Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Rage

Victor Morgan settled Jessie Sterling into an empty private room next door, leaving one of his bodyguards behind to stay with her.

The lights in the room were all on, making it very bright.

Just as Victor Morgan was about to turn and leave, Jessie Sterling suddenly grabbed his large hand.

Even though she had been hiding in Victor Morgan’s embrace just a moment ago, she had still clearly heard what he planned to do.

And that was precisely why Jessie felt so uneasy.

Perhaps because she had been crying, Jessie’s eyes seemed especially bright and clear as she sat on the sofa and looked up at Victor Morgan.

"You..." Jessie frowned, unsure of what to say. She wanted to tell Victor not to get his own hands dirty. But when she finally spoke, the words came out differently. "Don’t... break him too badly..."

A faint smile suddenly touched Victor Morgan’s usually expressionless face at her words.

"Okay." Victor Morgan stroked Jessie’s hair, then turned and left.

He pushed open the restroom door. The two bodyguards who had previously dragged Shawn Stuart into the restroom retreated to the doorway after Victor Morgan went inside.p>The manager was also at the restroom door, his head throbbing with anxiety.

He looked at the two black-clad bodyguards standing before him like sentinels and couldn’t help but ask, "Is President Morgan alright? I thought they said that man had a pair of scissors on him."

’That kind of thing can kill someone!’

The bodyguard Director Sterling had assigned to Jessie remained silent. He wasn’t familiar with his young lady’s husband’s fighting abilities, but judging from Victor Morgan’s kick earlier, the man was clearly trained.

However, the other bodyguard—the one Victor Morgan had assigned to Jessie—scoffed at the question.

"Our boss is an MMA gold medalist."

The manager’s expression grew even more anxious when he heard that.

He was no longer worried about President Morgan’s safety; he was worried about the life of the man locked in the room *with* President Morgan...

’An MMA champion wouldn’t kill someone with a single punch, would he?’

As the manager was anxiously pacing back and forth, officers from the nearby police station arrived on the scene along with his boss, Xavier Warren.

Xavier Warren couldn’t believe that Victor Morgan’s wife had nearly been hurt on his own turf.

The moment he got the call from Victor, he’d practically had his driver fly to the KTV’s entrance.

Judging by how Victor had been acting toward that incredibly coddled wife of his from Southaven, Xavier genuinely believed Victor might just have the place torn down by tomorrow.

When Xavier Warren rushed in, the manager scurried over to him as if he’d seen his savior.

"President Warren!"

Xavier avoided the manager’s desperate gaze and frowned. "Where’s Victor? And his wife?!"

The manager pointed to the room where Jessie was, then to the still-closed restroom door.

He was on the verge of tears. If he’d known this disaster was going to happen, he would never have had the restroom soundproofed so well.

President Morgan had been in there for so long, yet not a single sound of whatever was happening inside had escaped. The manager was out here, dying of anxiety.

Suddenly, before the manager could even lower the hand he was using to point at the restroom, the door finally opened.

Victor Morgan emerged from within.

When he came out, his gray overcoat was gone, revealing a matching suit underneath. Aside from a few wrinkles on his trousers, he looked immaculate, as if he hadn’t been in a fight at all.

If Victor Morgan hadn’t been rolling his wrist as he walked out, and if his knuckles weren’t flushed red, the image would have been utterly flawless.

Xavier Warren immediately strode over to Victor.

"Where is he?"

As Victor’s childhood friend, Xavier obviously wasn’t worried about Victor getting hurt. The person on the receiving end of Victor’s anger, however, was a major cause for concern. Especially now, Xavier was genuinely afraid his friend would lose control and accidentally... finish the guy off.

Victor shot him a cool glance, and it was unclear whether he was speaking to Xavier or the police officers behind him. "He’s in there. Took a nasty fall a moment ago."

Xavier: "..."

The officers behind him had already swarmed in and were now dragging out Shawn Stuart.

Xavier glanced over and couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath.

Well, Shawn Stuart did, in fact, look as if he’d just "taken a fall," exactly as Victor had claimed.

It was just that the aftermath of this "fall" was so brutal that anyone who saw him would mutter, "Damn, that’s rough."

And those were just the visible injuries.

Victor claimed he had fallen on his own, and for some reason, Shawn Stuart—looking like he’d been mauled by a bear—didn’t dare utter a single word to contradict him and say he’d been beaten up.

The follow-up was left to Victor’s men and the KTV manager. Besides, there was a security camera positioned over the restroom entrance.

Victor knew his presence was no longer needed. His mind was on Jessie. After emerging, he spared Xavier a single glance before striding toward the private room.

Just then, Yvonne Rhodes and the others emerged from their room.

Earlier, Mochi had gotten an upset stomach, so Bella had been standing guard by their private bathroom door. It couldn’t be helped; the person inside had used up all the toilet paper. When Mochi yelled from inside, Bella had gone to bring more.

Yvonne Rhodes realized Jessie still hadn’t returned and sensed something was wrong. She left Mochi—who was on the verge of a bathroom emergency—in the room and went out with Bella to find Jessie.

But as soon as they pushed the door open, Yvonne and Bella saw a crowd of people in the hallway, including some in police uniforms.

They exchanged a look, each seeing the anxiety in the other’s eyes.

’Something’s happened. I just hope Jessie isn’t involved.’

Just as Yvonne was wondering how she could go and ask what was going on, Victor Morgan emerged from another private room, leading Jessie by the hand. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Jessie had calmed down by now. She didn’t want to admit that she had become so "delicate and fragile" simply because she had seen Victor.

Sniffling, Jessie tugged on Victor’s sleeve.

Victor looked down. "What is it?"

"My friends are still in the room..."

Victor: "Where?"

Jessie had just raised her hand to point when she looked up and met the gazes of Yvonne Rhodes and Bella.

"Ms. Rhodes!" Jessie might have felt aggrieved enough to burst into tears in front of Victor, but she didn’t have the nerve to do so in front of her new friends. As she raised a hand in greeting, a faint smile was already back on her face.

Bella was surprised to see Jessie emerging from a different room. Then she watched as Jessie pulled the tall, stern-looking man beside her over to them.

"This is...?" Bella’s confused gaze darted between Jessie and Victor, sizing them up.

Since the police officers weren’t gathered around them, she naturally assumed the incident had nothing to do with Jessie.

That made the man currently at Jessie’s side seem a little odd.

’There’s a man this ridiculously handsome in this KTV? His whole vibe is completely different from the waiters here!’

Bella couldn’t help but wink at Jessie. ’Girl, you’ve got good taste!’

(PS Hou Qing: She’s got taste!)
