Ancestral Lineage-Chapter 83: Soulmate Quest.
"What is it?" Clara asked, her eyes wide with worry as Ethan suddenly froze mid-step, his expression hardening.
"You guys didn’t get something?" Ethan’s voice was cold, his gaze sharp as he scanned his friends.
"You mean you got a quest?" Lamair, who had silently joined them, inquired. By now, they were all familiar with the mysterious quests and trials that Ethan’s "inheritance" bestowed upon him.
"Yes."
"I didn’t get one," Trevor replied casually, his attention more focused on the smoke bomb he was toying with.
"Me neither," Emily added, barely turning her head. She was busy trying to snatch the bomb from Trevor’s hands, her fingers brushing against it in a playful attempt.
"Hmm. Let me check the details first." Ethan muttered as he accessed the system in his mind.

"I think I’m going to die." Ethan muttered with a dry gaze.
Ethan blinked, the words burning into his mind. "I think I’m going to die," he muttered, his gaze distant and dry.
"What nonsense are you spurting now?" Trevor laughed, tossing the smoke bomb at Ethan, which harmlessly bounced off his back.
"Is the quest really that hard?" Clara asked, her voice trembling with concern.
"Pretty much. I think if I complete it, you are going to have a new love friend." Ethan said, expressionless.
"You mean..."
"Yes. A new girl and the quest identify her as my soulmate. I hope it’s not anyone hard to deal with, otherwise I might go very extreme." Ethan said in a cold tone. He didn’t care if she was a soulmate or a lifemate. If she’s difficult, he will cut her off. He’s happy with the girls he has, and they are enough.
"Do you really have to do this?" Clara asked again, now a trace of jealousy in her voice.
"It’s either I lose a part of my soul, or I save her from whatever trouble she’s in."
"So harsh!"
"I know right. And I don’t even know where she is to begin with plus the time limit is less than an hour!" Ethan exclaimed in frustration. They were now at the gates of the academy, heading towards Trevor’s Terra Edge.
"The boss has finally cornered that elf... it’s going to be fun."
"I heard she’s infatuated with one of the Tyrants, I’m sure is the boss. He’s good with the ladies."
"Hehe! We will get to taste her after the boss. I can’t wait!"
As they headed towards the vehicle, they heard some group of boys muttering with excited expressions and with Ethan and Trevor’s senses, they heard everything perfectly.
Quest Clue Identified!
Ethan and Trevor suddenly turned to face each other; their expressions sharp and cold. And Ethan had a slight clue of who the elf was, and he wished she wasn’t the one. She was in his class and been trying these past few days to get closer to him in many ways. "Many ways", that Ethan gave her a cold shoulder. He already had two girlfriends, and it was not news in the academy that Ethan was dating Clara. But this elf girl didn’t care. Probably, this was normal to her.
...
"You mean to say, she’s in this school?" Clara asked in a slight disbelieving tone.
"Yes, and I think I have an idea who she is." Ethan said while adjusting his spectacles. His eyes glowing a faint shade of blue and red. Whatever he was planning, no one knew.

Andriel had always been a beautiful girl; loved by many, had multiple suitors some old enough to be her grandfather, may his soul rest in peace. She was more like a princess because of her lineage. She inherited the powers of her dead mother. She was one of the few rare species of elves, the Moon Elves and Andriel fortunately became that as they were very rare and very powerful but great power came with a price, and it started when her power started manifesting. It would go on a rampage, summoning the moon over her city for days, sometimes weeks. When this happens, it is always nighttime in the elven city and weak-willed people will be in slumber till the night is gone. This was just a summary of what she could do.
After this went on for so long that the elves were getting restless and some even becoming mad with rage because of the consequences of the effects of her powers, her father sought many scholars and teachers for a solution, at least to keep her power in check. Fortunately, there were solutions. The first one was an amulet with light energy in it. It will keep her power in check for at most a month and she would have to recharge it by placing it in the sun. This solution was instantly taken. But there was a permanent solution, one which Andriel dreaded and also expected.
This solution was bonding or marriage. Moon elves can only marry their soulmates, a reason for their low number as most die before they even meet their soulmates. It was like finding a needle in a haystack, simple yet complex and difficult. You know the color, shape and size of the needle but finding it will have you questioning your eyesight and intelligence. It was that hard. She was to either find her soulmate, what will happen next was unknown, but it was guaranteed that her powers will be stabilized completely, or the next alternative was to marry someone of high social standing. It can be a prince, a minister, a king etc. This won’t completely solve it, but it would at least keep her power in check till she is strong and old enough to control it.
She didn’t want to become the plaything of some arrogant prince, so she set out on this impossible yet possible quest to find her soulmate, wherever he may be, and her starting point was Anbord, known for its variety of races unlike the other continents. She came in as a transfer student and on the first day, she saw him–red hair, green, emerald eye with a beautiful red ring around his pupils, very tall with his slightly pale skin and almost sharp ears, it was definitely him! When he approached her, she sensed it, no she saw it; the huge silver-indigo being around him, like some cosmic entity with swirling galaxies of different colors and shapes in his body and then the distinct cosmic crown on his head with different parts, all in a unique shapes and colors. The crown was near his head yet far as only two of the parts of the crown were on his head, one gold with pinkish details and the other white with red and blue details. She saw another which was part black, part white close to his head. Then she saw her own, a violet one with a faint silvery lunar glow just behind the black and white part but still far from it.
She had found her soulmate, just like that and it seemed had multiple soulmates too, but she didn’t care. She would try everything to get him and try she did, but she misunderstood him for other guys. Her knowledge about guys was failing her in this as all the seductive poses she did in their morning training or the weak plays she did in the afternoon part of fell on blind eyes. His expression didn’t even change by an atom when she did all that and her actions had come back to bite her. She had been blackmailed.
Just after they finished their training, one the students approached her and offered her a deal to get her the guy she wanted because she had noticed all her "hard work." Out of excitement, she didn’t ask for the prize and instantly agreed and now here she was, like a cornered rat. For the first time in her life, she was praying for a miracle to happen otherwise, she would be defiled here, and no one would know or care. And she was truly scared, very scared and the expression on the guy’s face wasn’t helping.
...
"My sweet sweet Andriel. I heard you’ve been trying to get my attention. Sorry though. You see, as a handsome and wealthy guy, I get a lot of these acts of infatuation that I’ve become used to it. But luckily for you, one of my trusted men saw your "love" for me and alerted me and I can’t say to such a beautiful lady such as yourself." Leon said while roughly holding Andriel’s chin and licking his lips. She was bound to a thick pole in one of the changing rooms. There were other guys around, but they were outside, waiting for their turn. That was if they would ever get the chance.
"I assure you; it will be so good you will come begging for me."
"You disgusting bastard! I was never infatuated with you and would never be! Leave me alone!" Andriel shouted, tears in her eyes. She could have fought her way out as she was very strong but currently, she was in rampage mode and the amulet was working and anytime this happened, her power would be cut off and she would be back to the power level of a Novice, the weakest one there is, and her kidnapper was an Advanced level mage. There was no hope or so she thought.
"Ah the sweet voice of an elf, I love it. I wonder how your moans will be. I bet they will be melodious."
"You are monster, a disgusting monster!"
"I love it more when they start breaking up. It is like spicy chicken dipped in ketchup, so sweet and delicious."
"Please... sniff... don’t do this."
"Come again?"
"I beg you please... I will do anything but please no this." Andriel was now crying, her tears falling like precious gems on to hard and slippery floor of the changing room.
"Haha! Hahahahahahahhahahahahahaha! You beg wha... ahahahahah!" Leon burst out laughing like a maniac, his expression full of malice and lust.
Tear!
He roughly gripped Andriel’s shirt and tore if off, revealing her beautiful fair, almost white skin and the twin peaks encased in a sports bra. Her tears fell on them, making them glitter in the low light of the room.
"You fell in love with that fucker! You are infatuated with Ethan Smith! That motherfucker stole my girl!"
"Please!!!"
"Shut the fuck up bitch! I’ve waited for so long to get back at him, pay him back for what he did to me!"
"I got nothing to...PAH!"
"I just told you to shut it! Rejoice, because you will be the first of my paybacks to that fucker."
Leon said in a chilly tone after slapping Andriel on the cheek, his hand drawn on her beautiful face. Now she was too shaken to even cry. Her beautiful violet eyes which was full of joy and light slowly dimmed as the reality of the situation settled in. There was no hope, no miracle from anywhere and she would never be together with her soulmate. But before all hope was lost, she heard a cold voice which although sounded different still had the same special aura around it that only she could see.
"I would advise you against touching her any longer. The consequences will be very severe."
"You came!"
"Sorry I was late."
