Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!-Chapter 284: Three Punches, Chairman Falls!
Logan’s eyes flashed with sharp light. He used Warp Reality.
His data eyes worked at full speed, quickly analyzing the punch’s energy structure. He found three energy nodes.
He directly changed the energy flow of the punch, like untangling a ball of string. He broke each one down, and they vanished into nothing.
The golden meteor stopped just three inches in front of Logan’s face. It exploded silently.
After three punches, the Aphrodite projection was nearly gone. Her body became weak and unclear. She flickered, and her voice became distorted.
She stared at Logan in shock. "You... you learned the runes from the Yepera bones?"
Logan nodded. "I copied all 3,896 ancient runes into my Soul Sea."
The Aphrodite projection’s eyes flashed with strong struggle.
She remembered how proud she was when she broke through to 28 stars. Now, seeing Logan reach 36-star, she finally understood what real talent was—and what real loss meant.
Suddenly, she knelt and hit the ground with one knee. The sound of her knee hitting the obsidian floor was loud and deep.
As she lowered her head, a strand of hair fell over her trembling hands.
She looked up, her eyes full of mixed feelings. "Please teach me the Yepera runes, Master. I am willing to follow you, live in the Spirit Palace, and share ancient knowledge and Pinocchini information."
Logan asked: "Why? You were the first Chairman, at 35 stars. Why would you kneel to a 36-star Legend like me?"
She looked up, her eyes full of emotion. "It’s not because of you. It’s because of these 36 stars." Aphrodite smiled bitterly. "I broke through at 28 stars and thought it was honor, a sign of talent. Now I know... it was a dead end."
Logan asked: "What do you mean?"
Aphrodite explained: "The size of a person’s Soul Sea and the number of star marks decide their future power."
"Breaking into the Saint stage at 28-star means the Soul Sea is only a hundred miles wide. It can never grow bigger. A person can never reach the Demigod level. That path is over."
"But you, at 36-star, your Soul Sea is thousands of miles wide. If you keep going, your chance to become a Demigod is much higher. A Demigod is possible."
"This is a path no one in the Federation has ever taken. I want to see it. I want to use your eyes to look at that legendary Demigod level."
Old Corleone, listening in the communicator, almost dropped his cane. His face turned pale.
As a descendant of a family that once followed the First Chairman, his respect for her was deep in his bones.
"This kind of strong will... is she even a projection anymore?" he asked, voice shaking.
General Camilla frowned. "No, even the First Chairman’s projection wouldn’t have such strong awareness. Unless this is her spiritual body."
"Spiritual body?" Judge Arthur gasped. "So, the First Chairman has been staying in this altar all this time?"
The others froze when they heard Arthur’s guess.
If it’s true, the First Chairman has been alive as a spiritual body for nearly a thousand years.
In the center of the altar.
Logan thought for a moment and looked at Aphrodite again. "If your spiritual body hasn’t disappeared, why haven’t you tried to come back? You know the Federation needs you."
Aphrodite smiled. "Is the reason that hard to guess? I don’t leave because I don’t want to. The Federation needs to grow on its own. If it always stays under my protection, it will weaken over time."
Logan nodded in agreement. "You don’t want to come back? I have a way to help."
"No, my spiritual body is special. A normal body can’t hold it. I’ll just stay in the Spirit Palace."
Logan nodded, and a golden light flashed on his forehead. The Spirit Palace opened.
Aphrodite’s spirit projection turned into a beam of light and flew into the Spirit Palace.
Logan checked his inner world. He found a new 35-star peak energy in the Spirit Palace. Old and powerful, like a lighthouse. It was ready to be called when needed.
Now, all three girls had the inheritance mark. Logan also gained the soul of an ancient strong warrior.
The trip to the southern altar had given them a lot.
Logan’s 36-star Legend peak was now stable. He could feel the edge of the 37-star threshold.
The girls had also fought many times and gained new battle experience.
Outside the altar, Old Corleone and others watched through the crystal ball. The whole place was silent.
Arthur muttered: "A 36-star Legend beating a 35-star Saint peak? This breaks the Federation’s thousand-year beliefs."
General Philip laughed, happy but also a little worried. "Logan always makes miracles."
"I think my decision to retire early was right."
Then, the Federation leaders started discussing how to release the battle footage.
After many live stream accidents, they all agreed to use a recorded version this time. That way, they could edit and hide some information.
In the end, they only released the challenge videos of Natalia, Sophia, and Lucia.
The parts about Logan and Aphrodite were strictly hidden.
With General Darwin’s nanorobot editing, the challenge video was only two minutes long and was quickly released.
As everyone waited for the online reaction to grow, Arthur’s phone rang.
After hanging up, Arthur looked serious. "The space passage to Pinocchini will open in 24 hours."
"But the Supervisory Council intercepted a secret report. The former Archbishop of The Black Church, Maya, joined with mysterious people wearing Pinocchini-style uniforms and stole a Shadow Being sample that was supposed to be sealed. They’re suspected to have run deep into the Lost World!"
Logan’s eyes turned cold.
The presence of Maya, the Archbishop, and the Pinocchini uniformed people in the Human Federation made it clear—those Shadow Being suicide warriors were connected to them.
Logan said with a serious voice: "Let’s go back. Right now."
...
The horned hawk flew at full speed, tearing through the clouds.
Aphrodite’s voice echoed in Logan’s mind: "The Black Church and Pinocchini working together? Interesting. They stole the Shadow Beings for a reason. You should go check Pinocchini yourself."
Logan asked: "Do you know their plan?"
Aphrodite paused. "They want chaos, or maybe they want to open a seal using the Shadow Beings. Pinocchini is in the Lost World. Some things there are even too dangerous for me to touch."
Logan’s face grew even more serious.
In a town called True Heart, at the Supervisory Council command center.
Rebecca stood in front of the main desk, constantly adjusting the collar of her new principal uniform.
Camilla leaned against the wall, with nineteen strange familiars hiding in the shadows. "Stop fixing it. A clean uniform won’t help if you don’t have power."
Rebecca smiled weakly. "I know, but I have to look the part."
Logan and the girls rushed in. "How much time do we have?"
General Darwin pulled up a clock. "Twenty-three hours. After the space passage opens, there’s only six hours of stability."
A crystal ball showed the border surveillance.
Maya, the Archbishop, was trading with a group of people in black and gold uniforms. Their chests had golden eye symbols.
Old Corleone narrowed his eyes. "New humans sneaking into the Federation. Looks like there are still rats in Pinocchini’s sewers."
Logan sneered. "So it seems even Pinocchini isn’t a perfect team."
He turned to Rebecca. "The Federation is now in your hands."
Rebecca straightened up. "Don’t worry, brother. I won’t let you down."
Logan turned to General Camilla. "General Camilla, I ask you to help Rebecca."
Camilla raised her head. Nineteen pairs of eyes flashed in the shadows. "Don’t worry. If anyone tries to cause trouble, I’ll break their skull."
In the secret room of the command center.
Logan took out eight belief crystals. The blood-red gems glowed in his hands.
Aphrodite’s voice came again. "Pinocchini is in the Lost World. There’s a dimensional suppression there. Humans from the Federation will lose 20% of their power. Even familiars are affected."
Logan frowned. "Is there a way around it?"
Aphrodite explained. "No way, unless you have a DNA sample from a member of the Pinocchini Golden Family. That can make a rune to resist the suppression."
Logan rolled his eyes. "Why not just eat the sample?"
Aphrodite hesitated. "It could work, but eating human flesh is too barbaric."
Logan said. "Then just drink the soup."
"Soup?" Aphrodite suddenly understood. She yelled at Logan. "You pig!"
In the square of the town called True Heart.
Rebecca, in her principal uniform, had tears in her eyes. "I will follow your legacy, brother."
Logan softly touched her hair. "Believe in yourself. You have the whole Supervisory Council behind you."
At this moment, a loud call came from the distance.
Tracy arrived from Twilight City, her armor covered in dust. "You’re leaving?"
Logan nodded. "Yeah, I’m leaving in ten minutes."
Tracy gave him one last kiss and whispered: "The Blood Blade Guild will always be your strongest support. Come back alive."
Logan held her hand. "I promise you."
At that moment, Judge Arthur was already waiting outside the city. He looked at the group behind Logan and sighed. "You’re taking half the Federation’s fighting power with you."
Logan smiled. "One man can be an army. That’s the real threat. Let’s go."
At that moment, a huge vine-like tentacle shot through the sky.
It tore through space and gently placed Gwen in front of Logan.
Gwen had a new medicine bag on her back. Her face was slightly red as she said: "Logan! I can help you! You can’t leave me behind!"
At the same time, a mental message from the vine came: "She knows basic medicine. She also learned the basics of the Ancient Potion Atlas. She can make the Spring of Life potion. She’ll be useful to you."
