Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!-Chapter 270: Diablo: Kill Me!
Logan saw it coming and teleported into the air, catching the three girls safely.
"Don’t fight it directly." Sophia quickly warned. "It’s energy core is deeply connected to the Shadow Vein. Normal attacks won’t work. We have to break the link first."
Logan nodded. "I got it. Let’s go with the plan."
He stepped back and pulled out the Yepera bones from his pocket.
The colorful bone fragments floated in the air, glowing with ancient runes.
At the same time, the Ancestral Spirits girl appeared from the contract space. She crossed her hands and released a wave of Life Purification energy, like a green tide.
"Life Cage."
Logan said with a low voice. The girl’s purification energy resonated with the Yepera bones, forming a green light net in the air.
The net fell and surrounded the Newson puppets. The shadow core inside them started to shake violently.
It tried to resist, but life energy was the natural enemy of shadow energy.
Logan seized the chance and quickly made hand signs, using the space skill [Space Peeling].
Suddenly, the space around the altar twisted and folded.
The puppets felt their energy channels were being blocked. Its 36-star halo behind it flickered in and out.
For the first time, it showed a look of anger and surprise. "You dare to stop my power!"
"That’s not your power," Logan sneered. "And you’re already dead."
The puppets realized it was bad and started to fight back.
It burned its core energy, and the black crystal shone brightly. The 36-star halo turned into real sharp blades and cut toward the life cage.
The cage cracked, and the Ancestral Spirits girl coughed, blood coming out of her mouth.
But she didn’t back down. She increased her energy output, and the Life Purification waves changed from green to a deep emerald.
"Now!" the girl shouted.
Logan’s space peeling was ready. He cut with his hands like a knife through the air.
Crack!
The sound of breaking echoed in everyone’s minds. That was the sound of space links being completely cut.
The black crystal in the puppets’ chest dimmed suddenly, and the 36 star halo faded one by one.
The Shadow Vein connection was cut. The puppets became an island, unable to get any more energy from the Shadow.
"No... it can’t be!" the puppets looked at its core in fear. "I’m a 36-star! How is this possible?"
"You’re just a puppet," Logan said, stepping closer. "Your power comes from the outside. Once it’s gone, you’re nothing."
The puppets tried to struggle, but the life cage had shrunk to the limit.
The purification energy from the Ancestral Spirits entered its body, breaking the shadow structure from the inside.
Cracks spread across the black crystal.
Logan looked at the former Federation prime minister one last time, then raised his hand.
"Slime Battle Style: Full Amplification!"
"Space Cut!"
No flashy explosion. No loud bang.
The space around the puppets collapsed inward, destroying it and its core.
When the space calmed down, there was nothing left.
First anchor point, broken!
Almost at the same moment.
Far away, at a volcano hundreds of miles away, the Shadow projection let out a furious scream.
Her power dropped rapidly, from 36-star peak to 35, then 34, and finally stabilized.
Her image became weak and cracked.
She looked down at her breaking hands, her eyes burning with anger.
"Logan!" she growled.
The break of the first anchor caused her power to drop by two stars.
Inside the altar, Logan felt the change in Shadow’s power. He let out a long breath.
Behind him, Natalia helped the exhausted Ancestral Spirits. Sophia closed her True Eye, and Lucia ended her Blood Cultivation Realm.
"It worked." Sophia said.
Logan nodded, but his face stayed serious. "This was just the first. There are two more anchors and the central node."
He looked into the distance. "But Shadow’s main body seems to be breaking free faster than expected."
He looked at the altar deep inside. The remaining shadow energy there was growing stronger.
"Take ten minutes of rest," Logan said, then sat cross-legged alone and started meditating.
Judgment Tribunal.
The underground prison door was closed tight, covered with defensive runes.
Solon, General Camilla, and General Dominic stood before the door, their bodies surrounded by 20-star marks.
General Camilla said seriously: "I can feel he’s on the other side. Diablo’s will is still fighting, but the Shadow Beings are deeply inside him."
Solon nodded. "Follow the plan. Our goal is to remove the Shadow Beings. Try not to kill Diablo."
General Dominic warned: "Once we control him, my crystal shield can hold him for three minutes. After that, it’ll break."
"Three minutes is enough. If it fails, I’ll kill him right away," Solon said, then drew his sword and slashed at the metal door.
The door split in two, and the runes on it flashed a few times before going out.
The three stepped inside and walked down a dark tunnel.
At the end of the tunnel was a large prison room. A thick energy column stood in the center, wrapped in chains that held Diablo’s body.
He was lowering his head, his long red hair hanging down. His bare chest was covered in black marks.
Suddenly, Diablo lifted his head. His eyes flashed with a hint of struggle. "Solon... you’re here... kill me!"
Solon stepped forward and grabbed both sides of his sword. "You still have consciousness. Hold on. Camilla will save you."
"Can’t save you." Diablo tensed his body, and the chains clanked. "The Shadow Beings are completely fused with me. Unless I die, there’s no way to remove them."
General Camilla didn’t say a word. She reached out, and a group of ghosts came out from her familiar space, quickly flying into Diablo’s forehead.
"Stop talking. Cooperate. You have at least a 50% chance to live," she said.
Diablo stayed silent for a few seconds. His black eyes glowed with a small light. "Do it... now..."
Dominic made a hand sign. The crystal shield expanded instantly, covering the whole room.
The energy column holding Diablo froze into an ice sculpture, leaving only half his body visible.
After finishing, Dominic nodded to Camilla. "Start the timer!"
Camilla closed her eyes quickly. Her mental power turned into thin threads and reached into Diablo’s soul sea.
Diablo clenched his teeth. His body shook violently as he fought against the Shadow Beings’ control.
General Camilla saw this and her face changed slightly. "His mind is split into three layers."
"The top layer is the puppet mind controlled by the Shadow Beings. The middle is his old fighting instinct. The deepest part is his real self."
"The Shadow Beings have already taken the first two layers. They are now attacking the deepest one. We need to remove the puppet part first."
She turned to Solon. "Use your blade energy to attack the Shadow Beings’ power point. That’s where they are attached. But be careful. Don’t hit his heart or arteries. None of us are good at healing."
"I’ll handle it!" Solon nodded. "My sword skills can cut just one white hair out of ten thousand!"
He pulled his sword and stabbed it into Diablo’s chest—just below the skin. The blade energy went through the skin and hit the black shadow marks directly.
"Roar!" The Shadow Beings cried out in pain. Diablo screamed in agony.
Inside his body, the shadow marks twisted wildly, trying to block the attack. But Solon’s sword was so precise that it found gaps in the tight energy network and cut through each power node.
Finally, all the power nodes were cut. The Shadow Beings became an isolated piece. Diablo’s scream stopped.
"All nodes hit," Solon said, quickly pulling his sword back.
General Camilla immediately increased her mental power. "Now, let’s remove the puppet mind."
"Diablo, help me. Think of your most important memory!"
Diablo’s body shook violently. His black eyes flashed with fire.
He stared ahead and said in a hoarse voice, "I remember the day I took the oath in the Tribunal. I stood under the statue of the Judging Hammer and swore to protect the Federation’s laws..."
As he spoke, the black marks on his chest slowed down.
Camilla seized the chance. Her mental threads cut into his mind like a scalpel, separating the puppet mind from his real self. "First layer removed."
Camilla was sweating. She spoke quickly. "Now, let’s handle the middle layer—the fighting instinct. This is the hardest. The Shadow Beings are deeply mixed with it."
She looked at Solon. "Next, I’ll bring out his fighting instinct and make him attack with all his power. That will use up the Shadow Beings’ energy."
"You’ll have to hit him at the same time. Cut the link between the Shadow Beings and his instinct. But be careful. He’s strong."
"Enough talk. Let’s go!" Solon pulled his hands back and got into a ready stance for a quick draw.
Camilla increased her mental power immediately.
Diablo screamed again. His roar mixed with the sound. His body was filled with flames, red and black, crashing against the crystal shield.
Then, a tear opened in front of him. A group of familiar spirits tried to attack.
"Now!" Solon waited for the perfect moment. When the familiar energy reached its peak, he struck!
One slash!
The familiar space closed!
Two slashes!
The black energy lines on Diablo’s body broke.
