Apocalypse Lord-Chapter 60 - 58: What Is the Price?
Seagull Town, Lord’s manor.
The ’Black-winged Calamity Master’ that makes sailors shudder, was now sitting lazily at the dining table, flicking its thick tail.
Today’s lunch was fresh fish mushroom soup, and little Lisa sat beside Lin Lan, eating happily.
Eleanor smiled as she watched the little maid with pointed ears, gently rearranging her collar with the tip of her tail.
This fellow has fully adapted to the environment of the territory; even these fresh ingredients were personally caught by her for Lisa from the sea.
"You seem to really like little Lisa."
Lin Lan put a piece of fish into his mouth, he also benefited from it. Recently, Lin Lan had eaten so many biscuits that his mouth was almost bland.
"Doragon people have always gotten along well with witches."
Eleanor spoke lazily, resting her cheek on her palm, "We naturally dislike the land, witches naturally love exploring and sailing. If it weren’t for those hateful Alliance people recruiting the witches first, we would have fiercely united with them long ago!"
Lin Lan: ...
With such wording, no wonder people are wary of your dangerous group.
"But honestly, your territory is really poor, can’t even find a good bottle of wine."
Eleanor chewed fish bones with her sharp teeth, asking, "Do you plan to start from scratch and establish a brand new kingdom and regime?"
"I haven’t thought that far yet."
Lin Lan shook his head, glancing out the window, "I’m just trying to help people survive as much as I can."
His gaze was slightly cold, "In the process, I will also clean up the filth on the earth’s surface."
"Got it, you plan to establish a clean refuge first, right."
Eleanor lazily lay on the table, "I fully support you. Doragon people really need a stable place to settle..."
"Ah~ no weight, no need to worry about disgusting celestial calamities appearing anytime, I can finally sleep soundly~"
She comfortably squinted her eyes, "If other Doragon people knew there was such a good place, they should be willing to stay here."
"Can you help me find them?"
Lin Lan’s eyes lit up upon hearing this.
"Too difficult, I advise you not to have high hopes." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Eleanor yawned deeply, "Some Doragon people will never approach the land, the few I know are all solitary, each one is more eccentric and peculiar."
"The last time I saw a fellow, she is currently wandering in the ruins of ancient civilization, she is passionate about collecting all the knowledge in the world, and has built a mobile library in the deepest part of Sky Sea."
"That guy is best at pretending to be supernatural, she often plays the ’Ancient Civilization Prophet’ to fool adventure fleets that encounter the library."
She curled her lips, "If she, like me, liked robbing blind pirate children, then the so-called ’King of Pirates’ would probably not be single digits."
Lin Lan mused.
Just as he planned to continue exploring rumors about Giant Dragons, in a blink, the well-fed Dragon Lady had already started snoring, sprawling on the table surface, hugging her tail with a relaxing aura all over her body.
"Don’t suddenly sleep on the table!"
Lin Lan shouted with wide eyes, but the Dragon Lady just hummed twice, sleeping even sweeter.
Haki Long, you guy...
Lin Lan looked helplessly, observing Eleanor’s face.
Her face is actually quite delicate and pretty, with a high ponytail of black-haired beauty paired with that dark coat outfit, indeed exuding a unique fierce charm.
As long as she doesn’t open her mouth with that rogue style of talking.
The lunch ended accordingly, little Lisa rubbed her belly, and began actively cleaning up the dining table.
The little maid worked very seriously, gathering plates and wiping the table. She even tiptoed to help Eleanor wipe the drool from the corner of her mouth.
"Being a maid is quite hard, isn’t it."
Lin Lan patted her head, "Do you want to continue being a maid?"
Lisa replied without hesitation, crisply, "I want to!"
"Why is that?"
Lin Lan smiled, "I remember Wendy also arranged a study plan for you?"
"Little Lisa is not afraid of hardship."
Lisa thought for a moment, and seriously said, "The maids who come from afar are always afraid of being abandoned, only when staying with little Lisa do they not feel scared."
She raised her small fist, "I will gradually tell them that Lord Roland is different from those bad people!"
Lin Lan’s eyes softened.
"Cheer up," he said.
"Cheer up!" The little maid returned a big smile, carrying the plates out of the room with effort.
Watching little Lisa’s back, Lin Lan’s mood inexplicably calmed down.
Maybe what he wants to protect is something straightforward and simple.
Everyone is making efforts for tomorrow, and he naturally cannot slacken. Lin Lan left the dining room, incidentally arranged Bai to throw the Dragon Lady into the bedroom.
The underground chamber of the manor was brightly lit.
Lin Lan had already showcased the Ideal City items he collected to two senior students from the Alliance.
He pushed the door open, seeing Lucia standing on the support rack being helped by Wendy, the Blond Witch holding dried fish in her mouth, was moving the air conditioning unit overhead.
Lin Lan looked on with surprise.
This air conditioner he normally placed casually in the corner, anyway, just insert a battery to cool and heat.
And now, the Blond Witch had added a simple buckle and integration device behind the roof and the all-in-one air conditioner.
That device looked like it was hand-crafted using discarded parts.
"Let’s just fix it here..."
Lucia swallowed the dried fish in two or three bites, "Wendy junior, pass me the wrench! I’ll secure the casing around the air conditioner..."
The two seemed to get along quite well.
Lin Lan just watched them busy.
A moment later, Lucia wiped the sweat beads and noticed the figure of the gray-haired boy.
"You’re here, Lord Roland."
She sat on the stand, proudly swinging her smooth small legs, "I helped you reconfigure the paths for ventilation and drainage pipes; by the way, I also repaired the water heater and air conditioner."
"You even know how to do these?" Lin Lan’s tone was surprised.
Master, what was your previous job?
"Hahahaha~ There’s never a shortage of such ’little trinkets’ on the Black Wing."
Lucia crossed her arms, exuding the aura of a strong person, "I’ve seen plenty of Deep Sea Treasures from across the stars, don’t underestimate me!"
"Lucia senior sister is amazing," Wendy softly opened her mouth.
"Truly incredible," Lin Lan gave genuine praise.
"Hehehe, actually I haven’t seen so many ancient civilization materials either, and junior sister really put in a lot of effort..."
Lucia blushing from the compliment, jumped off the rack with sparkling eyes, "Did you pillage the starry layer, Roland?"
"Don’t say that, what do you mean ’pillage’? These materials were fought for bit by bit by Bai and me."
Lin Lan smiled, "Next, there are even more wondrous things waiting for you, Lucia."
"Even more wondrous things?"
Lucia perked up her ears, Lord Roland’s words were stimulating her nature of craving the unknown.
"Do you want to witness more exaggerated technology? Then explore with me everything buried by the starry sky?"
The gray-haired boy’s whispered words were like a devil’s temptation.
His smile became even more elusive, "Do you want to learn about the past of Doragon people and witches, do you want to know the secrets from the depths of the sun?"
Lucia’s gaze drifted, looking at that handsome face, subconsciously swallowed.
"And what is the price of all this, Roland?" The Blond Witch’s reason tried to make a final struggle.
At this moment, Lin Lan collected his smile.
"The price is the truth itself."
He sighed softly, "You will break away from dreams, facing the most cruel and despairing end."
