An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 146: Information
Chapter 146: Information
Riven walked out of the office. He closed the door and was about to leave when he saw Lance standing there.
Riven walked past him, but Lance raised his hand and blocked Riven. Riven looked down at the hand and then slowly looked up at Lance.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Why did you do it?" Lance asked.
"Hmmm, well, it’s simple— to give you a second chance," Riven said and tried to pass, but Lance still blocked him.
"You know that’s a lie. You know I hate you, and I wanted you out of the way. So why would you do something like that to help me?" Lance asked.
"Help you? Now let’s not get cocky," Riven said as he looked Lance in the eye. "I didn’t help you. I only made you trade one prison for another. One that doesn’t bind you in chains, but binds you to understand the weight of your own actions.
One that will make you live every day knowing that you were able to return to a normal life just because I came through for you. One that reminds you that I now have the power to ruin everything for you.
Once, you held the position of the hero, the chosen, but now all everyone sees you as is an unstable weapon— and that weapon has been tasked to me," Riven said with a smile.
"You think this will hold? That you’ll be able to control me? You think I would let you?" Lance asked.
"Hmmm, you don’t get it, do you? I created the persona of the hero because, along with the rest of the class, we fought to save the academy— and you fought to tear it down.
So for the nearest future, our voice holds more ground than yours. And with the whole class behind me, I’ll be controlling everything you do till we graduate. And if you don’t like it, you can easily take the punishment that comes with it," Riven said.
He walked past Lance and then paused again. "Heroes aren’t chosen, Lance, they are made through hard work and determination. The earlier you learn that your destiny is beyond an obsession with being on top, the better for you," Riven said and walked away, leaving Lance standing there.
’That fucker, who the hell does he think he is? Telling me I didn’t work hard? Telling me I’m obsessed with being on top? The top belongs to me— it belongs to me alone. I’ll not stop, no matter what. Riven Von Grave, you are too big a risk to allow in my world,’ Lance thought, his mind full of rage.
His thoughts triggered something that he didn’t expect. His system screen came on.

Lance looked at the mission on his screen. He balled his fists. "Seems like I’ll have to remove you, Riven," he muttered under his breath before walking away.
Quin opened the door and walked out immediately after Lance left. He looked in the direction that Lance had gone, his lips curled into a smile.
"This is going to be an interesting set," he muttered before walking away as well.

Elena sat inside her office, her arms folded. She leaned back into her chair. "You can come out now," she said.
A lady appeared inside the room, dressed in a light black dress. Her jet-black hair was tied into a ponytail. All the black heavily contrasted with her pale skin.
She walked to a chair and sat down. "Why did Quin leave? I’m certain he knew I was here," she said.
"Quin hates politics as a whole, so every scandal that would make him dip his hands too deep into politics, he stays away from.
Honestly, I wish I could be like him and not care about politics, but not everyone can be the one above," Elena said.
"It’s a privilege and a curse. He bears his own weight in silence. But that’s not what is the topic now. That kid— is he the one you told me about?" the lady asked.
"Yes, Riven Von Grave, the fourth son of the Baron of Ribest," Elena responded.
"I see, the trash turned hero. When you first told me about him, I did a little digging, and nothing about all he has done in the past few months makes sense.
He went from being the undeserving, overly pompous noble to a thriving young man with a lot of potential.
Something about him doesn’t sit well— as a matter of fact, everything about him doesn’t sit well," she said.
"I know all that. The kid is full of mystery. His growth has been shocking, rising above the prince and even Lance.
To the extent Quin wants to train him. It goes without saying, there’s a lot that’s suspicious. But as far as we know, he wants to fight for us and the kingdom.
And because of that, I don’t want to dig or try to find out the truth about him. If he feels threatened, he might leave to another kingdom completely," Elena said.
"I doubt that. After all, his family are nobles here. But still, pushing him to the wall isn’t a good idea. I don’t think those above will allow us to just leave him.
So I’ll personally look into him as much as possible. I’ll try not to scare him off, though," she said.
"Please don’t go overboard, Lilian. You tend to get carried away," Elena said.
"Come on, Elena. I’ve changed over the years. I’m sure I can control myself now. Don’t worry about it," Lilian said with a smile.
"Sigh, you make me worry, you know. But go ahead— we need the information." Elena gave the go-ahead.
