After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again-Chapter 47: If you can’t eat it, take it with you
Chapter 47: Chapter 47: If you can’t eat it, take it with you
Luke Gardiner was stunned for a few moments by her words: "No, you never intended to look for me."
"You’re a grown man, you can’t possibly get lost in there."
Disappointment, dejection, and a very uncomfortable feeling filled his heart as he inexplicably thought of those women.
He had little patience, and there were very few women who could stay by his side for long. Now, Florence Fuller’s feelings towards him seemed similar to those women he had coldly rejected before.
Because he didn’t care or like them, his indifferent attitude towards those women was like Florence’s attitude towards him.
"Come back to me," he said into the phone, struggling with his words, "Come back."
It seemed as if only Florence’s return could dispel this dull ache within him.
"I’m already halfway there, by the way. I had the store people send the clothes you bought to your parking spot. You’ll see them when you go to your car. You can go back by yourself. I have other things to do, goodbye."
The call was cut off as soon as the last word left her lips. Luke Gardiner stared at the phone, his eyes as deep as an abyss.

NQ smoothly began its three-month trial operation at Starloop SSG.
Florence Fuller and Chloe Quinn had done adequate preparation. Whether they could meet Luke Gardiner’s standards would depend on fate.
On New Year’s Eve, she finished work early and left together with Chloe Quinn, who asked if she wanted to grab dinner.
Florence Fuller shook her head: "You’ve probably already arranged a date with your little boyfriend. I’m not going to be the third wheel."
Chloe Quinn smiled ambiguously: "You’re really not coming? He’s not my boyfriend yet."
He’s pursuing me.
Florence picked up on that.
"No, I’ll just rest early."
"Alright. I’ll head off then."
"Bye."
The two parted ways.
Florence Fuller had just gotten in her car when her phone rang. Without checking, she answered via Bluetooth. Before she could speak, a frantic voice came through: "Florence! Room 213 at TD Clubhouse, save me...!" freewёbnoνel.com
It was Evelyn Shaw.
"Damn, quickly hang up his phone."
"Damn it, I’m going to beat you."
The chaotic voices made Florence’s heart tighten, and she stepped on the accelerator, her heart trembling uncontrollably. A red light stopped her. As she flipped through her contacts, she suddenly saw Luke Gardiner’s name.
Her eyes flickered, and she dialed.
Pick up, pick up, pick up.
"Hello," a tender female voice answered.
"Where’s Luke Gardiner?" she asked.
"Hmm... President Gardiner is in the bathroom, you might need to wait a bit. He..."
Florence hurriedly hung up and looked for another contact.
Christopher Somerset.
She dialed, the light turned green, and the call was quickly answered: "Sister-in-law."
"Can you get in touch with the manager at TD International or a friend there? I have a friend in room 213 who’s in trouble. Can you have someone go over there quickly?"
"I’m nearby, I’ll go."
"Evelyn Shaw is there."
Florence added, letting out a sigh of relief and rushed in that direction as fast as she could.
TD Clubhouse.
She hadn’t been here before and wasn’t familiar with the place. Anxiously, she grabbed a server to show her the way and rushed into the room as soon as she reached the door.
Under dim lights, the room was filled with the smell of smoke and alcohol, and there were quite a few people, both men and women.
At that moment, everyone on the sofas sat particularly still, exchanging glances as another person entered.
A few disheveled women were crouching in the corner. Seeing another person come in, they showed hopeful eyes.
"Sister-in-law!" Christopher Somerset greeted her upon seeing her.
Hearing Christopher Somerset call her sister-in-law, someone in the room couldn’t sit still.
If Young Master Somerset called her sister-in-law, then her status couldn’t be simple.
"Evelyn Shaw."
Florence Fuller called.
"Here," came a tear-choked voice as Christopher stepped aside, revealing Evelyn Shaw.
She had a coat, likely Christopher’s, draped over her, clinging to it tightly as she cried uncontrollably upon seeing Florence.
The lights were turned up, and as Florence walked over, she saw Evelyn’s disheveled hair, a face full of bruises, and a cut, bleeding lip. A surge of anger flared up: "Who hit you?"
Evelyn choked and sobbed: "I was tricked into coming here. They said it was a New Year’s Eve dinner, but then..."
"I arrived just in time," Christopher Somerset explained. "They didn’t get away with it."
Evelyn sobbed even harder, struggling to speak, while Florence clenched her jaw, her gaze landing on the people around them.
"It’s a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding," a man came out in a panic to explain. "We were just... just..."
He couldn’t finish, as Evelyn’s injuries couldn’t be explained away.
Florence dropped her bag on the ground, walked over, picked up a glass bottle from the table, and smashed it into his face.
The bottle shattered, and the man fell to the ground, his nose bleeding.
"Who hit her, come out!"
With an icy tone and a cold glare, the group watched her in terror, too afraid to move. Florence’s eyes fixed on a vaguely familiar face.
The man met her eyes and immediately looked away.
"I seem to have seen you before, but it’s not a good impression," Florence approached him.
Holding a broken bottle, the man watched in horror, "Don’t... don’t touch me. I’m telling you, you can’t... you can’t touch me."
He was terrified the bottle would hit him at any moment.
Florence aimed the jagged bottle at his face, "Even if I kill you, nothing will happen."
"You... dare!" His voice trembled, "Isabelle Sunworth, the superstar under my wing, is with Young Master Gardiner. If you lay a hand on me, you’ll get what’s coming."
"Ha!" Christopher Somerset laughed mockingly.
"Oh!" Florence tossed the bottle aside.
Seeing it work, the man became a bit more confident, "You know the Gardiner Family in SJ, right? You better be careful..."
"I’ll give you time to warn them," Florence said calmly, "You can call now because I’m going to beat you later."
The man was startled. He saw her stand, taking off her jacket, watch, ring, and even the earrings from her face.
"Take her to the hospital." Florence tied her hair up, looking at Christopher Somerset, "I’ll handle this here."
Christopher Somerset nodded. He knew Florence’s capability, and he escorted Evelyn out.
Florence glanced at the few injured women crouching around, "You all should leave too."
"Thank you."
"Thank you."
The door closed, and Florence counted the people.
Eleven in total, seven men, four women.
One of the men who had warned her was on the phone, speaking hurriedly, "Come quickly, she’s something else... I told you, but she’s not afraid at all. Letting me call, you had better...!"
"Finished talking?" Florence held an ashtray, her gaze fierce as she caught the man’s terrified eyes and took his phone.
The screen showed Iris.
"If you’re coming to collect the body, hurry up," she said, throwing the phone aside and taking the ashtray to smash it down hard on the man.
"Ah!" Screams of pain filled the air.
The people exchanged looks, contemplating whether to gang up on Florence. They had strength in numbers, and she was alone.
