Ancestral Lineage-Chapter 116: Aftermath.
As the dust from the battle royale settled, the tension in the air was palpable. Sixtie leaned heavily on her knees, her breaths shallow and labored, yet her defiant gaze was locked on Ethan. Trevor stood nearby; his exhaustion evident but his stance unyielding. Ethan, meanwhile, stood tall amidst the chaos, his hair still flowing slightly as his aura gradually retracted.
The second-year students watching from the sidelines were eerily quiet, their awe and fear evident. The vampires among them, however, were different. Their pale faces glowed faintly as their red eyes shimmered with reverence. Whispers of devotion spread through the crowd, an almost hymn-like murmur growing louder.
"Lord Ethan... our god..." one voice murmured, echoed by others in hushed tones.
Ethan’s red eyes scanned the field as he addressed the audience with a calm yet commanding voice. "Today was more than a test—it was a demonstration of strength and unity. What you saw here is only the beginning. This academy will soon witness a power unlike any it has ever known."
His words sent ripples through the crowd, and even the academy’s non-vampire students exchanged uneasy glances.
Among the fighters, Sixtie slowly straightened herself, her demon pride keeping her from collapsing. Her piercing gaze met Ethan’s, her green eyes glowing faintly with suppressed power. "You’re strong," she admitted begrudgingly, her voice steady despite her exhaustion. "But strength without control or purpose is just destruction waiting to happen. What is your purpose, Ethan? To dominate? To conquer?"
Trevor, sensing the tension, stepped forward. "Careful, demon," he warned with a smirk, though there was a protective edge to his voice. "You’re speaking to someone far above you."
Sixtie’s lip curled slightly in defiance, but before she could respond, Ethan raised a hand, silencing Trevor. "She has a point," Ethan said, his tone thoughtful. "But my purpose is not something I need to justify—not to her, not to anyone."
He took a step closer to Sixtie, his presence overwhelming as his red eyes seemed to pierce into her very soul. "You fought well, Sixtie. You are very strong to remain standing after fighting two vampires of the highest order. But tell me... what will you do now? Will you remain defiant, clinging to your pride? Or will you join me and see what lies beyond your limited perspective?"
Sixtie hesitated, torn between her instincts and the unshakable force that Ethan represented. "You’re asking me to betray my people," she said carefully.
"I’m giving you a choice," Ethan corrected. "Stay where you are, bound by your loyalty to a stagnant system—or step forward and become something greater. Think on it. And I don’t care about where you are from or who you are, I’m just looking for strong subordinates, not just in academy, but beyond. You can come find me or Trevor when you decide."
He turned away, leaving her with her thoughts as he addressed the rest of his subordinates. "You’ve all done well today. Take this as a lesson—power is meaningless without control. Rest and recover; our work has only just begun. The subordinates will be announced later. For now, you are dismissed."
As the fighters began to disperse, the audience remained captivated, murmurs growing louder. Among them, the vampires were particularly affected, many already vowing their loyalty to Ethan in whispers.
Trevor approached Sixtie, his smirk softening into something more genuine. "You should think about what he said," he remarked, his voice low. "Following Ethan isn’t a loss—it’s an opportunity."
Sixtie scoffed, though her expression was more contemplative than dismissive. "We’ll see," she muttered, her mind swirling with thoughts of Ethan’s power and the promise of something greater.
As the crowd began to leave, Ethan glanced over his shoulder at Sixtie one last time. "Decide soon," he said softly, his voice carrying despite the distance. "The time for hesitation is running out."

Ethan was very surprised by this, the reason for his actions towards Sixtie.
"Jerry! You wanted to talk to me." Ethan called out to Jerry who was walking away with a downcast expression. Hearing Ethan’s call made him look up in hope but with a strong hint of fear.
"Y-yes!" It was a wonder. How the arrogant Jerry had turned all meek just from a little threat.

"Fuck!" Ethan cursed as he read this. He didn’t fully understand it but he had an idea on how it could have happened. When Jerry nearly called his mom a bitch, making him nearly kill him. Thoughts on that, Ethan didn’t feel anything at that time. Like the fear of killing or any such emotions. It was rather normal, almost fulfilling to be honest.
"E-Ethan." Jerry stammered, sweat already soaking his clothes as he stood in front of Ethan. Ethan had completely erased his aura, but Jerry could still feel it.
"Follow me." Ethan said as he led Jerry away from the meadow towards the bushes. He erased their presence, so no one noticed them.
---
Ethan and Jerry sat on huge rocks beside each other in silence. Jerry’s head was bowed as he struggled to speak.
Imagine sitting beside a lion...
Jerry was shaking so much that the rock was even creaking a little. There were bags under his eyes and his expression was pale, almost rivalling a vampire. Ethan nearly took him for one if it wasn’t for his natural ability to determine vampires.
"Jerry! Relax and talk to me. What did you want to talk about?" Ethan asked in a calm voice.
"I-I... you are going to die!" Just exclaimed the last part, causing Ethan’s expression to change.
"Say what again?" Ethan’s eyes glowed subconsciously.
"Please... p-promise me y-you won’t kill me!" Jerry was almost crying now.
"I can’t promise that, but I can hold myself back if you don’t stop beating about the bush." Ethan said in a chilly tone, causing the air around to freeze.
"Mm... okay! I-I overheard L-Leon and his cronies speak of something that will disrupt the outing and kill you and if possible, your friends. The main target is you and your friends are just collateral damage, if all goes well." Jerry said with a fearful face. If first his race as a vampire was uncertain, now it was.
Silence! Absolute, chilling silence was all there was. Even the small birds had stopped singing and were shaking in fear. Some small animals like rabbits even died from shock.
Ethan’s eyes were glowing a dangerous crimson while his long red hair floated slightly. His skin was now white with the tattoos glowing a corresponding crimson color. His expression was that of anger. Pure unbridled anger that his subordinates and lovers could feel from wherever they were.
There was murder on his mind now and Leon was the target.
Kill him? That was harsh but it was normal for a stupid and arrogant noble to be like that and Ethan could accept it but his friends? His lovers? His subordinates? His family?
Leon had truly crossed the line.
A heavy but dreadful and crushing aura burst from Ethan, destroying everything within a kilometer around him, except Jerry who was covered in a black veil.
"Honey? What’s wrong?" Carmen asked in worry, without acknowledging the variable that was Jerry. She couldn’t care less when Ethan was like this. The aura he was radiating was suffocating, even for her. Not like he could win in a battle against her, but it was very strong and even reeked of blood. Pure, potent blood.
"I will kill them all!" Ethan exclaimed, a blend of silvery-blue, gold, and red light bursting from and causing a large crater to form.
"Honey calm down. Please." Carmen exclaimed as she hugged Ethan.
"I will..." All of a sudden, a divine golden light descended onto Ethan, ridding him of all his power. His eyes regained color once again as he recovered his senses.
"Carmen?" Ethan exclaimed in surprise when he saw the veiled woman hugging him.
"Mm. You are alright now?" She asked in worry.
"I think so. You shouldn’t worry about me."
"You nearly killed someone! Look around you!"
"I did that?"
"Idiot!"
"Ethan..." a weak voice sounded beside them making them gasp in shock.
Blood was flowing freely from Jerry’s eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. His hair had turned grey while his skin had become wrinkled and white, like he’d grown more than a few years old.
"W-what’s happening!" Carmen exclaimed. She had seen her share of strange things, but this was too strange. It was horrific to say the least.

"Fuck! Carmen step back!" Ethan shouted at Carmen.
"What?"
"Now! Do it now!"
A purple claw materialized out of Ethan and grabbed Carmen away from him.
"Jerry... can you hear me?" Ethan asked.
"Ethan... please... s-save me."
"There’s only one way..."
"Please... cough... do it."
Ethan’s eyes glowed crimson as he looked into Jerry’s resolved but almost dim eyes. He bit his finger, drawing blood and placed it on Jerry’s mouth.

He then controlled the blood, pouring a bit of his path’s essence in it as Jerry’s eyes closed. He then raised his hands towards Jerry’s body, controlling his spilt blood to form a ball of blood. He then pushed it towards Jerry’s chest.
A beam of bright red light with hints of gold burst from Jerry’s body. Another light, a pure silver burst from his forehead and clashed with the red light. Ethan seeing this, fully released his aura and went into full Primogenitor form. That silver light gave him the creeps, meaning it was the De-Primogenitor power.
Strengthened by Ethan’s aura and presence, the red light fought back for dominance over Jerry’s body.
---
The battle between the red and silver light intensified, swirling around Jerry’s body as he convulsed in pain. Ethan’s aura crushed the silver light, feeding it into the crimson essence that had already taken root inside Jerry. However, the silver light fought back with a relentless force that only a De-Primogenitor could muster, pushing against Ethan’s blood control with an eerie resistance.
Carmen watched helplessly, her face pale as the scene unfolded. The power radiating from Ethan was so overwhelming that it distorted the air itself, sending ripples across the surroundings. The weight of his aura pressed down on her, but she didn’t dare move, her eyes fixed on Jerry.
"Ethan..." she whispered, barely able to comprehend what was happening. "Will this... will this save him?"
Ethan’s crimson eyes flashed as he concentrated harder, pushing more of his power into Jerry’s body. "It has to save him." His voice was laced with urgency. "I can’t let him become a De-Primogenitor. Not like this."
As the battle of lights continued to rage, Ethan’s form began to shift, his tattoos glowing brighter, his power surging to levels he hadn’t accessed before. He could feel the strain on his body, the weight of maintaining control over both the blood and the chaotic energy inside Jerry.
The silver light seemed to recede slightly, but just as Ethan thought victory was within reach, the De-Primogenitor power retaliated with a violent surge, momentarily knocking him off balance. For a split second, Ethan’s focus faltered, and the silver light found its way to Jerry’s heart.
The sight was horrifying—his body began to age rapidly, his hair turning white, his features wrinkling as if time itself was rewinding him. Ethan’s heart clenched as he saw the transformation reaching its peak, Jerry’s body barely holding together under the pressure.
"No!" Ethan shouted, his voice rising in desperation. With a final roar, he poured every last ounce of his Primogenitor power into the conflict. His aura flared violently, engulfing Jerry in a cocoon of red light, the pressure overwhelming the silver light once and for all.
For a moment, everything went silent. The intense energy settled into an uneasy stillness, and Ethan collapsed to his knees, panting heavily, drained from the exertion. Carmen rushed to his side, her hands hovering over him, not daring to touch. She could feel the aftermath of his power—how it left him weakened, but victorious.
Jerry lay on the ground, his body still, his breathing shallow. Slowly, he opened his eyes, blinking in confusion as he struggled to sit up. His appearance had returned to normal—no longer aged, no longer withering under the influence of the De-Primogenitor power. But his face was pale, his eyes wide with shock.
"What... what happened?" Jerry murmured; his voice weak but steady.
Ethan, still on the ground, exhaled in relief. "You’re safe," he said softly, his voice hoarse. "The transition... I stopped it."
Jerry looked at Ethan with a mix of awe and disbelief. "You... saved me?" he asked, his voice trembling.
Ethan slowly rose to his feet, his expression softening as he met Jerry’s gaze. "I did what I had to do," he replied quietly. "But this... This is a warning. You’re lucky I was here, Jerry. I won’t always be around to save you. Understand that. And I’m sorry."
Jerry nodded slowly, his hands trembling at his sides. "I... I don’t know how to repay you," he said, a sense of gratitude and fear entwined in his voice.
Ethan’s eyes flickered briefly with an unreadable emotion. "You’ll repay me by doing your part. Stay loyal. Don’t make the same mistakes again. Besides, you are vampire now."
Carmen stepped forward cautiously, her gaze still heavy with concern. "Ethan..." she began, her voice low. "Are you okay?"
Ethan, despite his exhaustion, flashed her a faint smile. "I’m fine. But we can’t let this happen again. I’ll need to be more careful with my power... with how I handle others. I can’t let my emotions control me like that."
The last part of his statement was directed at himself, a reminder of how close he had come to losing control. The power he wielded was dangerous, and while it could save lives, it could just as easily destroy everything in its path.
As the trio stood there, the silence of the surrounding area finally gave way to the sounds of the forest slowly returning to normal. The birds began chirping again, the wind rustling the trees. The world, for the moment, had righted itself.
But in the back of Ethan’s mind, a dark thought lingered. The De-Primogenitors were no longer just a distant threat; they were a real danger to him, to everyone he cared about. His mission had just become far more complicated.
Just an awakening De-Primogenitor had made him use up almost all his power...
