After my divorce, I started to have good luck-Chapter 808 - 436: Anna Touched
When Chen Feng arrived at the hotel, they hadn't arrived yet.
After waiting in the hotel lobby for more than ten minutes, they finally arrived, but they were surrounded by layers of people, especially the outer layer and the ones leading the way were uniformed police officers. With such a scene, Chen Feng certainly didn't dare to go up rashly.
Anna noticed Chen Feng, but in this kind of situation, she couldn't just go over and take Chen Feng upstairs. She could only quickly edit a message on her phone and send it over: [Come up later, I'll contact you]
Chen Feng replied with an "OK."
Qin Zhen also saw Chen Feng and couldn't help being a little surprised, but quickly understood.
Qin Zhen also knew about the matter between Chen Feng and Anna. They had just separated before, and now Chen Feng was at the hotel again. It was no doubt about that thing between men and women.
Qin Zhen winked at Chen Feng from a distance, smiled, and then continued escorting Vivian upstairs without stopping.
After another ten minutes or so, Chen Feng was starting to get a little impatient when he finally received another message from Anna, telling him to go to room 1022.
The security here was quite strict. To take the elevator, one had to swipe a card, and the same was true for the emergency stairwell.
As a visitor, Chen Feng had the attendant by the elevator doors contact room 1022, and after receiving confirmation from Anna's side, he was finally allowed to pass.
Smoothly reaching the tenth floor, he found room 1022 and was just about to knock when the door opened, revealing Anna's smiling face.
She reached out and pulled Chen Feng in, and then their "international friendly match" commenced immediately.
There was no one else in the room, just Anna and Chen Feng, and no security personnel outside either, clearly indicating this room was prepared exclusively for the two of them by Anna.
Over two hours later, the match finally concluded, with Chen Feng having a slight advantage, doing his country proud.
Of course, it being a friendly match, friendship always came first, competition second.
After the match, the two lay side by side, having a friendly conversation. Winning or losing didn't really matter to them.
"You're the best man I've met so far. I've realized I've developed a bit of a liking for you."
Anna's words gave Chen Feng some sense of accomplishment, but that was it.
Chen Feng replied straightforwardly, "I like you too. But you know, you're not the only woman in my life. You can be my lover, but not my girlfriend."
Anna immediately said, "Of course. When I say I like you, I don't mean romantically, but purely as admiration for the opposite sex. Don't get the wrong idea."
"That's good. You know I've been divorced and I still don't plan on starting a new relationship."
"Yes." Anna nodded, "I'm the same. Ever since my first romance ended at eighteen, I haven't planned on starting a new relationship with you men."
Chen Feng couldn't help but pout, "Your first love must have hurt you quite a bit."
Anna candidly admitted, "Yes, he was a scumbag who deceived my feelings and kept me depressed for a long time. One of the reasons I came to Rabbit Country to study was also because of him."
"How did you and your first love break up?" Chen Feng curiously asked.
Anna glanced at Chen Feng before replying, "He was twenty at the time, very handsome, at least that's what I thought then. He actively approached me, and I, being a naive girl, bewilderedly became involved with him. Later, under his cajoling, we got intimate. It wasn't long before a classmate told me he was two-timing, which I initially didn't believe.
But once, a friend of a friend held a birthday party, which I attended, and I caught that scumbag getting cozy with that friend's friend at the party. After that, I completely lost faith in men."
"Your first love really was a scumbag," Chen Feng criticized sincerely.
Deceiving girls was undoubtedly wrong, especially when it was her first love, making it even more unforgivable. Not to mention, that scumbag also deceived Anna's pure feelings, which was unpardonable.
"He was a scumbag. Later on, he got what he deserved. My brother and his friends beat him up, stripped him naked, dumped him on the street, took photos, and spread them around school. He became a social pariah. Soon after, he transferred schools."
Chen Feng still felt this was too lenient and said, "That's it? Isn't that too easy on him?"
"What else? Break his legs? That would be a crime. But two years ago, a friend of mine told me about his life, quite tragic. After transferring schools, his parents divorced; he moved around with his father, living a nomadic existence, eventually dropping out, and then working odd jobs. He's been living on the fringes of society, now a father of three, with a stay-at-home wife who doesn't do much. He works in a machinery factory with a meager salary, living a hard life, relying on government child support to sustain the family."
"You were relatively lucky. If you'd stayed with him, he would have just dragged you down," Chen Feng said.
"Only God knows. But I learned from that failed first love not to get involved in romantic relationships with men anymore."
"How do you plan on getting married without a relationship? A marriage without love can't be happy. Haven't you considered marriage?"
"No, I haven't planned to marry anyone so far."
"That kind of thinking isn't good. Even though I don't want to get married right now, I know I'll have to eventually, to form a family, have children, and raise them."
"At least for now, I haven't met someone who makes me want to marry and have kids. Maybe I'll never meet such a person. But that's okay; there are plenty of women who stay single their whole lives."
"You're so beautiful and multilingual; it would be a shame to stay single. When you're older, do you really want to face getting old alone?"
"Even if I remain single, it doesn't mean I'll be alone. I can make friends with people like you. When I'm old, I can keep in touch with these friends; even if I'm unable to move, aren't there retirement homes?"
Chen Feng disagreed with her views and shook his head, "No matter how good friends are, they can't replace your own kin and family. Retirement homes, no matter how good, can't replace family companionship in old age."
"What you say might be right, and I might not stay single forever. Perhaps someday I'll meet someone who truly moves me to marry, and then I'll live like a regular woman, getting married, having children, with family around me."
Chen Feng nodded with relief, "That's more like it. No matter what, you can't stay single forever. Of course, if you still haven't found a suitable partner as you age, you can come find me, be my friend or even my neighbor. We could still look out for each other. If I have kids in the future, they'll be like yours too."
