Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus-Chapter 1211 - 748: Cleaning Up Is Such a Hassle [First Update]
The two people who had just crawled out of the building didn’t have time to react before bullets pierced their bodies.
Gaa—
Dapao slammed on the brakes, stopping the vehicle about ten meters away from the two bodies that were already corpses.
The gunshots attracted the survivors remaining from the Western Alliance.
These people quickly turned their gaze toward the direction of the gunshots, their faces full of confusion.
The base was short of bullets, no one would use them like that, and the sound just now didn’t seem like it came from a handgun.
Old Zhuang suddenly stood up and looked toward the West Gate, his face filled with fear.
Old Che also came over to look in that direction, "What’s going on?" Old Che said to Old Zhuang.
Old Zhuang’s face turned grim, various thoughts flashed through his mind, and he said, "This sound shouldn’t be from any gun we have in our base; maybe someone has gotten in."
Old Che swallowed and said, "You mean, last night’s explosion and zombies coming in were all targeted at us?"
Old Zhuang didn’t answer but gripped the gun tightly, left the window, and leaned against the wall.
Seeing some people still sticking their heads out at the window toward the sound of gunfire, he reprimanded, "Get down! Are you afraid those people won’t notice us?"
At these words, the people originally at the window promptly sat down, not daring to appear at the window.
Everyone sat against the wall, each person’s face full of terror toward the unknown enemy.
The atmosphere seemed eerie and somber, no one speaking.
It was as if everyone was straining to listen carefully to the noises outside.
.......
After dealing with the two people here, the vehicle stopped for two seconds.
Li Tie suddenly spoke again, "At 12 o’clock direction, around 150 meters, four people spotted."
Dapao stepped on the accelerator, roaring toward that direction.
These four people heard the commotion from the gunshots and wanted to come over and take a look.
However, before they could reach there, they heard the roar of a car. Amidst the roar, they saw a vehicle with a somewhat exaggerated design.
Soon after, merciless bullets poured over.
Bang bang bang—
Yang Tianlong swept toward the four people in front, rat-a-tat.
Those four fell, tires rolling over them.
After dealing with the four, Li Tie said, "No more sightings at the moment. Brother, should we start clearing from the first marked location?"
Li Yu nodded and said, "Yes, Dapao, drive to the East Wall, turn left, then..."
Li Yu directed Dapao while pulling out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, taking one out, and gazing out the window.
The car slightly shook as it traveled.
Soon, they arrived at the first location marked on the map.
It was a small building, doors, and windows all closed, with clear signs of zombie impacts on the door, seemingly ready to collapse at any moment.
The vehicle parked about twenty meters away from the small building, Yang Tianlong’s heavy machine gun aimed at it.
Inside the car, silence reigned, with only the sound of burning tobacco faintly audible, smoke curling and escaping through the gaps in the car windows.
Making it appear as though smoke was pouring from all sides of the vehicle.
Li Yu flicked the cigarette butt, took one last drag, then extinguished it.
Donning a helmet, he said solemnly to Li Gang, "Gangzi, come with me out of the car."
"Dapao, Tianlong, stay in the car and support us at all times, Tiezi, continue to monitor the base, report immediately if anyone comes out."
Then he picked up an assault rifle and got out of the vehicle.
Li Gang also climbed out of the car, the two avoiding heading directly towards the small building.
Li Yu signaled to Li Gang, indicating he should flank the building from the right.
The car faced the small building, Li Yu slightly stuck his head out, ready to rush left, but heard a voice in his earpiece.
"Brother Yu, there’s someone at the second-floor window." It was Dapao’s voice; he was intently watching the second floor, noticing the curtain being lifted and a pair of eyes staring at them in the darkness.
"Tianlong, cover us as we advance," Li Yu instructed.
"Got it."
Yang Tianlong cracked his neck and fired at the second-floor window.
The heavy machine gun roared to life, rat-a-tat-tat-tat!
In an instant, the second-floor window shattered under relentless fire, blood splattering on the curtains.
Followed by cries of anguish.
Quick as lightning.
Li Yu and Li Gang dashed forward towards the small building like cheetahs at lightning speed.
Bam!
Li Yu kicked the door that looked ready to collapse.
"?"
Unable to kick it open, the sound revealed something was blocking the door from inside.
Li Yu tried ramming it with his shoulder but failed after three attempts, deciding to abandon entering through the front door.
He stepped back, slung the assault rifle over his shoulder, and eyed the drainpipe protruding around the second-floor corner.
Li Yu stepped back a few paces, sprinted, and placed a foot on the wall, launching his body upward and clutching the drainpipe, climbing like a nimble ape.
Plop!
Li Yu stood on the second-floor ledge, looking at the window shattered by Yang Tianlong, and without hesitation, tossed in a hand grenade.
Boom!
Seconds later, Li Yu leaped inside, the room filled with swirling dust.
Four bodies were on the ground, two apparently killed by Yang Tianlong’s heavy machine gun, and two others apparently by the grenade explosion.
