"There are quite a few people who are regulars here, coming year after year." Jacob Green’s eyes were constantly scanning the crowd. "But this year, there are some new faces, I heard they’re rising stars from different industries."

Lily Green looked around, "It’s just the usual stuff, huh? Why is Elijah Sheppard here too?"

Jacob glanced towards the entrance and saw Elijah Sheppard, dressed in a blue suit, with a cheerful smile on his face, walking leisurely straight towards their direction.

As he approached, Jacob asked, "What’s got into you, coming to this year’s blind date event?"

"My mom pushed me to come. With my dashing looks, can I not find a girlfriend? It’s just that I don’t want to, being forced to come here, I’m quite helpless."

"All hidden inside." Elijah sat down, "Lily, aren’t you dressed a bit too revealing?"

"No." Lily’s gaze moved through the crowd, "Either they’re unattractive, bald, or with beer bellies which I don’t like. I’m a face and hand aesthetic person, and those who look refined either have affairs or are involved with women, I’ve heard enough in this circle."

"Face and hand aesthetic?" Elijah’s eyes lit up, "You’re practically describing me."

He extended his hands for her to see, "Look at my hands, and my youthful face."

Lily chuckled, "Elijah, can’t you be a little more modest?"

"How am I immodest?" He snorted, "I’m just speaking the truth. If you can’t see it, maybe there’s something wrong with your vision."

"Since that’s the case, why don’t we be together, considering I’ve looked around and haven’t found anyone appealing here."

"None actually."

"What about Miss Tian?"

"She’s plain-looking, not my type."

His mother glared at him again, "Isn’t Miss Quincey’s daughter pretty?"

"Met her once at a friend’s gathering, she’s wild. If I marry her, I’ll have a grassland on my head."

"Lily, you came to accompany your brother, right?"

"It’s my brother who came with me."

"Oh." Elijah’s mother looked delighted, "You actually agreed to a blind date. I heard from your mom before that you didn’t agree to others introducing you to someone, so since you’re here, take a look at our Elijah too. "Lily is absolutely right." Elijah’s mother strongly agreed, "Our families are well-matched, and you’ve known each other for so long; you know what kind of person the other is. For Jacob, if his sister married Elijah Sheppard, he would be very reassured.
