Assassin at Range: The Sniper's Lethal Power-Chapter 124 - : The Intense Auction
GemmaS’s suggestion piqued NightStalker’s interest. He couldn’t help but say, "That’s a great idea. Let’s call it our guild’s first collective activity."
He added, "That is, if the Guild Master agrees."
Tristan, of course, had no objections. If they could craft the Destroyer, acquiring a guild territory would be much easier. Moreover, having the guild members run dungeons together would strengthen their bond—he was all in.
With that in mind, Tristan promptly replied, "No problem. Once the auction here wraps up, we can head out. Sound good?"
GemmaS’s face lit up. "With you on board, it’s a sure thing."
DarkStriker chimed in, "I’ve heard about Blackshade’s insane damage. I’ve been wanting to see it for myself."
Manalady agreed as well.
Running dungeons not only meant better equipment and leveling up, but also the chance to interact with Blackshade up close—talk about a win-win.
The plan was unanimously approved.
Tristan checked his friends list and noted that ShieldBreaker, having earned a fortune, said he would log off to "calm down." If he didn’t come online soon, they could always try again later. Of course, it was possible that ShieldBreaker might choose to retire right then and there.
Tristan knew the strange nature of ExoGenesis, but others only saw it as a game for now. ShieldBreaker’s 270 million could make him consider retiring, and that wasn’t hard to understand. After all, Tristan himself had the same thought in his previous life—get a big payout and retire early. Unfortunately, he wasn’t as lucky as ShieldBreaker; had he been able to score a Guild Token, his life might’ve turned out much differently.
"If only the fates aligned better," Tristan mused.
Lost in thought, he was already nearing Violet Street.
As he entered the shop, he caught the tail end of an auction.
Cleric Sophie, with a small hammer in hand, struck down the final blow. "One hundred seventy thousand, going three times! Congratulations on winning the Obsidian Plate Armor!"
The armor, a Silver Grade item dropped by the Giant Lord Jerobi back in the newbie village, was a level 10 item with excellent defense and hefty health bonuses. Tristan hadn’t expected it to fetch such a high price, but then again, wealthier players were in abundance.
"Man, there sure are a lot of rich folks around," Tristan muttered under his breath.
Noticing Tristan’s arrival, Sophie sent him a message: "You’re back! You can take over the auction from here."
Tristan replied, "You keep going. I’m just here to watch."
He wasn’t one for the spotlight, and Sophie seemed more than capable, so he was content to let her continue.
Sophie didn’t argue. She quickly presented the next item: a Silver Grade Obsidian Necklace, which was eventually sold to a mage guild leader for 1.6 million.
With three items, the total came to 4.8 million, and this was just the beginning. Tristan still had several more items for Sophie to auction.
Looking around at the gathering leaders, Sophie raised her voice a little and said, "Alright, appetizers are done. Now, let’s spice things up a bit."
She showcased the properties of the Gold Grade Crimson Robe.

The guild leaders in attendance all seemed to hold their breath for a moment.
Gold Grade equipment! And it even boosted the much-needed casting speed—perfect for magic users.
One impatient guild leader shouted from below, "How much to start?"
"Enough talking. I’ll swipe my card right now!"
"Even though it requires level 15 to equip, it’s worth it. Better buy it now than regret it later."
The room buzzed with discussion, each leader clearly determined to get their hands on this item.

Drake sat up straighter, ready for action. Since he was a warrior and wouldn’t be able to use the robe, it was going to be for Sophie.
Sophie wasted no time and called out, "Starting bid: 500,000."
Before she could even finish, a guild leader shouted, "Two million!"
At this bid increase, one might think the person was trying to mess with the auction, but no one in the room seemed bothered. They quickly followed suit.
"Two million five hundred thousand!"
"Three million!"
"Three million three hundred thousand!"
The price climbed steadily, and it seemed as if they were bidding in increments of just a few hundred dollars, not millions.
Meanwhile, the live stream of the auction was still ongoing. Watching from home, players were practically salivating over the Crimson Robe.
This was top-tier equipment!
As the bidding continued to skyrocket, many viewers were shocked to see the price shoot up to five million, a sum that, on the surface, seemed beyond reach. Yet, the bidders were unfazed, their expressions completely neutral.
One player in the live chat commented, "I used to think spending a hundred thousand on equipment was crazy, but now I see five million for a single piece. Maybe these high-end items are just out of my league."
The comment resonated with many other players.
"Tell me about it. If I had that much money, I’d probably be too nervous to wear it, in case I got killed and lost it."
"People who can afford this gear? They won’t get killed easily. It’s the others who should be worried."
"That’s true, but there are so many pros in ExoGenesis—you can never be too careful. Just yesterday, the Shadow Legion was ambushed by IFA, and they lost all their equipment. They’re considered strong, right? But even they got wiped."
"Don’t even mention the Shadow Legion. That name just cracks me up."
"Two hundred seventy million to start ExoGenesis’ second guild, and now look at them!"
"Yeah, Shadow Legion’s fame has certainly grown."
The live stream chat exploded with replies, mostly in jest. Read exclusive chapters at novelbuddy
Back in the shop, the guild leaders kept bidding.
Once the price passed the five million mark, the auction didn’t slow down. In fact, the pace quickened.
"Ten million!"
Storm77, the Celestial Club’s leader, pushed the price up by a full digit, jumping to an eight-figure bid.
This caused a few of the other leaders to hesitate. After all, ten million could buy an entire set of Silver Grade gear, which would probably offer better overall bonuses.
However, there were still those who weren’t concerned about money, and they pressed on.
Drake was one of them. After Storm77 made his bid, he immediately raised the stakes.
"11 million!"
