Chapter 983: Alchemy

Vale was grateful that Sabrina had shown him around despite her being busy with her work.

He then paused for a moment, glancing at the rest of the Spirit Beast Stalls... There were actually a lot of Spirit Beasts here. He might have to go into seclusion and create as many Divine Crystals as he could, so he could purchase a lot of them.

It was something he was seriously considering right now.

After all, unlike the others who had to take a lot of time to acquire Divinity Points and put a lot of effort into creating Divine Crystals, he had his Divine Extraction System and also its ability to bestow the extracted Divinity or any Energy he obtained to other objects.

Because of that, he would have an easier time creating Divine Crystals than any other Immortals at his level.

But first... he wanted to see more.

He ascended the tower again, this time choosing a higher floor... Thankfully, there were various guides and signs, so he didn’t get lost...

’Now that I think about it. My Divine Sense has been limited to about 30 meters inside this Tower.’ Vale mused. He only thought of it now since he didn’t really need to have an extended scanning ability.

Anyway, he soon reached the higher floor where signs of "Alchemy" were literally everywhere...

Apparently, just as the elevator opened, Vale was assaulted by a wave of dense, pungent air of herbs. Well, it was mostly earthy, bitter, and tinged with a strange sweetness. It was bearable, so he knew that he just had to get used to it for a few moments.

He had indeed entered the Alchemy Floor.

At this point, Vale had no idea what to find or what he needed to find on this Alchemy Floor. He simply wanted to see whether there would be anything that would interest him.

In any case, unlike the polished elegance of the Spirit Beast Floor, the Alchemy Level had a more grounded, practical design.

It seemed like it was due to the various ingredients being sold in many stalls.

If he were to make a guess, the lights were designed to preserve the integrity of photosensitive ingredients.

Vale walked slowly as he absorbed the details.

He soon passed by a long wooden stall managed by a wrinkled old Arcane Practitioner who looked more tree than man. There were barklike veins running down his arms, so he couldn’t help but guess that this person was most likely a Druid...

Anyway, he didn’t bother investigating the man as he saw dried herbs and mosses stacked behind the shopkeeper.

’I have no records of those... Interesting.’ Vale mused as he read the tags that were handwritten.

Tree Soulleaf ( 10 Arcane Crystals per root) — "Promotes rapid soul recovery during meditation."

Bluemist Fern ( 5 Arcane Crystals per pouch ) — "Used in stealth elixirs and anti-detection salves."

...

Bluesnow Lily ( 20 Arcane Crystals per piece ) — "Combines fire and ice elements. Used in high-tier berserker pills."

There were many more alchemy ingredients.

Further down the corridor, a wide shop managed by a Half-Immortal in a black robe caught Vale’s eye. The sign above read:

"The Eternal Mortar — Alchemy Emporium."

Inside, Vale saw rows of shelves with vials and neatly labeled pill containers.

The store doesn’t have any customers at the moment as most of them people were just looking around outside at the stalls.

Kling~

A gentle bell rang as he entered.

The clerk, a young woman with green eyes, greeted him with a nod.

"Welcome, Immortal. Looking for pills, herbs, or tools today?"

Vale gave her a glance, then turned his attention to the left wall of the store.

"I’ll look around for now..." He replied.

As he observed the shelves or the Herb Racks that stretched along one entire aisle, he noticed that they were mostly rare ingredients that could only be found in this realm.

The Thousand-Year Nightshade Fruit was a deep violet berry noted to catalyze dreamwalking or hallucination-based cultivation.

The Everspring Root was described as a root that never decays and was used to prolong the shelf life of any pill it touches.

There were also the Arcblossom Petals that were faintly emitting a sweet smell. As noted on their cards, these black petals could only grow in areas with spatial fissures. They were crucial for teleportation potions and null-space arrays.

Vale wasn’t sure if these things would be helpful or not. After all, not one of them was in his realm.

Still, if they could do something useful, he knew that even a small batch could change a lot, especially if it was meant to deal with the Chaos Immortals.

"There are no posted prices though..." Vale muttered.

Still, he didn’t want to ask the price for each of them, so he just turned to the pill section. If he really needed them, he would consider asking the shopkeeper.

At the Pill Section, Vale noticed that they were arranged in colors. Thankfully, there were notes about the difference in colors. Furthermore, the prices are already noted.

’I guess there are no prices for the ingredients because the quality can deteriorate or something?’ Vale mused.

Apparently, scarlet or red pills were for body tempering. The green ones are for detoxification, while the gold pills are for energy amplification, and so on.

Anyway, Vale found a few interesting items. They were even in special racks.

[ Soulroot Awakening Pellet — "Stabilizes soul fracturing and enhances clarity for soul cultivation." ( Cost: 30 Divine Crystals per bottle of five ) ]

[ Stormheart Elixir — "Increases elemental synchronization speed. Best used before attempting affinity merges." ( Cost: 55 Divine Crystals ) ]

[ Nine-Turn Purity Pill — "Removes residual impurities in one’s bloodline and meridians. Increases base physique." ( Cost: 250 Divine Crystals ) ]

Since this shop posted its prices, Vale believed that they should be fairly priced.

Although they were on the expensive side, it also sounded reasonable.

Vale stared for a long moment at the Purity Pill.

’Something like this could elevate even a trash constitution into a warrior’s body... And that’s only one bottle.’
