they sent them out.
"How are we to find this cunning bastard if we can't scan the area!?" Count Roderick asked. "Do we have no choice but to give up??"
"No, there's still something else we can do," said Sect Leader Ten Thousand Poisons. "Manually search and sieve through the crowd. One way or another, we'll locate the bastard. And I assume everyone has already called for their disciples and subordinates? If so, then direct them toward the outer parts of the Devilstar Secret Realm in a circle formation. Let's ensure that the mouse has nowhere to flee in this game of cat and mouse."
"Understood!"
The three Counts and the Rank 4 Sect Leader concluded their secret discussion. They all dispersed, each with their own objectives in mind.
Knox watched them closely, diverting a portion of his attention to the speedily moving Soul Formation Realm Cultivators. 'What are they up to?' he wondered. 'Ahh… so that's what they're doing.'
He had to admit, it wasn't a terrible plan. However, it also wasn't a very well-thought-out plan. Did they honestly believe that they'd be able to find someone in disguise among a large crowd of cultivators? And under the scrutinizing eyes of so many powerful cultivators, no less?
'Naturally, they won't succeed,' Knox thought. 'But this'll make for an entertaining show when I return from the Secret Realm.'
He was hoping that it'd end up being a bloodbath, but for that to occur, he would need to become substantially stronger while inside the Secret Realm. From what he had heard among the sea of cultivators, the Secret Realm would remain open for a year. And if he played his cards right, that should be more than enough time to improve his power by leaps and bounds.
OOUNG!
Coincidentally, just as Knox entertained the idea of becoming even more overpowered, a resonating gong sound echoed. It spread throughout the surroundings, knocking cultivators and Spirit Ships off balance.
Some, however, remained unaffected by the opening sound of the Secret Realm. Among the younger generation, this included figures like Lenon, Star-Gazer Child, Nala, Nyx, Lucidador, and Maya. There were also a few descendants of the Dukes, Counts, lower nobles, and Lesser Sects who weren't affected by the resonance of the gong.
In total, three hundred among the younger generation felt little to nothing in the face of the Secret Realm's opening. This number was important, for these were the exact number of people who were instantly transported away in pillars of light.
Those who did not make the cut, however, were left stupidly staring at each other. Many of them were still in the process of understanding what had happened, but once they did, despair sank in.
"How could I have not been eligible to enter the Secret Realm!? I'm the son of a Count!"
"This is an outrage!!"
"I didn't feel a thing from the gong!" someone shouted hysterically, their ears and nose bleeding. "Please, you must believe me! J-Just let me in, and I'll forget that this offense ever happened…! My father is an Official Minister!"

The Soul Formation Realm Experts—who numbered in the hundreds—did a quick headcount. They were checking to see who among their lots had been accepted by the Secret Realm. And though many of the experts were left disappointed, there were also numerous who were radiating happiness.
Elena—the 13th Princess's Royal Attendant—looked at the spot where her Lady had just been standing. Yet, in spite of the disappearance of said Lady, her expression didn't even so much as flinch. She simply noted the event before walking away—her destination: the hot bubbly bath that she had prepared beforehand.
For her, this major event for the Water Kingdom was no more than an excuse for her to have some R & R time for herself.
Attending to someone as emotionally detached as the 13th Royal Princess wasn't easy, after all…
In other places, such as the Falazar's Spirit Ship, Nyx's aura fluctuated unusually. Her ears turned into something akin to radio dishes as she could have sworn she felt the presence of the person she cared about most in the world.
However, after coming up empty-handed, Nyx's expression worsened even more than earlier. She stormed off into the confines of the Spirit Ship, heading straight to her father's private office to file the one-millionth complaint to him, demanding that he rescind the banishment of Knox.
Something similar was happening in the Bonanier Family's Spirit Ship as well. The only difference was that Cela hounded her poor, chubby father about marriage, also going back and forth with him about declaring war on the "skanky b*tch" and her skanky family.
Count Bonanier declined the war proposal.
Cela insisted.
Count Bonanier declined.
Cela had no other option but to insist.
And it went on like this until a bright pillar of light suddenly enveloped her and a few others who should have been initially transported into the Secret Realm. The pillars of light forcefully teleported them to where the others had gone, which both gave Count Bonanier some respite and a bit of confusion.
However, after taking into consideration the age of the Unorthodox Devilstar's Secret Realm, Count Bonanier, along with the others, figured the belated teleportations to just be a malfunction.
They occasionally spoke with each other outside the Secret Realm, patiently awaiting the appearance of the "screens."
