Ancestral Lineage-Chapter 96: A New Subordinate.
Lisa sat quietly on Ethan’s lap; her dark skin faintly flushed as she tried to control her emotions. Ethan stared at her with a mix of confusion and guilt, his red eyes slightly narrowed.
"Lisa… I’m s—"
Lisa cut him off gently, her voice soft but firm. "It’s alright. I’m glad to be of help to you in some way. I’m sure you’ve been holding yourself back from drinking human blood. You can drink mine from now onwards."
Ethan’s brows furrowed in confusion and disbelief. "Why? Why do you go this far for someone who nearly killed you? I almost drained your blood."
Lisa looked at him earnestly, her eyes unwavering. "You healed me, right?" she asked, her lips curving into a shy, almost bashful smile as a faint blush spread across her cheeks.
Ethan’s eyes widened in panic. "You saw it?!" he exclaimed, his tone edged with worry.
Lisa giggled softly. "Don’t worry. I promise I will never tell anyone, "She reassured him.
Ethan let out a small sigh of relief. "I’ll take your word for it," he said, his voice regaining its composure.
Lisa nodded. "I’m glad."
Ethan hesitated for a moment, then asked, "So why? Why go this far?"
Lisa’s smile faltered for a moment, but her resolve was unshaken. "You can say I’m madly in love. People can do anything for love, even face death."
Ethan’s expression shifted to one of deep contemplation. He looked away momentarily before saying in a quieter tone, "Do you know I already have a lover?"
Lisa’s heart ached at his words, but she nodded with a brave smile. "As much as it pains me, I’m aware. I know that you love each other very much, but she assured me that I can have a place in your heart and beside you, and I will do anything to acquire that."
Her words hung in the air, heavy with emotion. Lisa’s gaze flickered to his lips as she resisted the growing urge to close the distance between them. She could feel his breath on her face, the intoxicating mix of his manly scent and the faint aroma of her own blood. It was almost overwhelming.
"Doesn’t that make you stupid?" Ethan asked, his tone a mix of frustration and bewilderment.
Lisa smiled faintly, her golden eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "I can be stupid for you. Do you know how long I’ve loved you?"
Ethan remained silent, watching her closely.

"Ever since you appeared at the doorway to my class in middle school with your mother," she admitted, her voice trembling slightly.
"That was actually my auntie, Petra," Ethan corrected, his brow furrowing slightly.
Lisa’s face flushed in embarrassment. "I-It doesn’t matter. The thing is, I’ve been drawn to you ever since then. I got admission to Frilga Academy, but I used my connections to get into Anbord Mage Academy when I heard you were coming here. I did everything I could to get into the same class as you, but despite all that, I couldn’t bring myself to get closer to you, giving way for Clara. She beat me to it, and I felt heartbroken. I was so heartbroken that I nearly… I nearly committed suicide. I thought I had no reason to live anymore."
Ethan’s expression softened, his eyes filled with guilt and sorrow. "So… your method of salvation was to die?" he asked quietly.
Lisa’s voice cracked slightly as she replied, "I guess you can say I was foolish. I would have ended it today if it wasn’t for Clara. I don’t know why she did that, but I won’t waste it!"
Ethan exhaled deeply, rubbing the back of his head in frustration. "Actually, Clara isn’t my only lover. I have three now… and another potential lover."
Lisa’s jaw dropped. "What?!"
Ethan laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "Surprise!" he said with a sheepish grin.
Lisa stared at him in disbelief. "How?!" she demanded, her voice tinged with a mix of anger and confusion.
"You can say it’s fate and destiny and… some other stuff," Ethan mumbled, avoiding her piercing gaze.
Lisa sighed deeply, her shoulders slumping. "Clara already told me that you are not as simple as you seem."
Ethan gritted his teeth. "That girl deserves a good spanking!" he muttered under his breath.
Lisa’s eyes widened in shock. "Y-You spank her…?"
Ethan’s face turned bright red. "What?! It’s not what you’re thinking!"
"Then why are you sweating?!" Lisa demanded, her voice rising in pitch.
"It’s from my cultivation!" Ethan snapped defensively.
"Meh," Lisa said, crossing her arms with a pout.
Ethan chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Cute!"
Lisa blushed furiously. "Uwah! Stop it!"
"Cute!" Ethan repeated, grinning.
"Ahh! Stop it! Please…" Lisa whined, covering her face with her hands.

Ethan smirked playfully, leaning closer to Lisa. "Did you know that you were leaking?" he asked, his tone teasing.
Lisa froze, her face a mix of embarrassment and horror. "You noticed…?"
"Ever since," Ethan replied, his smirk growing wider.
Lisa flushed crimson and shouted, "F*** you!"
Ethan laughed heartily. "I would love that."
"Bitch!" Lisa shot back, her fists lightly pounding against his chest.
"I’m a male," Ethan quipped, still laughing at her flustered state.
Lisa groaned in frustration. "Argh! Make me your subordinate!"
Ethan blinked, caught off guard. "Eh?"
"Make me your subordinate," Lisa repeated firmly. "I don’t know what it is, but I think it’s good if one of your lovers suggests it."
Ethan stared at her intently. "Are you sure? You can never betray me. You will see things… you will see the world as I do. You will experience things that might scar you."
Lisa’s eyes burned with determination. "If it gets me closer to you, I would do it ten times over!"
Ethan’s gaze softened, but there was a flicker of hesitation in his eyes. "Don’t regret it later."
Lisa smiled; her confidence unwavering. "I’ll kiss you anytime I feel regret."
Ethan laughed. "Hard one! I like it!"
"F*** you!" Lisa hissed, trying to hide the smile tugging at her lips.
Still chuckling, Ethan tapped into his path. His expression turned serious, golden light flickering in his eyes as he drew upon his mystical abilities. His gaze bore into Lisa, who met it with steadfast resolve. The ritual to make her his subordinate had changed recently, allowing him to do it with fewer formalities. As he initiated the process, he spoke calmly. "Do you stay at home or on campus?"
"Campus," Lisa answered quietly.
"Good. Then follow me home. We can continue from there," Ethan said, standing up with her still in his arms.
Lisa’s eyes widened. "Okay…" she murmured, feeling her cheeks heat up again.
Ethan noticed her reaction and smirked. "Hey, get your mind out of the gutter!"
"I’m not doing anything!" Lisa retorted defensively.
"Yeah, yeah," Ethan teased.
Suddenly, the ground beneath Ethan’s feet began to crack as a faint brown glow enveloped him. Lisa looked up at him, startled. "You… what are you thinking?"
Ethan’s mischievous grin widened. "Hold on tight."
Before Lisa could respond, Ethan leaped. The Cultivation Hall was massive, with an open ceiling towering three stories high. As he ascended, the brown glow around him intensified. Halfway through his jump, a blue aura radiated from his body while yellow lightning crackled around his ankles and elbows.
FWOOSH!
Lisa shrieked, clutching tightly to Ethan. "Aah! Ethan! I will kill you!"
Ethan laughed, his voice echoing in the open space. "Hahaha!"
"Don’t you f***ing drop me!" Lisa shouted, her voice both panicked and furious.
"Hahahaha!" Ethan laughed even louder, enjoying the thrill.
"Ethannnn!" Lisa yelled as they soared higher before landing gracefully on the ground outside the building.

A short while later, back at Ethan’s house, he was bantering with Trevor as Clara introduced Lisa to the others.
"This is Ethan’s first love, Harley. But don’t let Ethan know that we know, okay?" Clara said with a sly grin, whispering to Lisa.

"This is Andriel," Clara continued, gesturing to a tall, elegant woman with a commanding presence. "She nearly killed Ethan, but she’s now his to-be fiancée."
Andriel raised an eyebrow at Clara. "Was that really necessary?"
Clara shrugged nonchalantly. "We shouldn’t keep secrets from each other."
Lisa’s head was spinning as Clara grabbed her hand and led her toward the kitchen. When they entered, Lisa froze in shock. Standing there was a figure she knew all too well—tall, clad in a black dress, with a veil covering her face.
"And this," Clara said cheerfully, "is big sister Carmen. You might know her as Miss Carmen, the principal, or Miss Béli, our teacher."
Lisa’s mouth fell open in disbelief. "M-Miss Carmen? Miss Béli?"
Carmen pulled back her veil, revealing a stunningly beautiful face. "The veil was for the dramatic effect," Clara said with a sly smile, gesturing toward Lisa’s stunned expression.
Lisa blinked rapidly, struggling to process what she was hearing. "A-and she’s Ethan’s fiancée?"
Carmen chuckled. "Hi there, Lisa. It seems you’ve been taken too."
Lisa stammered, "H-how… when…?"
"Hold on there, sweetheart," Carmen said warmly. "I’m Carmen, okay? You’re now part of the family, so you can call me Carmen."
Ethan groaned from the other side of the room. "When did I say I was going to add her?"
Clara turned to him with an innocent expression. "You’re not going to add her?"
"You’re not going to add me?" Lisa echoed; her voice tinged with hurt.
In unison, the room erupted. "You’re evil!"
Ethan sighed in exasperation and motioned for Lisa to come closer. When she approached, he gently took her hand. His eyes turned golden, a small golden dot appearing on his forehead. His hair floated slightly as his expression grew solemn.
Lisa winced as she felt a stinging pain in her hand. It faded quickly, replaced by a glowing golden symbol that etched itself onto her skin. She stared at it in awe.
Trevor, standing nearby, had his own hair floating as his eyes glowed with a mix of red and gold. He smirked at Lisa and said, "Welcome, new sister-in-law."
The room fell silent, everyone staring wide-eyed at Trevor.
"Was that part necessary?" Ethan asked, glaring at Trevor.
"Do you have a problem with it?" Trevor shot back with a cheeky grin.
"You f—" Ethan began before the sound of a system notification interrupted him.
Ding!
Ethan froze, his expression darkening. "I’m coming!" he shouted, dashing out of the kitchen. But he was too late. A crimson light enveloped him, and he collapsed.
