After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 388 - 143: The Hero Resolved to Fall
"Living long doesn’t necessarily mean being stronger," Xi Mu moved his wrist and chuckled at the Corpse Witch, "There are dragons in this world who have lived thousands of years longer than me, yet they were slain by my sword."
"You can’t compare like that," the Corpse Witch retorted subconsciously but then realized that Ahtal made a point. Too many gods existed in this world. Although she couldn’t kill them, the moment she became a witch, she was already more powerful than most of the gods.
At least, beating the Dessert Goddess with bare hands was no problem whatsoever.
"Forget it, the war is still on," she said as she gracefully turned, her aqua blue hair swaying, "Ahtal, take care of yourself."
As she spoke, she flew towards the gates of Hell that the Goddess of Death had split open in the sky. She certainly could have taken the opportunity to shirk her responsibilities, finding a pretext to ensure Ahtal’s safety would suffice.
But she was not that kind of person.
"Madam, it’s time you stopped pretending to be unconscious," Xi Mu looked at the unconscious Suna next to him, who still maintained the appearance of a white-haired housewife.
"Have I been discovered?" the White-haired Lolita slowly opened her eyes and smiled faintly at Ahtal, "I understand I shouldn’t have returned to the world of the living, yet I wanted to witness my daughter’s awakening with my own eyes."
As she spoke, she released the possession of Suna and looked around the present world, her ruby-like eyes filled with regret.
"Has this world been harmed so much?"
"There’s still a chance for remedying it after," Xi Mu surveyed the battlefield, which must have been the core area of the clash between the goddess and the witch; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so extravagantly devastated that all life had perished and the ground was hot enough to cook an egg, steaming any ordinary person who walked in with the residual heat.
"If you’re willing to remedy it, it would be quite easy," the White-haired housewife murmured. If the Creation Witch would like to help afterward, the land could well regain its vitality.
"I’ll think of a way to remedy this after seizing the world’s dominance," Xi Mu stated very calmly, "But before that, the situation in this world will get worse."
"..."
The White-haired housewife fell silent, her ruby-like eyes deeply gazing at Ahtal, "Tesmar, aren’t you planning to return to Hell?"
"..." Xi Mu did not speak, but the Red Dragon King possessing him voluntarily released the possession state.
He seemed to be standing behind Ahtal.
"The dead indeed should not linger in the world of the living; however, I have descendants I wish to meet. Just to see him once, I would then immediately return to Hell."
"The situation is most chaotic right now, and the Angels of Hell don’t have time to deal with you," Xi Mu said composedly, "You should seize this moment to resolve your regrets."
"Hmm," Red Dragon King Tesmar nodded, flying towards the horizon, headed in the direction of the Dragon Kingdom.
In the Dragon Kingdom, the Dragon King is the actual leader of a race. However, becoming a Dragon King does not rely on excellent management skills.
Instead, it relies on possessing the ultimate strength within the race. If a successor defeats him, he would lose the position of Dragon King, or due to aging, he might step down voluntarily, allowing a capable younger dragon to assume the role.
The current Red Dragon King had willingly abdicated in favor of Tesmar because Tesmar was getting old, soon to be killed by time, and because Tesmar could not find another Red Dragon in his tribe who could defeat him.
Thus, Tesmar had no choice but to abdicate and let a worthy successor take over, otherwise he would have to stay in the position of Red Dragon King until death. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Now, Tesmar had come back from Hell intending to test the current Red Dragon King’s might, to complete one final power transfer through force.
Shortly after Tesmar flew away,
A dot appeared in the sky, rapidly enlarging to reveal an enormously sized White Dragon. He fluttered his massive wings, his powerful legs touching down on the scorched battlefield, causing the ground to tremble slightly.
"Ahtal, you... really did it," the White Dragon King lowered his head, his upright eyes reflecting Ahtal’s figure.
Before Ahtal could respond, a White-haired Lolita leaped out, crashing into Ahtal’s embrace.
Xi Mu paused briefly, then a tender smile appeared on his face as he raised his hand to gently rub the head of the White-haired Lolita in his arms: "Well, as someone plotting a grand conspiracy to overthrow the world, this would be your promise."
The White-haired Lolita pursed her lips, rubbing her cheek against Ahtal’s, the overwhelming emotions inside her preventing her from uttering any polite phrases.
She whispered softly.
"Was it difficult to rescue my soul?"
"Not really," Xi Mu replied, "The God of Hell was very easy to talk to, and it was quite simple to convince him to release your soul."
"Liar," the White-haired Lolita murmured softly, her clever mind easily guessing that Hell wouldn’t have easily handed over her soul; considering both witches and demons had entered Hell, making the situation there even more complex.
So the Gods of Hell certainly wouldn’t have easily released her soul.
"He did a lot for you," the White-haired housewife glanced at the silent White Dragon King beside her, then lightly stepped over to the White-haired Lolita’s side.
While she felt somewhat disappointed that her daughter’s eyes were filled only with Ahtal, considering this man had ventured through Hell to rescue her daughter’s soul
made it impossible for any female dragon not to be moved.
