Apocalypse Lord-Chapter 55 - 53: Black-winged Calamity Master
Lin Lan still remembers the Red Dragon that was annihilated in the Elf homeland.
The old Historian bore the heavy burden of history alone, facing death with composure, and even in his final moments, he had enough strength to joke with himself.
The physical characteristics of the black-haired woman in front of him were exactly like that of the Red Dragon.
Next, he noticed the petite Elf hiding behind the Dragon Girl, her noticeable long ears trembling violently in the wind.
She was baring her teeth alongside her companion, looking utterly frightened...
"Who are you?"
Lin Lan stepped forward and asked sternly, "Why did you intrude into my territory?"
At the same time, Lucia and Eleanor also got a clear view of the local Lord’s appearance.
It was him!
The person revealed within the cherished pocket watch ’Angel’s Right Eye’!
They indeed found the right person, but this guy’s terrifying nature exceeded their expectations, as he actually set a trap targeting the Doragon People!
What exactly did he want to do?
In panic, Lucia stood up, pointed her long ears at the young Lord, and focused her mind to start listening.
"First Mate, don’t listen to his thoughts..." Eleanor immediately gave a weak warning.
The Witch’s ability to ’listen to thoughts’ was quite useful, often allowing them to read the images and ideas within the other’s mind, but this ability could also invite disaster and hostility.
However, the reminder was already too late.
The chaotic abstract fragments instantly flooded into Lucia’s mind!
The end of a world tearing apart, a kaleidoscope of fluttering insects, the sky-covering white wings, and those abstract symbols radiating endless light and heat...
Each scattered image was a violent blow to the mental plane, and the intense dizziness instantly overwhelmed the Witch’s consciousness.
Lin Lan frowned.
From his perspective, the short Elf stared at him resolutely, then rolled her eyes and fell asleep with a thud.
Performing some kind of performance art here?
At that moment, he heard the black-haired woman lying on the ground let out a bitter laugh.
"Friend, it’s all a misunderstanding; we surrender..."
She struggled to raise her face, grinning, her magnetic voice resonating around: "This was just a self-preservation act; we meant no harm..."
No one liked having their thoughts read by a Witch, as this behavior was undoubtedly provocative and offensive.
In fact, these two indeed had no malicious intent.
Eleanor was solely focused on retrieving the Empire cargo ship ’Plumbum White’ that had fallen into the starry layer.
And her ’good’ First Mate had contributed a ’good’ idea.
Hey!
Since someone has the ability to enter the starry layer, why not ask for their help, or simply recruit them?
She really did believe the foolish Witch Lucia!
Eleanor sighed inwardly.
The two sailed in the direction guided by the pocket watch, only to encounter the collapsing Celestial Calamity that the Doragon People feared most.
The ship was already damaged at the seabed not far from the shore, and to make matters worse, the ’weight’ of this cursed place was beyond imagination!
Now she was just a fish ready to be filleted...
The other side seemed not to recognize her; she needed to maintain her composure.
"My name is Noli, just an... ordinary navigator, and this foolish Witch is my companion Luya."
She endured the omnipresent pressure and proactively explained: "We didn’t mean to trespass into your territory, we just came across some minor mishap on the navigational route, hence drifting onto your land..." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Lin Lan nodded.
Without wasting words, he turned and instructed the bionic girl: "Bai, take them back to the manor first."
The girl stepped forward, hoisting the large-sized Dragon Girl onto her shoulder with one hand, and tucking the petite Witch, like a dead fish, under her arm with the other; the entire motion was fluid.
It was obvious she had not been idle in handling cargo.
Eleanor struggled instinctively, but feeling the immense strength from her waist, she went limp again.
·
After returning to the manor, Lin Lan quickly gathered his two henchmen.
"Sir, why did you summon me?" Ed arrived hurriedly, his expression as serious as ever.
"The Civilian Corps captured two navigators by the shore, but I’m not sure of their backgrounds, so I want your input."
Lin Lan looked at Ed and Wendy, pointed towards the room connected to the living room: "They’re ’resting’ in that room."
"Navigators?"
Ed showed a puzzled expression, then he and Wendy went to the door and slowly opened it.
The two navigators were separately placed in the corners of the room, already wrapped tightly like rice dumplings, even the black-haired woman’s pointed tail was wrapped in thick fabric...
At that moment, Wendy let out a scream of disbelief.
Ed stared at the black-haired woman’s face, dazed for a long while.
Bam!
Ed suddenly shut the door forcefully, cold sweat instantly appeared on his forehead, and his lips began to quiver.
"Do you recognize them?"
Lin Lan raised an eyebrow, his gaze shifting between the two; it was the first time he’d seen Alliance officers so flustered.
Wendy tightly pursed her lips as if lost in memories.
Ed slowly turned his head, looked at Lin Lan, with an extremely peculiar expression, as if peering at an unfathomable figure.
"How did you capture the infamous Doragon person, Sir?!"
His tone changed: "That’s Eleanor, one of the seven kings of Chaos Pirates, the ’Black-winged Calamity Master’!!"
Once that legendary Chaos Pirate recovers, she could easily destroy this town at any moment!
Lin Lan stood respectfully.
Well then, such an influential person? Yet she seemed rather polite?
He reflected on the Dragon Girl’s behavior post-capture and focused on ’Doragon People’ as mentioned by Ed.
The way people referred to Giant Dragons seemed to have changed...
"Calm down, Ed, let’s set her identity aside for now."
Lin Lan remained contemplative, his tone still steady and calm: "Could you give me a detailed introduction about the ’Doragon’ race?"
Ed felt his mind tangled, gradually calming down again.
Indeed, he almost forgot, their Lord was also of notable background, able to devour curses...
"Doragon People are the most dangerous and fierce race in the endless sea, Sir."
He steadied his tone, narrating: "This race never joins any faction; they spend their entire lives roaming the sea."
Ed added: "Although Chaos Pirates may not necessarily be Doragon people, Doragon people are definitely Chaos Pirates!"
"Why?" Lin Lan’s curiosity surfaced.
"Because Doragon people are extremely averse to land; they experience a ’weight’ that ordinary people cannot feel when on land."
Ed answered: "This weight keeps pressing on them, and the more prosperous the towns on land, the heavier and more unbearable the weight becomes."
This race always travels alone, not fearing most disasters at sea; regarded with caution by both the Alliance and the Empire.
Ed glanced at the room: "Moreover, Sir, according to Alliance scholars’ conjectures..."
The Alliance officer spoke in a low voice: "Doragon people themselves are the source of the disaster ’collapsing Celestial Calamity,’ therefore many high-ranking officials offer high bounties for Doragon people’s heads."
They are inherently people exiled by civilization.
