Chapter 562: Chapter 562: Medicine For Zombies

Chu Hao walked over to his sister and placed an arm around her shoulders.

"Bunny. That was one hell of an attack. You scared the zombies back to their mothers."

Chu Miao rolled her eyes at her brother’s sense of humor. They were zombies, how could they run back to their mothers?

Moreover, "We are trying to eradicate all zombies and not get them to hide. What are you so happy about?"

Chu Miao didn’t really understand her brother sometimes but she knew that he was the best brother in the world.

"Whatever. We’ll kill them all next time. You just have to rest now. You have worked hard."

A smile appeared on Chu Miao’s lips because she knew that amidst the jokes, her brother just cared about her too much.

"Alright, let’s go back to the sect. Some people need to heal or they will start mutating within no time." Chu Miao commented as she scanned the injured and even the non-injured members.

A small scratch could lead to mutation, so they couldn’t ignore those seemingly healthy members.

"Okay Princess Chu. Let’s get going." Chu Hao made a mockery of bowing to a princess as he faced Chu Miao and the girl just ignored him and waved her hand.

Everyone was teleported away instantly.

As soon as they appeared inside the perimeter of the sect, Dotty walked over to Chu Miao and bowed.

" I am sorry, Sect Master."

Chu Miao couldn’t understand what this girl was apologizing for.

"For what?" She had done everything right and even risked destabilizing her foundation to overdraw power and protect her peers. So, what had she done wrong?

"I shouldn’t have contradicted you about Lauda’s punishment earlier.

With today’s ambush, I now understand the importance of accurate information.

If we knew about the strength of the zombies here, those injured teammates might have avoided the injuries." Dotty explained and I was surprised that she was so accepting of her mistakes.

But that was a good thing. She is honest and cultivating her wouldn’t be wrong.

Chu Miao observed the girl who was a couple years older than her and nodded.

"Understanding through experience lasts longer than lectures."

Dotty bowed her head slightly in respect.

Chu Hao glanced between them and muttered, "Good. Now no more dramatic speeches during meetings."

Dotty smiled shyly and Chu Miao looked between her brother and the girl and couldn’t help but wonder.

"Alright, I’ll go take a shower first. Big brother, could you please take those injured to mother for treatment?" Chu Miao said before walking towards their building.

"Hey, Bunny. Why don’t you do it yourself? I want to go take a shower too." Chu Hao shouted towards his sister’s back.

Chu Miao just waved her hand in the air and said triumphantly, "Because I am the sect master."

After saying that, she ran inside the building as if escaping but she could still hear her brother complaining behind her.

The newer people in the sect who didn’t know how close the siblings’ relationship was wondered if they would fall out, while those used to their antics laughed at Chu Hao for getting one-uped again.

The atmosphere in the sect was cheerful. Nothing like the apocalypse other people were experiencing outside.

After taking a shower, Chu Miao called for another emergency meeting.

"The zombies have become too smart. Smarter than even some humans. So, we need to speed up our plans. The zombies now know how to ambush, strategize, and retreat when they can’t win. We can’t let them become more intelligent than they already are, otherwise, disaster will befall mankind." Chu Miao went on to explain what she had seen that day and this surprised everyone in the meeting room.

Professor Wu cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention.

"From the experimental samples we have used, I have noticed a certain component in the zombie virus. It is higher in zombies that are more evolved or intelligent than others. Even the little maggots Little Miao brought to us months ago, the component is higher in the maggots that had evolved and even had wings compared to the smaller ones that had just changed size."

"Yes, that is true. At first we wondered why there was such a huge difference in this compound but now we can draw conclusions. That component is responsible for the evolution of zombies and the higher the levels of that component, the more advanced a zombie is." Professor Tang also supported his companion’s statement.

"So, what do you suggest we do?" Grandpa Chu asked seriously because with the population of zombies being 80% larger than humans, if no countermeasures were taken, earth would soon be completely overrun by zombies.

"There is a chemical I created that I have been testing. It has a 70% potential of weakening this component in the zombie virus. If we could have all the zombies taking it, then our zombie problem would be half solved." Professor Wu stated.

"Are you kidding me? You want zombies to take some medicine or chemical you made? How are you going to feed it to them?" Someone asked impatiently.

"I don’t know. Otherwise, would I still be stuck at this stage?" Professor Wu asked angrily.

"Is it possible to turn the chemical into gas?" Mu Nan, who had joined the meeting and looked nothing like the emaciated and dying youth Chu Miao saved, spoke.

"Of course, it is in liquid form and turning it into gas isn’t a problem. With the many research materials we have received over the last year, we cannot definitely turn that chemical into gas in no time." Professor Tang replied this time, but still couldn’t understand why the chemical had to be turned into gas.

"Then go ahead and turn it into gas. Didn’t the sect leader say that they will fly to different countries and continents to save more people from different races? If in every country they go to, they set off the gas in the air, won’t most of the zombies absorb it and thus, nullify the effects of that component?" Mu Nan explained his reasoning and everyone cheered.

Indeed, why hadn’t they thought of that?
