American Tax Officer-Chapter 673 - 338: ’Storm Retaliation Begins_2
Chapter 673: Chapter 338: ‘Storm’ Retaliation Begins_2
“As the saying goes, a soldier who doesn’t want to be a general isn’t a good soldier. Do you think there’s anyone in the Internal Revenue Service system who wouldn’t want to be the Director of the IRS?”
Wylder smiled and said, “As long as you can secure this funding for us, the President promises to nominate you for the position of Director of the IRS during his term. How does that sound, Inspector David?”
David did not show any joy but rather responded calmly, “I must be frank, Chief of Staff Wylder, even if the President does not nominate me, I’m afraid the position would still eventually be mine. So, the condition you’re offering doesn’t seem to hold much value for me.”
Wylder’s expression changed but he quickly recovered and said, “That may be true, but considering the current situation, it’s not known how many years it will take for you to reach that position naturally. However, if you agree to do this for us, in at most six years you could take office—then you would be the youngest Director in the history of the IRS and one of the few individuals of such a young age to hold such significant power in the history of America!”
“Our current Director has treated me very well; I was promoted entirely by his hand and I am not ungrateful. And as for the promotion you propose… I think it’s unnecessary. I prefer things to progress naturally, but… negotiating about gathering funds for you is not out of the question!”
Hearing the first part of the statement, Wylder’s expression changed, but he relaxed when he heard the rest, asking, “Alright, then what do you want?”
...
“Next, I will initiate a nationwide tax audit operation codenamed ‘Storm’. I hope that you at the White House can step forward and publicly support it, nothing more!”
Now, he had virtually burnt his bridges with the Freemasonry and his relationship with the Ansa Group had also shattered. Under such circumstances, public support from the White House would naturally alleviate much of his stress.
After all, no matter how powerful the Freemasonry or the Ansa Group might seem in the shadows, it is the White House that visibly holds the center of power in this nation.
With such a central power endorsing him, he would hold the moral high ground and, coupled with the power of the IRS, he could then freely retaliate against the Freemasonry for their attempt to repeal the Black Tax Law.
“This…”
A hesitation crossed Wylder’s face.
Since the Freemasonry had pushed for a repeal of the Black Tax Law and even convened a hearing, it had already touched the IRS’s bottom line. Although this had passed, it was clear that the IRS was not going to let it go easily.
And this tax audit operation named ‘Storm’ would certainly be a retaliation against the Freemasonry Group.
If they at the White House were to come forward and support it, that would mean going directly against the Freemasonry, contradicting their original intention of staying out of the conflict.
After pondering for a long while, Wylder still couldn’t directly agree, so he countered, “Inspector David, what if we don’t want to agree to this condition?”
In his view, since David was already prepared for the audit operation, he planned to retaliate against Freemasonry, and the funds would be secured anyway, so why rush to agree to this condition?
Is it that if the White House doesn’t agree to the condition, the IRS won’t retaliate against the Freemasonry?
Clearly, that was not possible!
However, he thought too simply, as David’s next words made Wylder’s face suddenly flush with anger.
“If you do not agree to the condition, then I will reach out to Mikataze and Han Oulu to discuss what bills or policies they want to push, and I will help them achieve it!”
“David, you can’t do this!”

Wylder, as if stung by a needle, abruptly stood up, glaring at David with anger.
“The so-called Mikataze, Han Orlu, is a highly esteemed politician on the American political stage, and both had publicly announced their intention to participate in the 2024 presidential election.”
In other words, at that time, these two would be competitors for the White House.
And if David were able to gather support and funding for these two men’s various legislative proposals, their prestige would inevitably soar. Come the election year, it would be difficult to predict whose favor the election would swing.
“Chief of Staff Wylder, adults only see benefits in their eyes. If you want to achieve your goals, you have to offer some benefits, otherwise, no one will be willing to go to their deaths for you!”
If they didn’t show some color to the White House, the White House would probably always treat them as a mere tool.
Now he was no longer the small local director he used to be, but had been promoted to the decision-making circle of the colossal entity known as the Internal Revenue Service. His position was secure, and with the compromising material from Lolita Island in hand, he no longer needed to be overly fearful of the opposition.
Wylder’s face was dark as ink, and countless schemes against David swirled in his mind. But thinking of David’s current prestige and his position at the Internal Revenue Service, he eventually gave up and said, “Alright, I’ll relay your words to the President, and notify you once President decides what to do.”
After the other party had gone, David immediately picked up the telephone on his desk and instructed, “Gather all management personnel to the conference room in ten minutes. Also, notify the media that the IRS will hold a press conference in an hour, which I will personally attend.”
The conference room was not far from the offices of the management level. Upon receiving the notification, the management personnel naturally did not dare to delay and all gathered there.
When David arrived, he sat down and without wasting words began, “A few days ago, I had already held a meeting with the senior officials of the headquarters. Therefore, our department will now carry out a tax audit on all enterprises owned by Jewish people nationwide, under the operation codename ‘Storm’.”
Hearing this, the people present were not very surprised.
Since the Freemasonry Group had dared to propose the abolition of the Black Tax Law, although it was ultimately unsuccessful, the two sides had thoroughly fallen out. If the IRS didn’t retaliate as a warning to others, it could hardly call itself America’s preeminent law enforcement agency.
“Buckynison Simmons… you inform the major bureaus in your region, especially those in Wall Street and Silicon Valley. Have them find all the previously archived cases involving Jewish enterprises, send them to us to review once again. Then based on the relevant issues, have the bureaus investigate once more and submit a new investigation report to us here. Those who are negligent or lazy will be dismissed or disciplined as necessary… ”
“Yes!”
“Understood!”
“…”
David began assigning tasks to the tax directors of the seven regions, and hearing his stern words, the directors of the seven regions dared not delay and solemnly agreed.
“Go get ready!”
Meanwhile, as David was making arrangements, the media outside received news that the IRS was going to hold a press conference and that David would attend, causing an immediate uproar online.
“After the hearing ended, Chief Inspector David had been quiet, but this sudden announcement of a press conference must herald some earth-shattering news!”
“I heard… the last hearing wasn’t just about Congress, but involved a struggle between the IRS and certain powers. I wonder if it’s true. If so, it seems the IRS might be gearing up for retaliation…”
“Regardless, this will be the first major action taken by Director David since his appointment. Let’s see what it will be!”
