Ascension of The Unholy Immortal-Chapter 336: Exposed
"It’s of no consequence," Junior Sister Feng replied nonchalantly, also raising her glass.
"Feng Xue, I must say, you indeed are a prodigy. How you have managed to recover your cultivation so fast is simply amazing," another voice said in praise.
"Senior Brother Ming is too kind," Feng Xue replied humbly. "It was only a stroke of fortune."
"Fortune favors the prepared," Senior Brother Long said with a smile. "Your talent and the backing of our Divine Spirit Palace have contributed much to your success."
Feng Xue grinned back, her eyes flashed with ambition. "Yes, I am thankful for the assistance of the Divine Spirit Palace. I have not forgotten the oath I swore."
The group carried on talking, with Liang as an unnoticed onlooker, his eyes fixed upon Feng Xue.
"This woman cultivation has improved greatly, late stage void Transformation Realm." Liang thought, "with the power offered by her bloodline she should have the power of a half step void return realm expert."
Right now Liang cultivation could be said to be at this level, "that’s problematic"
If it comes to fighting and killing, then he would have no problem doing that. The thing is that he needs to catch her and refine her soul.
"There’s also the people beside her, I’m still not sure if they will be accompanying her or each will be on their own." Liang smiled wryly, in fact he still isn’t sure about their purpose.
All of a sudden, Liang’s eyes fluttered slightly as he looked in a certain direction with a surprise in his face.
"At least ten late stage Alter Formation Realm experts," Liang lips curled up, " that’s getting interesting. "
Just moments after Liang detected the arriving masters, Senior Brother Wang’s complexion suddenly changed.
"We have been outed!"
The instant he yelled, the roof of the inn blew off.
Suddenly, ten figures in golden armours appeared in the dark sky, each in a different place, circling the inn.
"Brother Wang initiate the plan," Senior Brother Long said grimly as he crushed a jade slip in his hand.
When he heard the word, he also crushed a jade slip in his hand.
But the two jade slips were different in color and texture.
Brother Long’s slip was bright red, while Brother Wang’s was green.
As the ruckus erupted in the tavern, ten regal figures dropped from the heavens. Their golden armors glimmered ominously. Each of them was radiating an overpowering aura; their cultivation was at the Alter Formation Realm’s Late Stage. Well, they were none other than elite enforcers of the Devil Court.
Under their commander’s lead, a hard-looking man called General Wu, they efficiently locked all the entrances and exits, preventing those inside from getting out. Their faces were hard and merciless; their swords were drawn, prepared to crush down.
General Wu’s gaze swept the room, locking on to the hooded figures. "By order of the Devil Court, you are under arrest for plotting against the realm. Surrender now, or suffer the consequences."
In a moment, a false scarlet wall ringed the inn, now sundered from the outer world.
"Spatial seal," Wang muttered, a faint concern tingeing his voice.
The devil’s court must have somehow anticipated their move, something that hadn’t come up in their calculations.
Brother Wang waved his hands and released a bewitching green mist that covered the entire barrier so that nothing inside could be seen from the outside.
"Brother Wang, you…" Senior Brother Long was shocked at the sight.
"We have underestimated the enemy’s capability," Brother Wang said solemnly. "If we cannot get out of this predicament, our plan would be affected."
"Brother Wang, you mustn’t!" Senior Brother Long hurriedly tried to stop him, but it was too late.
Brother Wang’s body started radiating a dazzling light as his life force was fast slipping away.
At the same time, countless spatial portals appeared inside the inn.
Feng Xue’s eyes narrowed as she sensed an opportunity. In an instant, she conjured a crimson lotus beneath her feet, its petals unfolding with radiant energy. She jumped onto the lotus and took to the sky, racing toward the nearest spatial portal.
The sleek sword of Senior Brother Long dripped with otherworldly energy as he battled to get to another portal, but General Wu appeared before him, holding an enormous warhammer that shattered space.
But Senior Brother Long did not give up and, brandishing his sword, shot out a flood of brilliant sword beams, which General Wu easily parried with his warhammer.
Meanwhile, the sacrifice by Senior Brother Wang gave them a chance to escape. The remaining True Spirit experts pounced on the opened portals, crazily breaking through in search of a way out of this devilish encirclement.
But their hopes were dashed as the portals suddenly began to ripple and distort. They collapsed into nothingness, severing their only means of escape.
"Trifling trick, do you think it will work?" A cold voice suddenly froze the air, as a white-armored figure appeared in the sky.
"It’s hopeless!" cried Senior Brother Long, desperation in his voice. "We’re trapped!"
Feng Xue’s eyes sparkled with determination. "Not yet," she said. "We still have one chance."
She raised her hand, and a blazing talisman was summoned; its intricate runes vibrated with might from ages past. She flicked her wrist and tossed the talisman at the nearest wall.
With a deafening explosion, the talisman struck the stone, creating a swirling vortex of flames. The disciples watched in utter awe as the vortex expanded and its edges began to lick at the very fabric of space.
"It’s a spatial tunnel!" exclaimed Senior Brother Long. "We can escape through there!"
Without hesitation, the true spirits converged towards the vortex, their hearts pounding with hope. They leaped into the swirling flames, one by one, disappearing into the unknown.
As the last one vanished, Feng Xue turned to face General Wu. Her eyes blazed with defiance, and her body radiated with an otherworldly aura.
With a graceful movement, she raised her hand and unleashed a torrent of crimson flames that engulfed General Wu. The flames danced and twisted around the devilish enforcer, consuming his armor and searing his flesh.
General Wu roared in agony, but Feng Xue’s flames were relentless. They burned away his defenses, reducing him to a charred skeleton in a matter of seconds.
With the devilish commander dead, the spatial tunnel stabilized, its flames subsiding. Feng Xue stepped through the vortex, disappearing into the unknown.
Liang silently observed the unfolding events, a thoughtful expression on his face.
"That woman has something that belongs to me… it seems fate is on my side."
He then turned and walked toward the exit of the inn, intending on following the True Spirit beings through the spatial portal.
However, just as he reached the portal, a pair of golden hands suddenly emerged from the void, grabbing him by the neck.
Liang struggled, but the hands were relentless.
"Who are you?!" a cold voice demanded.
Liang activated his universe sense, trying to break free from the hands’ grip, but it was futile.
"Mind your own business."
As he uttered these words, a surge of power erupted from Liang’s body, shattering the golden hands into dust.
The experts outside the barrier were stunned by the scene. They had not expected anyone within the inn to be capable of resisting their spatial seal and energy suppression.
Liang stepped out of the inn, his eyes scanning the golden armored figures surrounding him.
"You are…"
Then white armoured man stepped forward. "You dare to defy the Devil Court? Do you have a death wish?"
Liang’s lips curled into a faint smile. "You’re not the first person to ask me that. And I’m afraid you won’t be the last."
With a flick of his wrist, Liang unleashed a torrent of sword energies, each one imbued with the power of his universe. The sword energies formed a swirling vortex that tore through the white armor of the Devil Court expert.

The white armored figure waved his hand and instantly the sword energies around him disappeared.
The other devil experts instantly moved surrounding Liang.
"Let him leave," The white armoured figure rised his hand.
Liang looked at the white armoured man surprise before, then he turned and followed the spatial tunnel towards the destination of the True Spirit beings.
As Liang disappeared, the golden-armored figures remained motionless, their expressions a mix of disbelief and curiosity.
"How did he do that? Even our spatial seal and energy suppression couldn’t contain him," muttered one of the experts.
"Should we report this to the court?" another expert said grimly. Liang’s presence was not part of their plan.
The white-armored man, who seemed to be the de facto leader of the group, shook his head. "No. Not yet."
"But Commander, he defied the authority of the Devil Court. We cannot let him go unpunished," protested one of the experts.
"I understand your concerns," the white-armored man replied. "But we need to gather more information before making any hasty decisions. For now, let us focus on completing our mission."
"Very well, Commander," said one of the experts. "We will await your orders."
