Gift!

The massive Hyperion directional constraint cannon descended from the Black Star Furnace. This orbital weapon was brought out for the first time by Lin Xian after acquiring it from Mochizuki Shinji. The purpose was the same as what Mochizuki Shinji intended when preparing to detonate the Floating Tower in White City...

Buzz, buzz, buzz!

The dome’s rocky walls suddenly peeled away, and hundreds of thousands of black worm-snakes twisted into a gigantic drill, crashing down like a serpent’s body. KIKI immediately unleashed a telekinetic storm with both palms. The front of the worm drill exploded on impact, but the dispersed swarm instantly spat out a silver-green silk net, enveloping the two of them.

This time, KIKI realized the power of those silk threads and dared not confront them head-on. Instead, she raised her hand and fiercely tore a huge section of rock from the geothermal well’s wall to their current position. The spraying silk threads instantly melted a hollow in the boulder, with dust and powder spraying outward.

Meanwhile, on Viola’s side, thousands of drones swarmed like flying insects, agilely maneuvering above the geothermal well. Violent laser beams and high-energy collisions combined to mercilessly strangle the worm-snakes.

“Lin Xian!”

“All done.”

Lin Xian manipulated his mechanical arm to embed cooling fins onto the reactor’s outer shell. The thousand-ton metal structure floated over the boiling magma pool, wrapped in KIKI’s telekinetic field. He then smashed the chain reaction module into the reactor core before fixing the massive Hyperion directional constraint cannon above the reactor, forming a makeshift reactor-trigger device.

[Warning: Enemy creature energy emissions cause severe damage to the environment and metal equipment, with a wide coverage area. To ensure the plan’s success, the device’s safety must be guaranteed.]

Viola reminded them.

“Of course! We’ll lure it away!” Lin Xian controlled the mechanical arm to clamp the reactor onto the geothermal core device’s cruciform base, then immediately called KIKI. Her leg thrusters overloaded and ignited without hesitation, retreating toward the passageway’s direction.

At this moment, the dome-covered black worm-snakes began rampaging wildly toward Lin Xian and KIKI. From afar, it looked like a moving black water mass, rapidly twisting and dragging the entire wall’s swarm together, forming a sky-covering onslaught.

Viola covered their rear, thousands of drones acting like living beings, simultaneously shielding and counterattacking. Under Viola’s exceptional computing power, the drones appeared to have individual consciousness, capable of monitoring hundreds of thousands of targets and dispersing to defend. This alone was something Lin Xian couldn’t achieve yet but was exactly the effect he wanted to create with a drone army.

[Upper-level sensors detected a massive biological approach. Estimated contact in 4 minutes.]

Before they could escape the pursuing black insects, Viola transmitted even more desperate news. Lin Xian clenched his teeth, pointed, and blasted open the half-collapsed passage with the kinetic cannon. KIKI then expanded her telekinetic shield, and the two dashed straight through.

Boom! Boom!

At the deepwater port, waves rippled violently.

The Infinite train and the Abyssal nuclear submarine floated semi-submerged in the ink-black sea. Strange phosphorescent creatures drifted outside the portholes. Chen Sixuan stood in the Infinite’s car number two, her expression grim as she monitored the train’s sentinel system. Inside the submarine’s command cabin, Laine stared at a giant red dot flashing directly beneath him on the radar screen. His hand remained poised over the headset button, while the other crew held their breath in tense silence. Their hearts seemed audible in the stillness.

“Lin Xian... Lin Xian...” Chen Sixuan kept trying to contact him.

“The geothermal well’s signals are heavily disrupted.” Ning Jing’s voice came from car five, where she was monitoring with Daluo and others. “I suggest we hold still for now.”

“That thing is just above the water. Judging by what it is...” Cai En, inside the submarine, sounded troubled.

“Most likely below A-rank or special-level. The spirit value detector has picked up very low dark energy fluctuations.” Erica from the Falcon Sea Group said.

Geddy added, “Looks like it hasn’t detected you yet. Worst case, you’ll have to take the initiative. If it tags you, that’s trouble.”

“It’s the tagging that’s the problem now.” Monica leaned over in the Limited train’s cockpit, staring out the stardust-speckled porthole at the white water. A strange white-and-silver tentacle swiftly slid across the surface. She said sternly, “That thing is blocking your ascent route.”

Upon hearing this, the core members on the comm channel all held their breath.

Peng Shanming spoke urgently: “Monica, Laine, the little group is ready to act. You only have one path left!”

The Limited train hadn’t yet retracted its deep dive module. All onboard weapons were operational. To deal with trouble, only ability users could act.

Just as everyone was slightly relieved, a violent explosion erupted from the lower level, followed by fierce boiling on the water’s surface at the deepwater port. The surface monster seemed to have locked onto something. The dark sea water suddenly froze, the hovering phosphorescent microorganisms collectively extinguished, and the submarine’s sonar screen exploded with blood-red ripples. Falcon Sea Group and the Limited train team simultaneously heard internal alarms blaring!

“It’s here!”

Boom!!

Between the Infinite and the submarine, the water surface suddenly bulged. Then a gelatinous tentacle over thirty meters in diameter, carrying the immense power of a giant beast, shockingly broke the water. Thousands of tons of seawater slammed onto the submarine’s pressure hull. The vessel shifted sideways like a toy, crashing into the rock wall. The titanium alloy hull emitted an ear-piercing groan.

Almost simultaneously, five pale, bone-spiked arms wrapped around the Infinite’s third carriage, pushing the train entirely out of the water.

“Attack!”

Before the monster fully emerged and revealed its form, both sides responded immediately. Above the submarine, a flash of cold air streaked. The entire deepwater port’s churning water suddenly froze, shattered upon the monster’s charge, then froze again, breaking into massive chunks of ice.

On Infinite’s side, Ryunosuke flew out of the hatch, striking the arms clutching the train and breaking them with telekinetic waves, protecting both the train and the submarine. At the same time, three figures appeared atop the pressure hull: Fire Bro, Monica, and A Bai, three ability users specializing in wide-range attacks. Their flaming sword, concentrated laser beams, and invisible sonic roar swords were the first to strike.

Beautiful!

The lights of the gantry crane above the deepwater port flickered uncertainly. The entire cavern was illuminated by fire and laser light. The monster breaking through the water showed only part of its torso. Its enormous form squeezed between the Infinite and the submarine. It was a deformed creature seemingly fused from a whale skull and a deep-sea worm. Millions of compound eyes rolled within the skull’s cracks. Its open mouth was layered with six rows of spiral teeth, emitting a low-frequency soul-drawing hum.

Fire Bro and the others’ attacks instantly struck its body. The creature’s biological force field shattered. The whale skull burst open a huge hole, spraying copious amounts of black blood. What surfaced appeared to be just part of its torso. After the attack, it shuddered violently and started frantically ramming toward the upper passage.

“Trying to run?!” Fire Bro swung his sword, preparing to finish it off.

Monica’s gaze changed sharply. She immediately said, “Its target isn’t us. It’s above!”

“Lin Xian?” Chen Sixuan caught on and was about to say something when Lin Xian’s voice finally came over the comms.

“Dive, dive!”

Boom, boom, boom! Before Lin Xian’s voice finished, the entire submarine base started shaking violently. The water surface rippled, the earth trembled and mountains shook, rocks and walls continuously collapsing. The upper level began to cave in completely.

“Lin Xian’s been tagged! Quickly, control it!”

Realizing this, Monica quickly checked her own tag status. Seeing no alert, she called out to Ryunosuke directly.

At that moment, the upper structure exploded violently. The strange monster bursting out of the water crazily clawed upward. Its hundreds-of-meters-long black-and-white body almost covered the entire cavern space of the submarine deepwater port in the lights. Its glossy skin sent chills down the spine.

Ryunosuke was first to fly out, arms spread wide, putting all his strength into trying to control the beast. Simultaneously, from the smoke above, a blinding high-temperature beam suddenly erupted, accompanied by violent energy waves that steamed the air. The beam pierced a massive blood hole straight through the creature’s skull.

Then, amid gray-black smoke, Lin Xian and KIKI shot out from the blood hole. Behind them followed Viola and the dwindling swarm of drones, now less than half their original number.

“Lin Xian, what happened?”

“No time to explain.” Seeing Fire Bro and A Bai ready to attack, Lin Xian flew straight onto the Infinite. “Get on! We’re diving.”

“That monster?” Fire Bro was surprised. The giant beast still writhed, clearly not dead.

“Forget it!” KIKI shouted, “This place is about to explode. No time!”

Before KIKI finished, Monica pulled A Bai quickly after Lin Xian into the inner cabin. Fire Bro looked down at the churning black water below, his expression darkening. He swallowed hard and hurriedly followed Ryunosuke inside.

The deep dive outer hatch closed, and the inner cabin began pressurizing. Back on Infinite, Lin Xian immediately instructed Viola.

“Pressurize! Dive quickly!”

“Laine, you follow behind.”

“Understood.” Laine promptly ordered his team, “Bow 15 degrees, main ballast tanks flooding!” Boom! The submarine’s hydraulic pumps emitted a heavy hum. The flood pipes bulged instantly, and the vessel began descending.

Meanwhile, the Infinite shattered the water surface and plunged deep. Everyone aboard felt the ground suddenly tilt, even becoming vertical. Unlike the submarine’s parallel descent, Infinite drilled downward like a black dragon. Looking out the porthole, they were immediately submerged in black water. The pressure hull emitted metallic groans as the thrusters roared, churning the broken limbs of the monster like mud as they sped downward.

Boom!!

Almost a second after both vehicles entered the water, the entire submarine base’s cavern collapsed with a thunderous roar. Huge rocks fell. The writhing black-and-white sea monster tried to retreat underwater, but its shattered skull was crushed under the falling boulders. The original upper passage was flooded with black water-like worm-snakes chasing Lin Xian, also buried under the rocks and bubbling magma overflow!

Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle!

Under the suffocating deepwater port, what was once a broad waterway was now only a narrow passage as sonar and scanning systems revealed. Lin Xian entered car two and glanced out the porthole. Outside was a massive black-and-white striped sea monster’s torso, tens of meters wide, hanging straight down into the abyss, seemingly endless and hair-raising.

“That thing tunneled through the deepwater port’s channel. Damn, what a huge sea snake!”

KIKI’s teeth itched as she stared at the flickering stripes outside. Anyone seeing it would shudder involuntarily.

“It’s still moving, trying to turn back and attack. Now, the sea creatures from the ocean and the island are probably gathering here.” Lin Xian said immediately.

KIKI responded, “600 meters until we exit the cliff channel into the deep sea. That thing is blocking us here. I estimate the area outside the channel is already crawling with sea monsters waiting for us.”

“Lin Xian, how much time do we have left?” Chen Sixuan, seeing Lin Xian’s tagged state, guessed he must be in critical danger and going underwater despite the tag.

Lin Xian gasped for breath, turned to Chen Sixuan, Monica, and Fire Bro, and said gravely, 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

“Seventeen seconds.”

At these words, everyone’s pupils jolted!

Lin Xian said no more. Grabbing the handrail of the inverted passage, he used the power armor’s thrusters to speed toward car three. Inside, it had become a sea of vines. Countless green tendrils, like tentacles, tightly gripped the fallen instruments, incubation pods, and equipment to prevent them from falling.

Ding Junyi stood vertically on the “ground,” her expression calm. Behind her, countless vines extended, protecting Xiao Yuan, Miao Lu, and several disaster plants including the Hellish Black Chrysanthemum. The scene looked eerily surreal.

“Captain Lin!” Xiao Yuan exclaimed seeing Lin Xian enter.

Miao Lu gripped the vines and hurriedly said, “Almost there.”

“How much more?”

Lin Xian immediately looked at Ding Junyi. She looked pale, her eyes flashing wildly with ability light. Dozens of blood crystals had already turned to sand, with only a few level-three blood crystals still connected.

Beep, beep, beep.

Lin Xian’s watch alarm started ringing. Night was falling.

But darkness was no longer the biggest problem. He carried a level-four tag. The geothermal well’s detonation device was about to explode. Infinite was soon entering the deep-sea cliff. Lin Xian had to use the Silver Dragon Ten Thousand Mistakes at the exact moment the explosion went off and the black insects were wiped out, to instantly disappear before the deep-sea monsters, giving him a chance to enter stealth mode.

Even if successful, avoiding the tag’s pursuit would only mean passing the first layer of the ghost gate.

Buzz, buzz, buzz. Inside Infinite’s carriage, as the train tilted steeply and dived downward, many items fell. Despite some preparation, many people still scrambled nervously.

The people in car two were fine, as KIKI stabilized them with telekinesis. In car five, Daluo used her body to brace the equipment racks. At the same time, she shielded Sun Yuzhen and Mo Xiaotian, who were huddled in a corridor corner. Shu Qin, Luo Yang, and Vanessa protected ordinary team members from behind.

The Limited train was now diving deeper—300 meters, 500 meters, 700 meters. As the water pressure changed, the cabin’s internal pressure adjusted slowly. The oxygen system operated while Viola monitored the train’s status and reported to telekinetic control at any time.

Fifteen seconds, fourteen seconds...

At that moment, Peng Shanming, whose ability surged wildly, urgently turned toward telekinetic control and shouted fiercely,

“Flowers bloom immediately, but that time... it was just a bud.”
