Apocalypse: I Built the Infinite Train-Chapter 137: Flaming Squid
BWOOOOOOM!!!
The Sky Jellyfish let out a deep, thunderous roar.
Its massive, transparent bell rippled violently, sending out shockwaves that shattered skyscraper windows and rattled the very bones of everyone in the convoy. A palpable sense of dread filled the air, as if a colossal nightmare had descended upon them.
"Keep moving! Don’t slow down! Watch the track pylons and stay in formation! Everyone else—light that bastard up!"
Xu Jin’s voice roared through the radio.
Onboard the heavy trucks, the Gatling guns swiveled, locking onto the monstrosity above.
BRRRRRRRRT!!!
A hailstorm of bullets erupted into the sky, as the convoy’s armed survivors leaned out their windows, unloading their magazines into the behemoth.
"IT’S COMING DOWN!"
On Car No. 7 of the Infinite Train, Shasha clutched her radio, screaming.
Above, the sky darkened. The Sky Jellyfish’s massive silhouette loomed over the convoy, its countless tentacles stretching down toward the railway tracks.
CRASH!
A stray off-road vehicle was snatched into the air, flung violently into a wall, and plunged off the highway, taking dozens of zombies down with it.
"AAAHHHH!"
Inside the wrecked vehicle, a woman struggled to crawl out the shattered window, screaming for help.
But before she could escape—
The horde consumed her.
Her desperate, outstretched hand disappeared into the sea of undead, her screams drowning beneath the chaos.
"ANKE! XIAOWEI!"
Shu Qin’s shout cracked with rage and sorrow.
Her eyes reddened, and with a snarl, she slammed the accelerator.
"You goddamn bastards, FOCUS!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
As the Sky Jellyfish drifted over the convoy, bullets shredded its lower tendrils, sending grayish-white chunks and viscous fluid raining down.
Like a sickening downpour, the acidic slime splattered onto vehicles and people alike.

SIZZLE! SCREAMS!
Flesh burned, limbs melted, and the convoy nearly collapsed into chaos.
18:45 PM – Darkness Fell
The dense fog thickened, and night swallowed the city whole.
Every vehicle’s headlights blazed to life, cutting through the inky void.
"Lin Xian! There’s ANOTHER ONE ahead!"
KIKI’s urgent voice rang through the radio.
Lin Xian’s eyes darted forward—
A second, even larger Sky Jellyfish emerged over the city skyline, drifting from behind a skyscraper.
"We’re screwed if this keeps up!"
Lin Xian grimaced.
"KIKI, grab the fire-throwing idiot and bring him to me!"
"On it!"
Meanwhile, Lu Xingchen sat motionless, still staring blankly into space.
"My car… my car… my car…"
KIKI stormed up to him, glaring.
"Are you serious right now?! The world’s about to end, and you’re STILL whining about your RV?!"
Lu Xingchen lifted his head, eyes hollow.
"You don’t understand… That RV was my partner… my sanctuary… my only solace in this forsaken world…"
KIKI’s eye twitches violently.
She resisted the urge to punch him, took a deep breath, and snapped:
"Fine. Help me kill that damn jellyfish, and I’ll make Lin Xian give you your own custom train car. You can decorate it however the hell you want. Deal?"
WHOOSH!
In an instant, Lu Xingchen stood up, his demeanor flipping entirely.
His chest puffed out, his gaze sharpened, and he nodded solemnly.
"Time is of the essence. Let’s go."
KIKI: "..."
The hell did I just witness?!
Before he could dramatically monologue, KIKI simply snapped her fingers—
And with her telekinesis, she yanked his ear, dragging him straight to the driver’s cabin.
"Lin Xian, I got him!"
Lin Xian glanced at Lu Xingchen, eyes narrowing.
"Can you fight?"
Lu Xingchen opened his mouth to complain—then caught sight of the enormous, eldritch monstrosity in the sky.
His expression hardened.
"I can."
"Good."
Lin Xian turned to KIKI.
"Gather every drum of gasoline we have and get ready to launch them."
"Got it!"
Before Lu Xingchen could question why Lin Xian called the Sky Jellyfish a "squid," KIKI had already bolted toward the cargo hold.
Setting the Trap
Lin Xian kicked open the driver’s cabin door, conjuring a steel staircase leading to the train roof.
Lu Xingchen, impressed by the seamless mechanical creation, briefly paused—but quickly climbed up without hesitation.
Meanwhile, KIKI didn’t just levitate the gasoline barrels—
She stood on them, balancing in midair as they floated beside her.
Lin Xian raised an eyebrow.
"So… you CAN fly."
It made sense—she could lift an entire train, so why not herself?
KIKI, grinning, soared beside the moving train, carrying the barrels high above the tracks.
On the roof, Lu Xingchen stood firm, his hands glowing with firelight.
KIKI raised the barrels overhead.
"I’ll throw. You light it up."
"No need to remind me. Fire is an art!"
Lu Xingchen cracked his knuckles, stepping forward.
Inside the cabin, Lin Xian’s voice came over the radio.
"Old Mo, once we light that thing up, fire a few missiles to finish the job. Everyone else, keep your windows shut—we don’t want burning jellyfish guts raining down on us."
Shu Qin and Xu Jin responded immediately.
"Understood!"
Meanwhile, Old Mo was laughing through the radio:
"Hah! Fire-roasted squid?! You’ve got balls, kid!"
A series of missile launchers armed themselves.
"Alright, let’s go all in. Win or die!"
The Sky Jellyfish let out a deep, otherworldly bellow—
BWOOOOOM!!!
Its transparent bell pulsed, its massive tentacles writhing as it descended toward the train.
"NOW!"
Lin Xian shouted.
KIKI’s eyes gleamed.
Her telekinetic power surged, hurling the gasoline barrels upward—
WHOOOOOSH!
The drums shot into the sky, heading straight for the jellyfish’s core.
Lu Xingchen planted his feet, gathering all his firepower.
A massive fireball formed in his palms, flames licking across his arms.
The fire grew brighter… hotter… larger—
Until finally—
"DIVINE: FLAME EMPEROR!"
Lu Xingchen thrust his arms forward, launching the searing inferno toward the sky.
FWOOOOOM!!!
The fireball ignited the fuel mid-air, triggering a chain reaction explosion.
BOOM!!!
A towering inferno erupted, consuming the Sky Jellyfish’s entire body.
A sea of flames engulfed the monster, turning the night sky into a blazing hellscape.
The heatwave crashed down onto the convoy.
Lin Xian smirked.
"Burn, you bastard."
