Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Going Back

As soon as they heard about asking for fruits and vegetables, the new members were shocked. This wasn’t just a surprise, it was a shock.

It had been at least a month and a half since the apocalypse began and those who had vegetables and fruits in their houses had long exhausted them.

Even the frozen ones were gone. Right now, anyone who wanted vegetables, fruits, or even meat could only be content with rumors of the said food stuff. Seeing the real deal was as difficult as ascending to heaven.

Yet, here was their leader telling them to ask for any of those things if they needed them. They started feeling like they had walked to paradise indeed.

How could there be such a good leader? After their shock, they became overjoyed. They had really made the best choice of their lives when they decided to follow them.

"Okay Miss Chu, we will do as you say." Yang Leo was the first to regain his composure and reply to Chu Miao.

With every passing minute, he thanked his lucky stars for helping take up the courage to ask to join them.

"Big brother, let’s take these freezers as they are. That way, the quality of the meat won’t be affected if power is disconnected for a while.

Yang Leo, you understand physics, right? Help my brother disconnect the power from these and dismount anything that is attached to the wall or floor.

We need to leave this place as soon as possible." Chu Miao gave instructions as he moved to the side to give the two space to work.

In order to avoid affecting the meat, the freezers would be kept in the warehouse in her soul ring. But she didn’t need to touch it to keep it inside.

Just attaching her spiritual power was enough. Chu Hao just needed to touch them and make it look like he was the one storing them away.

Once they heard their tasks, Yang Leo and Chu Hao didn’t waste a second and started to move.

As he worked with Yang Leo, Chu Hao, still curious about his sister’s sense of urgency asked, "Bunny, why the hurry when you weren’t like this when we came? Are we not checking out other buildings?"

The others except for Ye Xuan were astonished when they heard the nickname. How could she be called Bunny, there was nothing as docile as a rabbit about her. She was cute, yes, but cuteness couldn’t be associated with her when she killed people.

Chu Miao didn’t care about how her brother addressed her. She had been called by that name since she was born. Therefore, it didn’t matter what he called her.

"I feel that something about the quietness and absence of zombies here isn’t normal. Something is definitely wrong. It’s better to leave now instead of waiting until whatever is in the dark takes action." She replied as she watched the two disconnect the freezers.

The others were dumbfounded upon hearing her analysis. Indeed, this was a peculiarity they had ignored. How could there be no zombies in such a large building? It couldn’t be that all the humans managed to escape and none of them turned into zombies.

Therefore, there was definitely something wrong with this situation.

Thinking of this, Yang Leo and Chu Hao worked faster and in no time removed whatever could be removed.

With a look from Chu Hao, Chu Miao understood that it was time to store those two freezers. She moved her hand a little and the first freezer disappeared. With another move of the hand as Chu Hao placed a hand on the second freezer, it also disappeared.

Chu Hao put away the power system and anything he deemed useful.

"Okay, let’s go. I’ll put some supplies on the two boats to prevent unnecessary scrutiny from other people." He said as he walked out first.

The others followed behind him as Chu Miao and Ye Xuan brought the rear. Since she realized that something was wrong, she had not relaxed her vigilance.

She still remembered the level two zombie that had given their group a hard time before their strength advanced.

At that time, the zombie had laid in wait and had she and Ye Xuan not sensed its presence after walking into the supermarket, something bad could have happened.

Luckily, she was now stronger and could even teleport everyone out of here if something unexpected happened. However, that didn’t mean that she could become complacent. The lives of her teammates weren’t a joke.

After leaving the building through the same window they broke through to come in, Chu Hao brought out the two boats from before and placed them in the water outside.

He also filled the boats with different supplies and brought out plastic covers the size of tents.

"Brother Leo, brother Lu, come down and help me cover these things. We don’t want the rain water soaking everything through." He could actually have done it alone, but he didn’t want these people to feel useless and start having other thoughts.

If they were given something to help with, even if it is insignificant, they would definitely feel useful and needed. This could make them become more loyal to their team.

After covering the supplies, the few people boarded the boats the same way they came. Chu Hao, Zhao Lu, and Chichi were in the same boat while Chu Miao and Ye Xuan’s boat was driven by Yang Leo.

Chu Miao scanned the surroundings before giving the order to leave. After killing those huge and mutated fish that had surrounded them on the way to the street shops, now there weren’t many.

Only a few scattered ones remained and they seemed to have some level of intelligence. They stayed away and even after smelling the tantalizing scent of the vibrant vitality in those two boats, none came forward to attack them.

This surprised Chu Miao very much. The fish weren’t even acting like low-level demon beasts. They seemed to be smarter than level one demon beasts.

Could they have mutated so much?
